Story
Great dog, very very smart. Very high energy. Can be aggressive by protecting trait. We have raised from puppy age. He is a very loving and responsive to positive reinforcement in training. He doesn’t do well with dogs out of his pack or in his territory that he isn’t or hasn’t become familiar with through slow introductions. He is intense with energy, but can be very affectionate and craves attention. He can be confrontational and has bitten a neighbor in the hand through an unsolicited reaching to pet from my neighbor. The best dog for a farm or someone that’s looking to be at a distance from regular people and animal traffic. Awesome work dog.

Story
Kodak is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Kodak (Koko for short) is quick to steal your heart with his puppy eyes. He is a dog who loves the company of people for an overdose of pets and belly rubs, and will seemingly begin to melt into your hands when you're giving them to him. When it's time for some activity, Kodak loves a good walk. He especially loves to keep his nose to the ground to explore, and would love either a backyard or someone who will take him on long walks to take in all the smells. He seems completely potty trained as far as his foster can tell, and has not had any accidents in the house or his crate. Kodak is an easy going guy, he is happy to hang around by himself but will get up to show you how excited he is to see you! He loves a good sniffari adventure and will wait politely by the door until you are ready to leave! On days when you can't be giving him attention, Kodak has done well in his crate and loves a good nap on a soft bed. Kodak can get a little nervous around other dogs, and needs a slow introduction when meeting them. However, he is doing well with the resident dog at his foster home now that they've become accustomed to each other, and they even play the occasional game of tug-of-war with some toys. He's great with meeting new humans too, but we are working on him not jumping since he's just so excited to meet new people, and he also can pull on his leash when he's excited about his walk. Koko would add a ton of love and happiness to any family looking for a furry friend, so reach out to meet Koko today! From Kodak's current fulltime foster: Kodak is a sweetie pie angel baby puppy dog. All he wants in the whole world is a warm couch to curl up on, and a friend to scratch his ears and tummy. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house, sleeps at LEAST 9 hours a night, and doesn’t show any territorial behavior with food or toys. He’s a really easy dog who can go pretty long stretches between potty breaks, and is just excited to see you whenever you stop by. We have loved listening to his little snores and watching his funny facial expressions. If you can lend KodyKat your couch... he’ll be sure to keep it warm and help you create many “Kodak Moments. ATTRIBUTES: Kodak has done well in foster with other dogs but requires a slow introduction with dogs. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
Hachi may not have been treated kindly in his life. Let’s change that. He was a bit timid coming out of his kennel but after a few kind words, he was ready to go! He wasn’t bothered by dogs we walked by and went potty right away once outside. He is a calm guy and was easy to walk on a leash. He was just happy to be outside and stretch his legs. Hachi liked treats and took them gently. He enjoyed some pets and affection, putting both paws on my chest for some closer love. He gave the sweetest kisses also. I can’t wait to see more of his personality come out! Hachi is a real sweetie! He was quiet in his kennel and shy, but not fearful.Hachi is a most remarkable dog. Easy to leash, Hachi willingly follows your lead and is easy to walk.As a Dogo Argentino, Hachi will benefit from an affectionate adopter who includes him daily activities and family routines.Hachi has a gentle disposition and easy manner. His sweet nature and inquisitive, playful soul capture the attention of those adopters who look closely and see the specialness peeking out. Please come and meet Hachi. He’s a great dog who needs a loving family to help him blossom!Hachi is available to all adopters.Animal Services Division3750 Brown Station Rd.Upper Marboro MD301–720–7800Check out my video by copying and pasting link below into a browser window:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWsdJpcTEiMWatch my reel: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDk56afS2Dp/?igsh=MWRianBwcTk5b2V1bg==

Story
We currently own a Dogo Argentino that we rescued from another family. However they did not disclose everything to us about Kora. She is a very lovable dog but we have had issues with her and our other dog. The first episode required our other dog to get stitches which was about a year and some change ago. We ended up keeping her through conversation with a dog trainer to lock her up when we eat and shock collar. Then the other day, they got into a fight again but it was in my son’s room. We separated them and they were doing okay until a little while ago. Their bowls are at different ends of the island so they don’t look at each other while eating but drink from the same water bowl just fine. Today, Kora growled and went to attack my other dog. I yelled and they stopped. I have a 5 year old and 15 year old at home and it does not feel peaceful because we are waiting for something to happen. She is a very lovable dog but a home with just her would be better.

Story
Mocha is a year and eight months old. She was born on 3/3/2023. We acquired her from someone who had her parents and was looking to rehome some of the puppies before taking them to a shelter. Unfortunately, soon after adopting her, my mother fell ill with cancer and I became pregnant. I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked working on training her, however during the few months prior to my pregnancy, we did manage to teach her quite a bit. She's a bit reactive towards other dogs, so I'd prefer she go to a home with an experienced owner who can handle strong dogs. She gets along great with other dogs her size that like to play rough. Ideally I think she'd do great in a home with a big yard where she can get lots of exercise.

Story
Bubba is a “teen” rescue from southwest Virginia.  As the case with many dogs that are worthy of a good home, he almost ran out of time until he came to northern Virginia to find his new home! Bubba is a loving dog that enjoys a lot of attention, the more pets the better.  He is also apt to hug back, and this can be quite charming.  He really wants to be a 45# lap dog!  He is good around any human and dog, willing to meet all.  He may be a little cautious at first, but then just wants to play upon a few good sniffs!  He is a hound and has a natural prey drive so he would be a challenge in a house with cats or other little critters.  Due to this, he is working hard on walking at “heel” and it is coming along well.  He does love his long walks!  He jumps at the chance at a fun walk… especially if he meets someone new along the way. He is crate trained and quiet in a crate.  He goes in the crate willingly on his own and with a few training treats he will go in when you want him to.   Bubba sleeps through the night with no whining or accidents.  He is also housebroken with no accidents. He would enjoy having another dog his new home.  He is currently learning “sit”, “where is it?”, and “come”.  Bubba would love a home where he has the stimulation of adequate play/walk/training times and will thrive and be a great dog!Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org February 8, 2025, 10:11 am
