Story
Samantha was found in the kindergarten yard at Baker Elementary School in National City. She had a litter of 5 kittens. While she was considered a `Feral/Community cat’ she was so friendly that she was caught by hand. She loves people and enjoys cuddling with her humans. When she was with her temporary foster, she spent time with one of her kittens, where she showed her maternal side. She`s very curious and loves to explore. She loves feather toys, cat tubes, fake mice, climbing, and having a scratching post available to scratch on. We’re not sure how she is with dogs yet, but she doesn`t take long to warm up to humans, and she`ll be an instant best friend to anyone who adopts her!

Story
Hi my name is Wolfie! I was rescued outside in Lakeside with my mom and 7 siblings by a nice couple who fostered us while Smittens got us ready for adoption! I enjoy climbing in my cat tree, swinging on the curtains, chasing ping-pong balls, and juggling my mouse rattle toy. I am really quick to purr and enjoy taking naps in my kitty tent. I’d love to be adopted with one of my siblings to play with in our forever home! Please note young kittens are adopted out in pairs or to a home with another playful cat or kitten.

Story
Meet baby Olive! She’s such a sweet girl around 11 years old. She’s terrified of dogs and won’t eat or drink with dogs anywhere in the house. She is really timid and often times gets bullied by other cats too. Olive’s perfect home it would just be her and her new parent would be available to give her lots of pets, cuddles and love! 💕 She’s a shy girl but once she warms up she loves to cuddle all day long. Olive would come with a water fountain, a motorized litter box and her auto feeder with toys. She would only be rehomed to the perfect new parent(s). My husband and I are newly married and sadly don’t have the time to give her. We will be having children soon and don’t want to stress baby Olive out with a screaming new born. We’re in no rush to rehome so if you think you’re the perfect fit then fill out the application and I’d love to chat :)

Story
*** Reina is in a foster home ***Solid white w/dark brown accents, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 8/1/21, #17233Cats: only other FeLV+ kittiesDogs: unknown Children: older kids/tweens/teens might be okayThis beautiful kitty fell upon hard times when her previous guardians moved, leaving her behind to fend for herself. Not one to be a victim, Reina wasn’t afraid to approach people, and she immediately enlisted the help of some very kind girls in the neighborhood. They contacted The Rescue House, and now, Reina has a second chance at finding her forever family!Reina is a gorgeous, sweet girl! Like most kitties, she initially is bashful towards strangers or in new situations. Once Reina settles in and gets comfortable, however, she will happily cuddle up and ask for affection! In fact, she CRAVES your attention! Every morning when she hears you wake up, she will jump on the bed and deliver a big purr to say, “I’m ready for breakfast!” When you come home, she’ll eagerly run to greet you with her chatty meows. According to Reina, your touch is heavenly. The scritches combo of head + cheeks + chin will have her drooling with bliss! To keep her luscious long fur looking divine, she adores being brushed. Still a kitten at heart, she is extremely playful and finds great joy in chasing and jumping after wand toys! A skilled huntress, Reina gets her thrills from watching the birds and catching all the insects that creep into the house. When she needs some rest, she’ll stretch out on the sofa or lounge by a window. Her favorite spots are on the couch (snuggling next to her humans) and under the blankets where she can stay nice and toasty during the cold winter. When Reina was abandoned by her people, she unfortunately contracted both the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) from outdoor community cats. There are no cures for these viruses. Although many cats can thrive for a normal life span with FIV, also having FeLV sadly will shorten her life expectancy. Currently, she has no symptoms or signs of illness related to either—she’s not on any medication and doesn’t need any treatment. While Reina cannot transmit FeLV to a creature of another species (such as a dog or a human), it can be passed in casual contact between kitties. As a result, Reina will need to be the only cat unless she joins a household with a resident FeLV+ feline. She has never

Story
Hi may name is Lillandra and I’m a gorgeous, purebred Maine Coon! I was brought to a vet underweight and sick, and was diagnosed with FIP. My previous owners only owned me to breed, so they told the vet to euthanize me :( Fortunately, the vet reached out to Smittens and I was taken on immediately! I received FIP treatment and nearly doubled my weight. I am now healthy and thriving! I enjoy toys and treats, I tolerate other animals fine but I really want to be around people!

Story
We've had Mara about 3 months now. She lived with a young lady in a small apartment. In our house, we have 4 people. I don't think the cat likes all the random noises and hasn't settled in here. Sometimes at night, she cries at the front door. She just wants someone to be with her but when we put in our one of our rooms or beds, she just runs downstairs. She is a really sweet cat, loves to be brushed and relax in the sun on the front walkway. She probably needs a 1 person home that is relatively quiet.
