Story
*** Reina is in a foster home ***Solid white w/dark brown accents, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 8/1/21, #17233Cats: only other FeLV+ kittiesDogs: unknown Children: older kids/tweens/teens might be okayBACKGROUND: This beautiful kitty fell upon hard times when her previous guardians moved, leaving her behind to fend for herself. Not one to be a victim, Reina wasn’t afraid to approach people, and she immediately enlisted the help of some very kind girls in the neighborhood. They contacted The Rescue House, and now, Reina has a second chance at finding her forever family!PERSONALITY: Reina is a gorgeous, sweet girl! Like most kitties, she initially is bashful towards strangers or in new situations. Once Reina settles in and gets comfortable, however, she will happily cuddle up and ask for affection! In fact, she CRAVES your attention! Every morning when she hears you wake up, she will jump on the bed and deliver a big purr to say, “I’m ready for breakfast!” When you come home, she’ll eagerly run to greet you with her chatty meows. According to Reina, your touch is heavenly. The scritches combo of head + cheeks + chin will have her drooling with bliss! To keep her luscious long fur looking divine, she adores being brushed. Still a kitten at heart, she is extremely playful and finds great joy in chasing and jumping after wand toys! A skilled huntress, Reina gets her thrills from watching the birds and catching all the insects that creep into the house. When she needs some rest, she’ll stretch out on the sofa or lounge by a window. Her favorite spots are on the couch (snuggling next to her humans) and under the blankets where she can stay nice and toasty during the cold winter. COMPATIBILITY: When Reina was abandoned by her people, she unfortunately contracted both the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) from outdoor community cats. There are no cures for these viruses. Although many cats can thrive for a normal life span with FIV, also having FeLV sadly will shorten her life expectancy. Currently, she has no symptoms or signs of illness related to either—she’s not on any medication and doesn’t need any treatment. While Reina cannot transmit FeLV to a creature of another species (such as a dog or a human), it can be passed in casual contact between kitties. As a result, Reina will need to be the only cat unless she joins a household with

Story
*** Kova is in a foster home ***White w/brown tabby spots, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/1/22, #18541Cats: nopeDogs: nopeChildren: cat-savvy kidsLast year, Kova decided she was tired of being alone and outside. After finding the perfect house in the neighborhood, she stood on the doorstep and belted out her best meows… “mew, mew!” The residence happened to belong to a Rescue House volunteer! A week before Christmas, Kova was thrilled to move in with her new family. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be; one of her adopters had allergies. We welcomed Kova back into our clowder and promised to find her true forever-and-ever home!Kova is the sweetest kitty in town! In fact, she was loafing on our laps since day one. Outgoing with a funny personality, she simply adores people. As you arrive home, you can expect lots of headbutts, leg rubs, and meows. After the welcome party is over, she’s off doing her own thing again. A balance of social and independent, she likes hanging out in the same room as you but also enjoys having her own space. When she gently wraps her paws around your leg, it is her way of saying that it`s time to play! Her favorite toys are the cat catcher and laser pointer. The queen of hide-n-seek, you’ve been found when you see her peeking around the corner. After a meal, she usually gets a burst of the zoomies and speeds around the abode like a racecar. Not fearful of strangers, she’ll even dash to the door to greet your guests. This fluffy diva prefers to make the initial move. Newcomers who try to pet her when she’s not ready will get a warning hiss or swat. Offended, she’ll flash a dirty look before sashaying away. The rule is: Kova will “pet” them first by giving a head-nudge and weaving between their feet. Then they have the all-clear to stroke her silky coat. At night, she requests that you keep the bedroom door open so she can roam around. A considerate girl, she promises not to disturb your sleep. Once you wake up, a cheerful Kova will meow her “good mornings” as you both start your fun-filled day together!Kova must be the only kitty in the household. She does not like other felines and would not do well with dogs. Since Kova can get overstimulated with constant petting, older cat-savvy kids who understand her boundaries would be ideal. Are you looking for America’s next top kitty? She’s easy, breezy, beautiful… Kova girl! What are you waitin

Story
*** Diesel is in a foster home ***Grey & white bicolor, long hair, declawed, neutered male, born approx. 3/30/16, #18993Cats: okay solo or with large male catDogs: lived with previouslyChildren: all agesBACKGROUND: Diesel lost his longtime home through no fault of his own when his previous guardian had a change in living circumstances. No longer able to keep her beloved felines, she reached out to The Rescue House. Diesel and his two siblings moved into foster care to receive lots of TLC and heal his broken heart. A true romantic, Diesel can’t wait to meet his forever-and-ever family!PERSONALITY: Diesel is a huge hunk of fluffy love! Our BIG boy is super sweet and very sociable. He adores human company and will often join in on the conversations. This chatty lad has plenty of stories to share with the crowd. He also can be handled or held without issue. Proud of his flowy coat, Diesel loves being brushed and pet. It’s a great way for you two to bond and keep him looking majestic! Experienced with kids, he enjoys being around the action and noise. He’s a confident fellow who seldom hides, except when his nemesis is on the prowl… the infamous vacuum! For fun, he likes to tussle with feather toys, pounce on the cat chasers and climb up the kitty tower. While in foster care, Diesel was diagnosed with mast cell tumors. With medication, his prognosis is very good. Healthy otherwise, this spry guy is expected to have a normal lifespan. Ever the optimist, he took his vet visits as opportunities to make friends. The clinic staff absolutely adored him! We have no doubt that Diesel will win over your entire family! COMPATIBILITY: Diesel would do well as a solo kitty or could live with another large male cat. He didn’t seem to warm up to the two female cats in his foster home. He has lived with a dog before and could likely adjust to a feline-friendly canine. Diesel also was raised right alongside the family’s young children and does well with kids of all ages. With his long locks and brilliant personality, Diesel is quite the catch! Will you be the lucky recipient of his never-ending love and affection?

