Found with his sibling Mary Ellen, John Boy was sick. Like the heart-light on ET, John Boy has a bright white spot on his chest. Volunteers nursed him back to health, loved on him, played with him, and, spoiled him just a little. Now John Boy is friendly, healthy, happy and playful. In short, an adorable kitten that gives hugs! Also like ET, John Boy wants to phone home. If you want to answer his call, please contact us.You can apply on line at www.hsvawl.org by completing the Adoption Application on the home page.December 15, 2024, 6:05 am

Story
If you are looking for a chill and fluffy kitty look no further. This girl doesn’t need sedation when being shaved and groomed at the groomer. She is extremely docile and loves to just lay around with a human. She isn’t bothered by dogs that are good to her and same with cats. The vet says she is about 8 years old. Story time on that : we are a family of five with two dogs and a cat already. We seen a post about her needing a home and we grabbed her. After about six weeks, we decided it would not work because my female cat that we already have is extremely dominant and was making Duchess miserable. I decided to try to make Duchess an outside cat with a very nice outdoor home in our fenced in backyard.. within 24 hours she was gone. We have not seen her in months. Since then, we moved only about two minutes away, but into a rental house with restrictions. We recently seen her and saved her. She has been starving to death. She needs inside for sure. She is so appreciative of love.

Story
Finn is a senior sweetheart looking for a forever family who understands his special needs. This beautiful grey and white domestic long hair cat is the sweetest . He loves cuddles, and he's very affectionate. Finn will require a medical consultation with our on-site veterinarian before being adopted as he is diabetic and will require daily insulin. Because of his special diet, he will need to be the only cat in the home. Finns estimated DOB is 1/1/2016. If you have been looking to care for an animal with special medical needs, please stop by the shelter and meet sweet Finn! He would love to spend the rest of his life in your care! There is a mandatory consultation with our veterinarian before he can be adopted. Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.
