Meet Onyx, a 10-year-old black Domestic Longhair with a quiet and relaxed demeanor. Found in a local cat colony, Onyx is a bit shy but has a soft spot for chin rubs and enjoys being brushed. While he won't actively seek out affection, he appreciates gentle attention and a peaceful environment. Onyx would thrive in a quiet household and gets along well with other cats. If you're looking for a calm and low-maintenance companion who will bring a serene presence to your home, Onyx is the perfect match.

Story
Elusive and majestic, Monarch is just over a year old and is not a fan of shelter life. She is however a fan of her hidey holes and she's definitely a fan of some catnip! She's all about the little joys in life. She has a few cat friends here at the shelter, and a calm mannered cat friend may be all she needs to come out of her shell in her new home. Monarch is one of those cats that will flourish in a home. Shelter life can be difficult on even the most well-adjusted cats. Having their own space away from constant change allows cats to open up in ways that are almost unbelievable. Though Monarch may never be an outgoing lap cat we're hopeful in a home her true personality will shine through. Monarch is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. For more information on Monarch, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application Adoption Fees for Senior cats (8yrs and up) is $50 Adult Cats $200 and Kittens under a year $250.

*** For Information about Adopting or Meeting our Cats, 1) Click Here to Submit an Application 2) Be Approved 3) Make an Appointment *** Bob the Builder has had a tough road. Bob was originally found on the streets and later taken in by an elderly woman. We are sure she meant well but Bob was fed a low quality dry food diet and was very matted. Bob has had a visit from the groomer and must be feeling much better. Bob has been shy in shelter but enjoys pets and attention. Bob would do best in a home that will give him time to adjust, a healthy diet and daily brush time. Bob is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and ready for adoption to a kind and patient home.

Story
Profile and Pics: Meet Alfred, our wonderful, resilient street survivor, ready for his forever home! Our big, beautiful boy, Alfred, came to us from one of our feeding stations about a year ago. He seemed to be an old, stiff street cat worn down by life outdoors, and with winter setting in, we brought him inside. But when our vet examined him, we learned he was much younger than he looked; it was only his injured, shattered paw and gimpy hip damaged in some unknown trauma that made Alfred seem so ancient. One year later, Alfred has absolutely blossomed in foster care. This 4-year-old boy has healed well enough to be a happy and mellow purring machine craving attention and companionship. Pat the couch next to you; he’ll be by your side in a flash. Hold up a brush, and he’ll take the lead, rubbing his chin against it, almost grooming himself! Like many former tomcats biologically forced to fight for territory and love, Alfred tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). But Alfred will live a normal life if given the love and care all cats deserve. What's most important about our Alfred is he’s a big, handsome, and soulful boy looking for a family to cuddle with. Are you ready to meet Alfred? The first step is to submit our adoption application at https://www.fofct.org/adoption-application. Adopters must live within 45 miles of Stamford, CT.
