Story
Dexter is a 3-year-old Argentine Dogo mix who was found emaciated and roaming the streets last year. Today, this 100 lb sweetheart has made an incredible recovery and is ready for his forever home. He is healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and crate trained. After six months in foster care, Dexter has adjusted well to home life and enjoys walks, car rides, and relaxing with his people. Despite his size, Dexter is a big goofball who loves couch snuggles and giving kisses. He is also a great protector of the home, does well with dogs his size, and tends to bond especially well with women. Apply today to meet Dexter!  Adoption fee is sponsored and includes a veterinarian visit, deworming, age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and microchip lifetime registration. Story
WATCH MY VIDEO...Meet Delta (ID 712607) a 2-year-old Male, mixed breed who is always ready to go, go, go! Delta is an energetic, friendly boy who gets super excited for walks and loves having something to do. With an active owner, he’ll shine. Delta loves playing fetch and after 10–15 minutes, he does settle down. This fellow enjoys going for walks and exploring, likes playing in water and is good in the car. He is still learning but knows sit and down and takes treats gently. It is unknown how he is with cats, and if you have a dog at home, a meet and greet is recommended. Delta was transferred to the Humane Society from another shelter where he was getting overlooked, so his past is a mystery. Are you ready to give this fun-loving fellow his forever home. He is trying to keep his spirits up and keeps himself entertained, but he deserves so much more. Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, they have kindly paid his adoption fee, and he gets to go home with goodies from the shelter’s Pet Boutique. Delta is waiting to meet you at the Humane Society of Broward County located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. Visit www.humanebroward.com to fill out the pre-adoption application form. The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. and if you have any questions call 954-989-3977.

Story
Meet Captain: Captain is a 2-year-old mixed breed who was rescued from Hendry County in 2025 and is ready to find his forever home. He’s a high-energy, playful boy who loves to run, explore, and engage in interactive play with his favorite toys. Captain also has a softer side—when he’s relaxed, he absolutely loves to cuddle and snuggle with his people. Captain is dog selective and would do best with careful introductions to other dogs. Because of his size, strength, and energy level, he is looking for an adult-only home and is not a good fit for homes with children. Captain would thrive with an adopter who has previous experience with powerful breeds and understands canine behavior. He benefits from clear structure, consistent guidance, and positive reinforcement training. With the right leadership, Captain is eager to learn and can continue building confidence and improving his manners. He loves being both mentally and physically stimulated—walks, training sessions, enrichment games, and interactive toys are some of his favorite things. Captain would do best in an active home that can keep up with his energy while providing plenty of love, attention, and companionship. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a loyal, playful, and affectionate companion, Captain may be the perfect match for you.
