Story
KC is a beautiful 7 year old long hair calico, who came to us from a local shelter recently. She was in a community cat room with other cats, including her cat friend "Vie". With a proper introduction she may do well having a cat friend in her new home. Understandably a little shy at first, KC warms right up with gentle pets and a calm touch. She enjoys being with people and is sweet and affectionate

Story
Introducing Minerva! Minerva, affectionately known as "Minnie," is a sweet and sensitive 5-year-old longhaired tortoiseshell looking for a very patient and understanding adopter experienced in helping shy cats blossom. Minnie lost her lifelong home when her elderly guardian moved to a residence that couldn't accommodate pets. This life change was traumatic for Minnie, and while she is making strides, she needs time and love to fully adjust to new surroundings and people. After a long period of patience and care in her foster home, Minnie finally felt safe enough to enjoy sitting on her foster mom's lap, and now, it's a cherished part of her daily routine. She loves her quiet evening bonding time, purring contentedly as she soaks up the affection. Once she trusts you, Minnie becomes a gentle and loving companion. She's also wonderfully well-mannered, with impeccable litter box habits, a healthy appetite, and excellent grooming skills. Minnie would thrive in a calm, indoor-only home without children. She would be happiest as a single pet but might coexist peacefully with a gentle cat or dog that respects her need for space. Small, cozy areas are her safe havens, though she also enjoys a cat tree or a sunny window to watch the world go by. Minnie adores her hideaway box and may always prefer its comfort when she needs a moment to herself. While she's not a fan of being picked up and will need mild sedation for vet visits, Minnie's quiet charm and gentle spirit make her incredibly rewarding to love. Shy cats like Minnie have so much to offer, and in the right home, she will repay your kindness with a lifetime of gratitude and heartwarming purrs. Minerva is currently in a foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org today to complete an online application.

Story
Introducing Watson! This talkative boy was recently returned to AFRP with his adoptive brother Chip due to no fault of their own after being adopted from us as kittens! Watson is quite a lively and talkative kitty who loves to let you know when it's time to play or get pets, both are frequent requests! Watson's playful side often leads to daytime zoomies, and his happy trills are sure to bring a smile to your face. Watson has been totally happy playing with a simple piece of string, will try out almost any toy, and has recently decided that a Kong cat brush is the best thing ever invented - purr, trill, look sideways and meow loudly at foster mom if she stops brushing! Both cats accommodate their foster mom's morning coffee time, but Watson can't understand why she might later be on a computer instead of playing with him ... so he creates his own games to lure her away. Watson also chatters (specifically) at the sight of crows. Watson is bonded with his brother Chip and must be adopted with him! He and his brother both enjoy lounging on cat trees and towers, and they love watching 'cat TV'-birds, squirrels, and people walking their dogs through the window or sliding door. They even show off their hunting skills by chasing the occasional fly around the apartment! Watson's preferred home is with adult adopters or families with cat-savvy children over 15. It is unknown at this time how he would do with other animals in the home as he has only been housed with Chip. Watson is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our online dog application.
