Story
Prince is about 2 years old and still all puppy. He was rescued from a homeless family where he experienced starvation and deprivation of needs (mental, physical, emotional, social). Prince was to be a temporary (matter of weeks) foster while the family got back on their feet, however, this did not happen and Prince was surrendered to CDMI to find a new family and has been with us for a year. Prince is a young, eager, and intelligent dog. He has been receiving training and is excelling in his classes. We would like to see this training continue and will help to make this happen. His new family will need to keep his brain busy with enrichment toys, sniffing exercises/nosework, training games, etc. He is eager to learn, and he is easily motivated by just his kibble. Prince can pick up new skills easily and can learn to be part of your family, given your time and willingness to work with him. Prince should go to a home with no other pets or one other socially savvy and tolerant dog. Prince cannot be in a home with cats, small dogs, or other small animals. He has a high prey drive for cats and small animals and his puppy play could hurt a small dog. Due to Prince's size and natural excitement, he should not be in a family with young children or older kids who do not understand a dog's behavior. Kids can be loud, fast, and unpredictable, all things that will trigger him to be overly excited and become mouthy and jumpy. There is more we would like to discuss, so if interested in helping to save Prince, please fill out an application. Right now this is a dog you foster/adopt because you love dogs, you want your life to be in big part of theirs and you can see in his eyes he just needs a chance. The right owner must be committed to him and his training. The right owner needs to be able to keep him busy, so when you are home he is a tired dog. The right owner needs to accept that he will need a little time to be your dog. The right owner will know that all the work you put into him he will give back even more, in time.

Story
Gemma is 3-4 years old, and 35 pounds. She’s really the best girl ever, extremely good with other dogs/cats. She still is full of puppy energy if you can get her going, but doesn’t mind playing the role of couch potato and cuddle bug as well. She is vocal in letting you know when she needs to go out. Gemma can be left alone for 4-8 hours. She’s very spunky with a playful, loving personality and I would love her to go to a wonderful home.

Story
4-year-old Clyde is described as truly amazing by his foster mom. Despite his past, he is thriving and enjoying life to the fullest. His simple desires include a bowl of food, water, a comfortable bed, and belly rubs. He's been trained to wait patiently for his meals and to go outside only when given the signal. Although he still struggles with excitement-induced jumping, he's making progress. Notably, he recently greeted his foster dad by sitting instead of jumping, albeit wiggling with excitement. Clyde's gentle nature shines through when interacting with children, instinctively understanding the need to be delicate around them. He even follows commands from a two-year-old, earning treats and laughter in return. Remarkably, he shows no interest in chasing animals while indoors and is learning to respond to recall commands outdoors without pulling on his lead. However, his immense strength warrants caution around those who may not be able to handle it. In various situations, Clyde displays impeccable behavior, from resisting the temptation of food left unattended to interacting peacefully with other dogs. He's particularly fond of playing with his owner's son's dog and even took a nap on her bed. Despite never being confined to the crate provided, Clyde stays contentedly behind a baby gate when left alone. He shows no interest in the items in the spare room, demonstrating his exceptional demeanor. Overall, Clyde's foster mom struggles to fully articulate just how remarkable he truly is, emphasizing his love for life and those who love him in return.

Story
My name is Speedy and my foster mom says that it matches my personality. She said my little legs would easily run a mile or more per walk. She also said I am great on a leash!! My previous owner said I wasn't good at meeting strangers, but I met some today and I did not mind, they just need to give me time to say Hi first. Because of my size and breed small children may not be a good fit for me. I am living with 2 other dogs and I am doing fine, however, can we take the introductions slow? I will need to learn that they will not hurt me and that the food in my dish is mine. I love my adults, I love to be where they are, and I do not want to miss a thing. So much so that my foster mom has stated that I do suffer from some separation anxiety, but not in the way that I destroy things while you are gone, just super excited when you return and take a moment to relax. I am currently in a home with cats and I have no problems with them. I will need a place under your covers at night, I hope that is ok, I prefer to be close to you after dark. If you are looking for a small dog to go on hikes and adventures, then come home for cuddles, I am ready to meet you!!!

Magnolia is a great dog she’s very energetic. She love to play with balls and toys. She house broken and likes the outside as well. She’s definitely a good watch dog so you’ll know if someone is at your door. All she needs is a good loving home.
