Story
Lola is a gorgeous 2 and a half year old Dogo Argentino/Pit Bull mix who was rescued from Riverside Animal Shelter’s euthanasia list. Lola is so stunning. She is a very loyal dog who bonds quickly to her handler. She is a totally ready to be your “ride or die” Best Friend Forever. She is selective with dogs and matches best with puppies or with extra chill adult male dogs. She is athletic and very smart! Her favorite toys are ropes and balls. This girl loves to play tug and fetch! She is a fast runner, and would love a household that is active. She enjoys walks/jogs/runs…you name it! Lola is very good with listening and with her commands. She stays close by you and doesn’t try to escape or run off. We love Lola! We would not recommend her with kids, small dogs, or adult female dogs that may try to challenges her. She would be the perfect fit for a single female who works from home. Someone who wants the look of a guard dog, paired with the heart of an angel! Lola will go to the ends of the earth for her owner!

Nova arrives with a complete trousseau, including bedding, doggy-wear, toys, bowls, treat bags, and much, much more. We have invested a great deal into this valuable beauty. As you see in the photos, Nova is LOVING and GREAT with well-behaved teenagers, too! While deafness can be a recessive trait for Dogo Argentino: We GUARANTEE that this VERY GOOD GIRL is absolutely not deaf at all. In fact, she can hear a food wrapper anywhere on your property, lol! Food driven and highly trainable. Our rescue will only consider families experienced with Doggo Argentinos/similar breeds. Please do your research before contacting us. While we have no papers on Nova, she certainly APPEARS to conform to the traditional standards of excellence- we have observed many of the traditional genetic, behavioral traits and characteristics of Doggos in this beauty! In fact, ALL THE COYOTES in the neighborhood HAVE MAGICALLY DISAPPEARED because of the personal charisma of Nova's Protection Breed status! ARE YOU the IDEAL home for this highly valuable girl? * You have a very large, (preferably acre or more) fenced yard, * Family member home most of the days, * You’re experienced, committed to continue her positive reinforcement training, * You understand highly intelligent canines, * You understand the needs of working dogs, * You understand this girl is a human-bonded, indoor Family Member, not merely ALSO an outdoor guardian breed. Nova is specifically bonded to humans, not to other dogs or animals. To be considered as the best possible family for Nova, please respond BOTH with a ***cell number*** and provide a specific**** time window*** that our Volunteer Adoption Counselor can call when you are available to answer the phone. We value both your time and ours! Any other information you would like to provide up front will make a huge difference. We look forward to introducing you to your new Charming Girl. Story
Your Gentle Giant Looking for Love! Hello there, I'm Hippo, a 5-year-old Bull Mastiff mix, a big boy at 87 lbs, and neutered. I was pulled from the Riverside shelter by TAP and I am so grateful for that! I have picked up bathroom manners, working on leash manners. I have separation  anxiety and current medications to help with separation anxiety include Trazodone (~$7.00), Gabapentin (~$13.00), Acepromazine as needed (~$25.00), and Prozac (~$5.00). Monthly cost depending on where purchased and market value.  I may look imposing at first glance, but once you get to know me, you'll see I'm the sweetest and most loveable companion you could ever ask for. I love affection, and snuggling up next to my humans is one of my favorite pastimes. I'm generally friendly with other dogs, but I might need a slow introduction to make sure we're all on the same page. When I'm inside the house, I sometimes get a bit anxious and bark at people passing by, but don't worry – once we're outside, I'll mostly be an observer, calmly taking in the world around me. I can show some leash reactivity though. With some patience, understanding, and positive reinforcement training, I'm sure I can overcome this behavior. I adore outdoor adventures and walks, but I can get a little distracted if there's too much going on around me. I find night walks with minimal distractions to be the best for me. That way, I can focus on our quality time together without getting overwhelmed by everything happening around us. One of my quirks is that I like to playfully bite ankles and wrists when I want to wake you up or just engage in some playtime. I promise it's all in good fun! But for this reason, a family with older kids or adults might be a better fit for me. I would absolutely love a fun-loving home with a yard! Having a safe and secure place to play and explore would make me one happy pup! I'm quite adaptable, so whether you lead an active lifestyle or prefer a more laid-back approach, I'll fit right in. Just as long as I get plenty of love and attention, I'll be content. So, are you ready to open your heart and home to a gentle giant like me? I guarantee that with a little understanding, patience, and love, I'll be the most loyal and loving companion you could ever wish for. Let's embark on this incredible journey together, creating unforgettable memories and forging an unbreakable bond. ##1733826##

Story
Attention Active Dog Lovers, Boxer and Ridgeback Enthusiasts! Meet Groot! Current Location: Rockdale, TX Hey there! I’m Groot, a 3-year-old Boxer/Ridgeback blend with a heart of gold and a comedic personality. From California to Texas, my journey has brought me to a sunny sanctuary in Texas where I've been living my best life, running free and making friends. But now, I’m on the lookout for a forever home. Although I'm currently in Texas, I'm ready to take my comedy on the road for the right family! What Makes Me Special I’m Affectionate: my cuddles are the cure for any bad day. I’m Adventurous: Whether it’s a game of fetch or a jog in the park, I’m always ready to move! I’m Friendly: Other dogs? Bring them on! My heart's big enough for everyone. I’m Funny: Need a laugh? My playful nature and silly antics will keep you entertained. I’m Smart: I’m house-trained and eager to learn—I’ve got the brains and the brawn. I’m Curious: The world is my playground, and I’m excited to explore it with you. Check out my Bucket List Hiking: I've heard about these amazing trails, and I can't wait to explore them! Beach Day: Splashing in the water and playing fetch on the sandy shores sounds like a blast. Dog Parks: I've heard dog parks are the best places to make new friends and show off my playful side. Jogging: Count me in—I'm ready to let my athleticism shine. Camping: I can't wait to go camping and explore the great outdoors. My curiosity and love for adventure make me the perfect camping buddy. Furever Home: Last but not least… I’m ready for a family with kids over 14, as my energy might be too much for the little ones. Adopt me and I’ll fill your home with laughter, love, and a whole lot of tail wags. Story
Ivy is a Courtesy Post Only and is not a Second Chance Dog Rescue dog. SCDR is not responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, and representations made by the owner with respect to this dog. You must contact her adoption coordinator Ana at Ana@thriveanimalrescue.com for further information.  Ivy is a sweet, silly, cuddly, and affectionate girl - as of September 2024, she has been with us waiting for her forever family for over 456 days which is mind-blowing to staff at Thrive because of how great of a dog she is. Let's prioritize giving this lovebug a much deserved home for her to call her own!! Personality : She is a medium to high energy dog who loves to play - she enjoys mental and physical stimulation such as going for hikes or long walks/runs. She loves playing with other dogs and her people friends, but then she’s happy to relax and sunbathe in the yard after to decompress. Her favorite move is to flop on her back and show you her belly to ask for rubs :) Her Boxer zoomies will make you laugh! Training : Ivy has been going to doggie day care multiple times per week to hang out with all of her dog friends and has been doing great!! Despite her roughhousing playstyle with other large dogs, she is extremely gentle with puppies. She walks nicely on a leash and knows basic commands.  Ivy is on a special low-fat diet and we recommend that adopters keep her on this upon adoption to ensure she’s in tip-top health. The perfect forever family : She would do great in an active household with a young couple who loves to hike or go on adventures, and is good with kids 13+. She would likely love another active doggie friend. Ivy is available for a long-term committed foster or forever family. For further information or to meet Ivy, please contact Ana, Adoption Coordinator at Ana@thriveanimalrescue.com.  December 10, 2024, 4:48 pm