Story
*** Franklin is in a foster home. ***Gray/white bicolor, long-medium hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/1/18, #19334Cats: likely fineDogs: likely notChildren: quiet older kids BACKGROUND: Franklin was found in sorry shape, thin and malnourished, struggling to find food in trash bins and just trying to survive. His skin was a mess and his eyes were so sad. He needed time and TLC in foster care to both physically and mentally recover and regroup. Now Franklin enjoys warm places and good company, never skips a meal, and is ready to find a loving home!PERSONALITY: Franklin is such a lovely boy, and as his skin improved so did his fluffy fur! He enjoys being gently groomed with a brush and keeping his fur in tip-top shape can be a happy experience for both him and you. Pets around his head and neck area are Franklin’s favorite thing: give him a few scratches under his chin and he’ll melt like butter. He’d prefer if you don’t pick him up much, as he feels uncertain about things when his paws aren’t under his control, but once Franklin gets to know you he is very willing to come to you for attention and bonding time. He is good with new people if they’re not too loud or abrasive; he wants a slow and gentle introduction and an overall quiet home. Given that, this handsome boy shines!COMPATIBILITY: Franklin has largely been in his own space in foster care, but he has shown interest in the other cats he’s seen and seems open to interaction, so we think he could do well living with another mellow cat if given a proper intro. He is not comfortable around dogs, at least large ones. Calm and respectful older children who aren’t too loud or boisterous would be best.Franklin is looking for a quiet and loving home where he can live his days in peace and comfort. Will you make this wonderful kitty’s dream come true? While healthy, Franklin tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.

*** Velma & Scooby are in a foster home ***Velma: solid black, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 9/16/24, #19473Scooby: brown/grey/white tabby, long hair, neutered male, born approx. 9/16/24, #19474***BONDED PAIR***Cats: BONDED & get alongDogs: likely okayChildren: all ages!BACKGROUND: This sweet brother-sister combo was discovered near the San Diego Airport. The poor darlings were malnourished and covered in icky fleas, but otherwise healthy. A nice bath and some delicious meals later, they were back to tip-top shape! In foster care, they sprouted into loving and delightful feline companions. All they need now is their forever home!PERSONALITY: Velma and Scooby are two groovy kittens! They enjoy being held and will keep your feet warm at night. Inquisitive cuties, they are both quick learners. In foster care, they would carefully observe the adult cats in action before immediately trying it out for themselves! Snacks are the way to their heart. They enjoy all kinds of food and treats. Velma and Scooby do everything together, whether that is taking a nap, playing or even using the litter box!---Velma (affectionately called “Vee”) is the ringleader. This brave girl is always carving the way for her brother. Fearless Vee loves to inspect every nook and cranny of the room. During recess, her mid-air jumps rival that of a gold medal Olympic gymnast. While daring, she is also incredibly snuggly. Vee can’t resist a warm lap and pamper session!---Scooby (AKA “Scoobs”) is Vee’s trusty sidekick. He follows her lead in everything, even trailing her into the litter box! He is extremely playful and never misses an opportunity to chase a ribbon, string, feather, or shoelace. If you have a cat toy with batteries, you better invest in Duracell because he will wrestle with it for hours! Scoobs also appreciates attention, purring incessantly when he receives pets.--- Velma and Scooby are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. COMPATIBILITY: They’ve hung out with older cats and would probably like younger kitties too. They haven’t met dogs but would probably be fine with friendly canines. They get along well with people of all ages, including children. If you are looking for companionship and entertainment, these two couldn’t be more perfect! What are you waiting for? Invite them to join your family today!

Story
It is with a heavy heart I am rehoming my boy. He is a 12 year old loving senior cat. He is declawed (by previous owner), indoors only, and a mix of blue Russian and long haired ragdoll. He has no health issues and updated on all shots (I can provide records). His favorite thing is to sleep in his towers and get brushed. He loves catnip, rolling on concrete, greeting you at the front door, and purring next to you on the couch. He’s very social and loving. Great with other cats. He only likes dry food and free feeds throughout the day. His care is low matinance but he loves attention so having someone who is home more than us would be the best thing for him.
