Story
Bruno was rescued with his other half Coco hours before they were set to be euthanized at a rural shelter in San Antonio Texas. It was assumed it would be a hospice case as both dogs seemed to decline quickly, especailly Coco. After days and nights of nursing both back to health, their amazing foster finally brought these two amazing Dogos back to health. They love playing around in the yard, going for walks and taking naps in the sun. They are tightly bonded and will only be adopted together.  They do well with people and other dogs, with slow intros. They need a family to love them through their golden years! Are you willing to give this wonderful pair a relaxing and loving home?

Story
Hi, I'm Andy! I'm a super handsome 2-year-old dogo, and if I do say so myself, my eyes are mesmerizing. Seriously, they could stop traffic. I’m a total charmer and, let’s be honest, I want ALL your attention. Like, all of it. All. Of. It. Why am I homeless, you ask? Well, let me tell you my sob story. I was found roaming the streets in a Texas neighborhood, abandoned and looking pretty rough. It wasn’t my best look—skinny, dirty, and burnt (from either sunburn or chemicals but my rescue people don’t know dog language so it’s hard to tell them what happened to me!). Thankfully some kind humans saved me. After they scooped me up, I found my way to this cool rescue. Now, I’m heartworm positive (bummer, I know), but don't worry! I'm strong enough now to get the treatment I need, and I’m ready to get back to my charming, energetic self. You know, once all this wormy business is handled. Gross. Don’t worry though because dogs like me go through this all the time and end up living a long, good life so I am looking forward to that! I’m currently chilling near Houston, TX, but listen—I’m willing to travel anywhere for love. Cats? Yeah, I’ve seen a few. They're like furry, tiny couches that move. Not a big deal. I could probably live with one if you show me how to behave around them. I'm a fast learner, promise! As far as dogs, I can be moody if they are! I’ll admit, I need a little help with my manners (don’t we all?), but I’m eager to please! Give me some training and confidence-boosting, and I’ll be your perfect companion in no time. Oh, and I’m a bit of a ladies' man, just FYI. Men? Eh, I need to take my time warming up to them. But with the right introductions, I’m sure I can charm anyone, eventually! So, who’s ready to give me all the belly rubs and attention I deserve? So there I was, just chilling in the dog yard, minding my own business, when suddenly—BAM!—a bunch of chickens and turkeys decided to fly into my area. I’m talking about a whole poultry parade! Now, you’d think I would have had myself a little field day, right? Feathers flying everywhere, chicken nuggets for dinner? Nope! I just sat there like a true gentleman, hanging out with my new feathery pals. No barking, no chasing, just vibing. Everyone was watching like, "Here we go, this is the end for those birds," but nah, I was more like, “Hey, you guys wanna sit in the shade together?” Turns out, I’m not really into fast food—I prefer my friends with feathers intact! *Please note: Andy will be neutered prior to adoption. We have to get him cleared medically prior to this procedure!*

Story
Jovi is HEARTWORM NEGATIVE! We are so happy for this boy and can't wait for him to find his forever family! Jovi is currenly being boarded on the outskirts of Houston, TX as he is awaiting a foster home!! He was in the shelter for 5 months before we had the ability to pull him and we are so glad he is with us now because he is amazing! Formerly known as "Vadar", but now our handsome Jon Bon Jovi needs a foster that can help him get through heartworm treatment.  We cover everything!  Jovi is a good boy and very patient and tolerant of other female dogs and pups. Cats are a no for Jovi and he seems to be your typical male dogo who is super fun, loving, and likes to be a boy.  He is very gentle and sweet so we expect he will do great in his very own home! He is good at his manners and won't react to other dogs unless he has to remind them he can bark back too.  He does very well with learning new things and the basic training.  He is driven and eager to please so that makes training dogs like Jovi fun and rewarding! If you can help foster this amazing guy please let us know! If you want to help sponsor the costs of his heartworm  treatment you can donate here or at dcdogos.org/donate

Story
Ariel is looking for a new home! She was rescued from a very unfortunate situation with her breeding partner Ren and their 4️⃣ puppies (aka the Breakfast Club pups). All were severly neglected but wow, have they rebounded!  Ariel is high energy and will do best in a home with children older than 10 with supervision and slow introductions. She needs a family that will give her TIME AND PATIENCE and understand that she has never been shown boundaries or consistancy. She needs a solid decompression period of rest and repreive. Ariel is going to be the BEST companion, hiking buddy, jokester and zoomie girl! She just needs a chance. ✨From her fosters: “Ariel is feisty, courageous, very puppy-like and very smart. She learned how to open up our back door latch the first day she was with us!” She is curious and likes to explore the house but never strays far from her humans, especially her foster dad. She is playful and initiates most of the play with Ren. She is working on being house trained and crate trained too! 🐾 💃🏻Ariel will do well with a submissive male dog in the home with her. She will need basic training and lots of exercise to ensure she doesn’t get herself into trouble. She is loving and will probably be a velcro Dogo, judging from the past week! 🥰  She will need strict boundaries to ensure she stays safe. 🐾 💃🏻Ariel is currently in Texas. We are willing to transport within reason. Ariel needs to move into a foster or adoptive home ASAP. 🐾
