Story
Hello, I'm Layla. I'm a cat of my own mind, independent and self-assured. I'm not the type to cling, but I appreciate the occasional stroke or chin scratch. I'm a quiet companion, content to watch the world go by from a sunny window sill. I like to explore, so don't be surprised if you find me in the most unexpected places. But don't worry, I won't cause any trouble. I'm just curious, that's all. I'd love a home where I can be myself, without children, where my independence is respected and cherished. If you're looking for a feline friend who's not too demanding but still has plenty of love to give, then I might just be the cat for you.  Kittens and Cats are spayed or neutered, feline leukemia/FIV negative, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated and treated for parasites. They are available to inside only homes where they will not be declawed. Applications to adopt can be found at harthumane.org. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, donations can be mailed to Hart County Humane Society P.O. BOX 1062 Hartwell GA. 30643 or online at harthumane.org. The Hart County Humane Society is an all-volunteer rescue, we receive no government funding and rely on donations to fund our lifesaving programs ##2074608##

Story
Soulmate Search: Ice Cream Cone Ice Cream Cone is a 2-year-old black & white gentleman who has already lived a lifetime of hardship… but you’d never know it from his loving, gentle spirit. His spirit shines brighter than the sun! The scars of his suffering remain — not on his spirit, but in the form of an autoimmune disease he will carry for life. Stomatitis once robbed him of the ability to eat, to play, to be a normal cat… yet it never stole his will to love Today, thanks to proper medical care and a medical foster home, Ice Cream Cone is now thriving and is ready to go to a real home! His mouth has healed beautifully, and while he will need regular vet checkups for possible flare-ups of his stomatitis, he is not “broken.” He simply lives with an autoimmune condition that is very manageable with his current treatment plan! It has actually been a few months since his last flare up, and he is still looking great! And here’s the best part: Despite everything he’s been through, Ice Cream Cone is a total LOVE BUG. He leans into every pet, purrs nonstop, and soaks up affection like he’s making up for lost time. His foster says he needed a few minutes to warm up to other cats and big dogs, but with slow introductions, he fits right in! His foster describes him as "Grateful," stating that he knows he has been saved and will never have to suffer again! Ready for his happily-ever-after If you’re looking for a young adult cat with an old soul and a heart bigger than his battle scars, Ice Cream Cone is your guy! He’s proof that the hardest beginnings can lead to the sweetest endings. Kittens and Cats are spayed or neutered, feline leukemia/FIV negative, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, and treated for parasites. They are available to inside only homes where they will not be declawed. Applications to adopt can be found at harthumane.org. Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing.  If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, donations can be mailed to Hart County Humane Society P.O. BOX 1062 Hartwell GA. 30643 or online at harthumane.org. The Hart County Humane Society is an all-volunteer rescue, we receive no government funding and rely on donations to fund our lifesaving programs. ##2510631##

Story
***UPDATE*** Happy to get her shots etc. taken care of prior to adoption if that's a deciding factor for you. We just want her to be loved. We’re a quiet, cat-loving couple in our 40s with no kids and lots of experience with indoor cats. Selina has been with us for nearly ten years and is a beautiful black cat with a gentle, affectionate side. She’s shy with strangers at first, but deeply loving with her people—she enjoys being held, naps on or beside you, and happily curls up in a sling bag during workdays. Selina is usually quiet, with playful moments chasing her tail or carrying her favorite scarf around the house. She’s lived indoors her whole life, is spayed, and not declawed. Due to stress around other cats, she would do best as the only pet in a calm, low-traffic home. We’re hoping to find her a peaceful place where a snuggly, somewhat particular, and gorgeous “void” cat can truly thrive.

Story
Sophie is a stunning long-haired black and silver ticked tabby with soft touches of beige and an equally beautiful heart.  She adores being petted—especially under her chin and behind her ears, where her purr machine instantly switches on.  Sophie will greet you at the door with affectionate rubbing and happily engage in playtime with wand toys.  When the day winds down, she loves curling up on your lap to keep you company.  Devoted to her humans, Sophie shows her love with sweet little kisses and endless affection.   She has a birthdate of 1/21/2024, up to date on vaccinations and spayed.  Sophie is looking for an indoor home and a family to love.  She is ready to fill a quiet lap and a loving home with purrs and kisses!   **************************************** This pet comes with an implanted 24 PetWatch microchip and free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service.  This cat is available for adoption at the Humane Society of McCormick County in SC for an adoption fee.  All of our cats are indoor kitties.  To adopt, contact 864-391-2349 or info@hsmcsc.org.  We are an all-volunteer 501c3 organization.  To learn more, visit www.hsmcsc.org.        January 23, 2026, 1:10 pm

Story
Meet Patrick! He is a very relaxed cat and loves to be a couch potato! He's super soft too!! To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. For more information about CARE and to see our adoption application, go to our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org
