Story
Gordo is being adopted through the San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates. If you are interested in adopting Gordo, please submit an adoption application at http://www.sgvaa.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Your adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all their health and medical needs. Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. We can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) PetSmart. SGVAA is an all-volunteer, non-profit rescue organization serving the San Gabriel Valley area. For more information on how you can help your community, please visit: www.sgvaa.org Their Adoption Process If you are interested in any of our adoptable pets or have additional questions, please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take us within 24-48 hours to respond. Our little fur babies are so adorable that sometimes we get multiple applications for one pet! So if the pet you are interested in is no longer available there is no need to worry! We have plenty of friends who are furry! As part of the adoption process, we screen each new potential owner, and do home visits to ensure that an animal and owner are a good match. Once your adoption application has been approved, we will have you fill out a Pet Promise Certificate (adoption contract) *SGVAA’s adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all of their health and welfare needs (spay, neuter, shots, deworming, flea meds, microchip) *We also provide free home delivery of your new kitty/kitties! About This Rescue SGVAA is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of pets in the San Gabriel Valley area. We encourage people to rescue a homeless animal instead of buying one. Our organization also educates the community on the importance of early vaccinations for fatal and easily preventable diseases. We also advocate spaying or neutering to reduce pet overpopulation. Once an animal is in our care we vaccinate all rescues against disease & provide needed health care, fight pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering all rescues, and provide lifetime shelter and care to any rescued animal that is not adopted. Come Meet Their Pets Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. For interested adopters, we can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) Petsmart. We also post pictures of our adorable kitties at sgvaa.org, our Facebook page and on Instagram!

Not good with kids, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Bay, a lovely female cat, was brought to AALOC by a woman who found her in her front yard. The cat was not able to use her left side at all and could not get up. We took her in and to the vet/neurologist where she had a CT scan.  It showed trauma to her neck, which fortunately with extensive rest heals. We are happy to say that she is now able to walk. Bay is very shy and needs a quiet home. She does warm up after a bit and loves to be brushed. We hope someone will see this and give her a home where she will be safe, well fed and loved. Please submit an application to adopt Bay at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Bay and get to know her a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on adoption policies visit our cat adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org

She may be a little independent at times, but her affection comes in waves, and when she decides it’s cuddle time, you’re in for a real treat! If you're looking for a cat who’ll keep you on your toes with a dash of attitude and plenty of fluff, Rosalie could be your perfect match. Ready to embrace a little sass and a whole lot of love? Story
Hi, I’m Angelique.  My 3 littermates and I were rescued from the street in Seal Beach when we were about 2 months old.  We were all very scared as we hadn’t been around people before. At first, we were considered feral, but we were sent to a foster home and calmed down quite a bit.  My foster home had other kittens, big cats, and dogs. I loved the big cats and was fine with the kittens but the dogs scared me. I don't welcome pets or being picked up. I am a shy girl and get scared easily so I need a quiet forever home with another cat or kitten and a family who has lots of patience and will give me plenty of time to adjust to a new environment. Story
Hi, I’m Annie. I was rescued from the Seal Beach Jetty along with my friend Mercedes way back in 2015.  We both went to a foster home for a couple of months and slowly learned to trust humans. Then we came back to  SBACC and after a while, we were both adopted by a volunteer.  Sadly, Mercedes crossed over the Rainbow Bridge a while ago and I lost my home because my adopter couldn't interact with me.  I am very shy and don't allow petting or handling. I'm comfortable here and wouldn’t mind living out my senior years where I'm loved and cared for by a wonderful team of volunteers and staff.  Maybe if the right person came along, I could adjust to a new home, but after all this time at SBACC, it feels like home.November 5, 2024, 10:53 am

Story
Hi, I’m Margaret Mary.  I was rescued from someone’s porch along with my five five-day-old kittens.  I came to SBACC and then went to a foster home but was so protective of my kittens that I wouldn’t let my foster Mom near them or me. So we all came back to SBACC and I nursed and raised my kittens in a special back room at the shelter.  Once the kittens were eating on their own they went to a foster home and I stayed at the shelter to get ready for my forever home.  I’m a very friendly girl and the people who originally found me said I would sit on their laps and eat from their hands.  I’m now ready to do that with my forever family.  One more thing I should tell you.  I’m FIV+.  It’s not that big a deal.  Despite what many people think, cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives and it’s not contagious and can’t be transmitted from cat to cat by sharing food, water, or litter boxes.  I sure hope I don’t have to wait too long for my forever home. Story
Hi, I’m Joy. I was just three weeks old when I was found in the grass along a sidewalk of a busy street.  I was in critical condition and went to the vet soon after arriving at SBACC.  I was infested with fleas, was anemic and dehydrated, and had an eye infection and a URI.  I went to a foster home where I was nursed back to health.  I was very scared at first, but I came to love my foster Mom.  I’m shy around people I don’t know, but I was a friendly girl with my foster mom, and I loved to take naps on her lap.   My foster Mom called me a sweetheart, and given time and patience, she says I will make a wonderful lap kitty. Shortly after I was ready for my forever home, I came down with ringworm, and it took months before it was gone.  So now I’m a teenager rather than a kitten.  I get along fine with my roommates, but I often play by myself rather than with them, so I would probably do fine as an only kitty.  However, I wouldn’t mind going home with another teen or young cat or going to a home that already has one.
