Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Ripley is a 4 year old longhair dilute tortie. She is a gorgeous kitty. Just look at that tail, so fluffy! She has lived with a large breed dog and could easily pal around with a canine companion. We are not sure about another cat in the home, but we would be open a foster to adopt program for her to see how she would get along with your kitty before committing to the full adoption. We think she would be fine with gentle older kids as well. She could also be the only pet in the home, we don't think she would mind getting all the attention. Ripley loves lounging on her cat tree and napping on her human's lap. She loves kitty treats and will loop in and out of your legs when she knows mealtime is coming. If you have experience with long coats that would be a plus since she will need regular brushings to keep it looking purrfect, just like her. She would love to have a family or person that will adore her. Could that be you? Apply to adopt this beauty today. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.December 2, 2024, 9:11 pm

Story
It is with a heavy heart I am rehoming my boy. He is a 12 year old loving senior cat. He is declawed (by previous owner), indoors only, and a mix of blue Russian and long haired ragdoll. He has no health issues and updated on all shots (I can provide records). His favorite thing is to sleep in his towers and get brushed. He loves catnip, rolling on concrete, greeting you at the front door, and purring next to you on the couch. He’s very social and loving. Great with other cats. He only likes dry food and free feeds throughout the day. His care is low matinance but he loves attention so having someone who is home more than us would be the best thing for him.

Story
How this pet arrived: Noa was brought in by a community member on July 5, 2024.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Noa, a pint-sized fluffball full of sass and spirit. What can we say about this little fluff ball? Does she like pets, not really, does she thoroughly enjoy her own space, absolutely, can you win her over with some tasty churu, quite possibly. She can be hesitant about new faces and places, so she'll need a gentle and patient family to help her feel safe. She is also looking for another social kitty in the home to show her the ropes. Noa dreams of a serene home without the hustle and bustle of young children or dogs. Noa is a huge fan of treats - it's definitely the way to her heart! If you're ready to earn her trust, we're hoping that Noa will reward you with sweetness and loyal companionship! To adopt Noa, bring a secure cat carrier to our Oceanside Campus today.Shy/Fearful Cat: Noa requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
How this pet arrived: Bruno was brought in by his previous owner on October 4, 2024.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Bruno, a shy soul looking for a patient and understanding home. This sensitive boy prefers to interact on his own terms and is not fond of being picked up. Due to his history of litter box issues, he would thrive best in a quiet environment without other pets or children, where he can feel safe and secure. To help him adjust, he will need extended confinement in a calm room, like a spare bedroom, with easy access to multiple clean litter boxes. Bruno will need some time to adjust, and he may require different types of litter to find his preference. Bonding with him will take time and patience. To start bonding, you can offer high value food, treats, and gentle play. Bruno also has a cataract on his left eye, no treatment is indicated at this time. If you have a peaceful home and a loving heart, Bruno could be the perfect companion for you. Be sure to bring a secure cat carrier for a safe ride home!Shy/Fearful Cat: Bruno requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Message for details:Raven is available for adoption in a foster home. To adopt them, please email us at adoptoceanside@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number. How this pet arrived: Raven was brought in by her previous owner on November 5, 2024.Why Raven might be the one for you:Raven is a stunning long-haired black cat looking for her new home! This intelligent beauty needs a little love and patience to warm up, but once you earn her trust, she enjoys gentle petting and affection. Like her namesake, the raven bird, Raven thinks she's highly intelligent! Raven recently had bladder stones surgically removed (7/19/24), and analysis showed they were made of struvite. To prevent recurrence, she will need a lifelong prescription diet that lowers phosphorus and magnesium to promote acidic urine. Regular vet check-ups are also important to keep her healthy. Raven may do best in a home without other pets, as her history of urinary issues could be exacerbated by stress. She thrives in a quiet environment without young children and has happily lived indoors. As your one-and-only furry friend, Raven will reward you with loyalty, companionship, and her clever, curious personality. Ready to open your heart and home to this beautiful, intelligent cat? Email us at adoptoceanside@sdhumane.org to learn more! Primary Color: Black Weight: 8.5 Age: 5yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Butters was brought in by a community member on November 10, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Butters! Butters isn't just a cat-she's a survivor with a backstory that rivals any action movie. With a healed pelvic injury, a jaw that once sported a stylish wire accessory (now fully healed and removed), and a Grade II/VI heart murmur that doesn't slow her down, she's basically the James Bond of felines. Adding to her story, Butters has broken upper canines and will need dental extractions, but she's not letting that dampen her "new lease on life" phase. Butters is ready to audition for the role of your permanent sidekick. With resilience, charm, and an undeniable flair for drama, she's stealing hearts left and right. If you're searching for a cat who embodies determination and grace, Butters might just be your girl. Come meet her today! And don't forget a cat carrier for her safe journey to her new home! How this pet arrived: Mystic Bill was brought in by his previous owner on December 12, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Mystic Bill, a charming cat with a unique personality! Mystic Bill enjoys head and neck pets when he's in the mood, and he's a pro at rubbing against your legs to give himself a little extra attention. Mystic Bill is shy with new people and would do best in household with older children. His new family will need to give Mystic Bill his own safe space to slowly come out of his shell at his own pace. Once he is comfortable, his affectionate nature and playful antics will surely bring joy to your home. This lovable guy has dental disease and a history of chronic vomiting, so we recommend monitoring with your regular veterinarian to keep him in tip-top shape.
