This bacteria can cause cat scratch fever in animals or humans if it goes untreated, but luckily her former adopters got her into the vet ASAP and began treatment so Suki can live a normal life! Suki is a 6-month-old blue (grey) long-haired kitten. Here are some things you should know about Suki: her chronic illness is treatable and is only transmittable through flea dirt. Suki likely contracted this illness from flea bites while she was living in the woods of Quincy, FL. Because Suki’s illness is only transmittable through flea dirt, the solution is that she must remain on a monthly prescription flea medicine for the remainder of her life (which many pet owners should be doing anyway)! Suki will be a special needs adoption because of her need to stay on a prescription flea medication. She must have access to prescription antibiotics in case of a relapse in her illness (which can be your regular vet), and cannot live with immuno-compromised humans or animals due to the possibility of the illness impacting those with immune deficiencies more severely.
