Story
Hi there! I’m Sally, a big girl with an even bigger heart. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s always ready for a fun time, I’m your gal! I absolutely love playing with toys—stuffed animals, squeaky toys, you name it! I have a medium energy level, so I’m happy to lounge around with you, but I also enjoy going on long walks. I’ll admit, I get a little excited at the beginning and might pull on the leash, but don’t worry, I settle down quickly and enjoy the stroll.Because of my size and strength, I’m looking for an experienced owner who knows how to handle a strong dog like me. Sometimes I can get a bit mouthy when I’m overstimulated, so I need someone who can help me stay calm and focused. Meeting new people is one of my favorite things. I get all soft and wiggly with excitement and basically beg for pets! But given how excited I can get sometimes, children are too much for me. As for other furry friends, I should be the only pet in your home—I like having all the attention to myself! I’m super motivated by food (who isn’t, right?) and eager to learn. I’m still working on my house training, but I’m learning fast with a little patience and consistency. If you’re up for the challenge and ready to welcome a loving, playful, and loyal friend into your life, I’m here waiting for you!* My friends at Barking Hound Village are setting me and my new family up to start out on the right paw (so to speak!) and are gifting three training sessions to help us bond and keep my training consistent.

These pups are in Kennesaw, Georgia too!

Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx.  2 years old / Approx. 30 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be too! I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot!  Now I’m ready to find my new family.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, though I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so if you have older dog-smart kids, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo type home would be a good fit for me. I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun! I was a very good boy, calm and sweet for my shelter bath.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. / My energy level is 8-9, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  So far, I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘place’, and ‘drop it’ commands, as well as accept friendly strangers without jumping and utilize proper door etiquette.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I’m doing well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had only a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule, so I think I’ll do well in my new home once I know our schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them when the volunteers break them out at the shelter.  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 3, 2024, 8:07 am

Story
A SUPER SWEET GUY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 49 lbs. & needs to gain some weight Hi, my name is Nooney!  I found myself in need of a good home, so some folks helped me work my way to Mostly Mutts for which I am grateful!  I’m in a great foster home now and ready to meet my new family and start our life together!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  There’s an 8 lb. Yorkie in my foster home and I do very well with her, though I’m big and do sometimes walk over her a bit, but I think it’s more about my size than anything else. If you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / There are high school aged kids in my foster home and I’m great with them!  I haven’t met young kids, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’ve been described as super friendly, loyal and a personable dog that is very loving and wants to be with people all the time. I’m super sweet and cuddly with a wagging tail that expresses my joy! I have a great spirit and am very loving and I’ll sleep at your feet as well as follow you around.  I’ve also got a reputation of being ‘handsome, smart and sweet’ – I bet you will agree.  Affectionate and fun, I am sure to bring lots of love to my new home. I’m a strong boy, but don’t seem to know it. I do like to run, so please don’t let me off leash. / My energy level is around a 5-7 – lower in my foster home, but a bit higher in my temp. home. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and am getting familiar with the ‘stay’ command.  I also have good leash skills.  I bet you can teach me even more great things.  I take treats nicely out of my people’s hands, so my continued training should be fun – and yummy! / In my current foster home, I don’t love the crate, but I do calm down after a little bit.  I didn’t seem to need a crate in my temp. home as I was trustworthy in the home. / I’ve had good potty manners in my foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to be with people and enjoy my walks with them.  I always enjoy bones and tennis balls and I’m ready to receive belly rubs, too.  I enjoy my time both inside and outside with my people and with both men and women alike. I find car rides enjoyable too. / I am very afraid of loud trucks and lunge at cars on walks and I’m not a big fan of being alone much.  Otherwise,  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 12, 2024, 6:55 am
