If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Magic is about 2 years old as of November, 2024.  He was found in an abandoned trailer court and obviously he had been abandoned too.  He was in poor condition and in need of medical attention.  That attention has take time and we are so happy that he can opened up for adoption and excited about placement in a FOREVER home.  He's a beautiful boy, super sweet and gets along well with other cats.  His past has left a scar on him and he has been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome of his gi system.  While that may sound "scary" it is not and he is expected to live a full life yet he does require oral medications (which he accepts like a champ!) and a z/d prescription diet.  He only eats 1/2 cup of his z/d dry food a day; 1/4 cup two times a day and his oral medications are administered once every 3 days and all symptoms have subsided!  It costs $2.63 per day to feed/care for Magic and that includes his annual wellness and blood test.  https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/inflammatory-bowel-disease-in-cats Magic has been in rescue since May and so deserving of a home to love and care for him forever.  He will make a great addition to any home that can promise to love and care for him FOREVER.  He's very handsome on top of all that!  Adopt him today.  Approved applications will be contacted within 48 hours.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Story
Acorn is a gorgeous medium-haired black female. She is very playful and loves wand toys. She's very skittish and needs a patient home who can take the time to earn her trust. Once she gets to know you, she enjoys gentle pets. Acorn would prefer other cats that are mellow and gentle. She was also good with the small, older dogs at her foster home. Acorn is not litterbox trained.

Story
This gorgeous girl is Camila or Cami for short! Camila was surrendered to us after her owners were faced with health issues beyond their control. She was well-loved and very spoiled, so we're hoping to find her a new home that will do the same! She is 4.5 years old and a larger sized cat, weighing around 11lbs. She is understandably very stressed and upset at the shelter. She will occasionally rub against you but currently does not allow petting, beyond her trusted staff member. We hope with ample time and patience in a quiet environment away from cats she will start to trust people again and feel safe. She will require an experienced cat owner who understands she likely will take lots of work to become friends with as she is very feisty here. Camila lived as an only pet in her previous home and is looking for a home with no children.Camila is front paw declawed. When she first came to WCHS, she experienced some discomfort in her front paws. Our vet did x-rays and observed nail fragments in her front paws. She received a pain injection and has been doing wonderfully since. Any interested adopter would want to keep this in mind to share with their vet in case any complications arise in the future! At this time, Cami will likely need routine grooming/haircuts to upkeep her coat.
