Story
Please meet Rupert! Rupert is a 2 year old male being fostered in CT.  He is crate trained and housebroken.  He is a young, active, healthy, strong boy that loves to play and get some exercise every day.   His favorite things are squeaky toys along with treats that his foster home is using for training.  He has very good house manners. He is learning some basic obedience such as sit, stay and leash walking.  He gets along with other med to large dogs and has been playing in the foster home with the resident dogs.  No small dogs or cats. He is a very strong boy physically and mentally.  He needs someone that has prior working dog experience and would be able to continue with his basic training and leash walking.  A secure fenced yard is needed so he car run around without always being on leash.  He is very sweet boy and we know he will continue to flourish with the right family.  Any children in the home must be over the age of 13 years.   All rescues in the care of  Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro chipped before being placed into their adoptive home. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue does NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. Story
Three year old Manji is ready for his forever family. Manji likes belly rubs, chewing antlers, being kissed on the cheek, car rides and drinking out of the hose. He is crate trained. He has been working on his leash manners but does still pull. His foster family adores him and would love to adopt him but they have a male Dogue de Bordeaux and the two do not always get along. Manji does not do well with small dogs, he could be placed with a female dog simalar in size. Cats are unknown.  He may be placed in a home with children six and over. Manji was likely mistreated prior to coming into our care. Certain movments of adults casue him to cower and scamper away. When he first arrived he was afraid of the dark and he would bark and bark if left alone overnight. A member of his foster family slept on the floor next to him for weeks until he felt safe, now he rarley barks. Manji has gained a great deal of confindence living with a loving family.   While in our care Manji had a benign melanocytoma removed from his face and blepharoplasty surgery on both eyes to correct entropion (eye lids rolling in) and macroblepharon (to place the lids in normal position). He has completly recovered and needs no further care.   All rescues in the care of  Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro chipped before being placed into their adoptive home. Story
Foster Home Needed Washington State   This good looking, five year old boy is Astro. He is one of the four that were surrendered in Washington at the end of May. He is currently at the same foster home as his dad Apollo. We are looking for a new foster for Astro, he is jealous of his dad and starts showing it when dad gets attention. We were told that he and the other three are dog friendly, so the jealousy may be because of the new environment. He is leery of men but getting better with the foster dad. https://ddbrescue.org/volunteer-application/ August 9, 2024, 9:54 pm

Story
This 1-year-old, Bully/Mastiff/Corso/Shepherd mix is a sweet and playful pup who radiates happiness—just wait until you see her signature smile! Currently weighing 52 pounds, Tina is an energetic pup who thrives on attention, and will fit right in with an active family who will shower her with love. Tina’s favorite things include zoomies in the yard, gnawing on her favorite bones, and being the ultimate house watchdog—nothing gets past her keen senses! Tina needs a home with a secure 6-foot fence to give her the outdoor playtime she craves. She plays great with kids and enjoys interacting with other dogs, though she may bark at them from her yard when on a leash. While she’s still young, she is still learning how to be a good roommate. Tina is house-trained, but she occasionally has accidents and could use a little patience as she perfects her potty habits. During the day, you can see she will chew on her bones and toys, but also anything else she can find. She’s crate-trained and sees her crate as her safe haven. She’s also never shy about her feelings and uses her voice to express herself, making her an effective and endearing alarm system. Because of this, she will not be a good fit for homes with shared walls (apartments/townhomes).If you’re looking for a sweet, smiley, and playful furry friend who will bring boundless energy and affection to your life, Tina might just be your perfect match! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
This 1-year-old Mastiff mix has a striking brindle coat and a big personality to match! Weighing 52 pounds, Chomps is an energetic and playful girl with a flair for the dramatic, prancing and galloping like a little horse around the yard. She is ready to find a family that will appreciate her quirks and help her continue to grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be.Crate-trained and house-trained (with an occasional accident), Chomps loves to snuggle in bed or curl up with a blanket she’s pulled into her crate. She loves chewing on toys and bones, a habit that inspired her adorable name! Be prepared for lots of enthusiastic nibbling and endless bone-chewing sessions. While she's still learning how to be the best roommate, she is vocal and will let you know how she’s feeling, so she’s not a good fit for homes with shared walls (apartments/condos).Chomps thrives on attention and loves to play! She’s great with kids of all ages, but her high-energy play style and tendency to jump mean she’ll need guidance to play appropriately. A confident resident dog will be required to help her learn the ropes, and her future family should help to continue her socialization. While she hasn’t met cats yet, she’d likely do well in a structured and supervised introduction. With her higher energy level, she’ll need daily exercise—walks, playtime, or any activity to keep her busy. Chomps' future home will need a fenced yard to give her space to run and play. If you’re looking for a high-energy, fun-loving, and affectionate dog who will keep you entertained and shower you with love, Chomps is ready to be your new best friend! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450.
