Story
Name: Hamlet, Ham, Hammy, Ham Sandwich Breed: Mastiff x Great Dane? Age: Around 2 years old Background: Hamlet was found wandering off the highway. He was extremely emaciated, weighing at only 40lbs (for reference, he's now 80lbs and still growing)! His paw pads were rough and he had small wounds on his legs, indicating he had been a stray for a while. Hammy is a big sweetheart. He's finally able to have fun and act like a dog without having to worry about shelter or food, and he's relishing in it! He is affectionate and will lean on you for pets like a Great Dane, and roll over for belly rubs, pawing at you if you stop even for a second. He has a lot of puppy energy but is very smart and food-motivated, making training easier. He takes correction well, but still needs to learn not to jump on people or mouth their hands when he gets excited. He is still working on his house training skills! Because he doesn't know his size yet, small children are not recommended. That being said, he has not shown any signs of aggression to us or the other dogs. He tries to play with the other dogs through the fence, so he may be dog friendly. If you have another pet at home, a meet and greet is recommended. With some routine and structure, Hamlet will make an excellent dog. He has a heart of gold and stomach of a giant. He loves to play and we've even caught him throwing toys around when he thinks no one's looking. He's also a cuddler, so you'll get the best of both worlds! We're so proud of how far he's come in the short amount of time we've had him, so it would be wonderful to see him continue to flourish in his forever home.
