Story
**Ziba is being adopted out from her foster home, where she`s learning sign language! Please call WCHS to set up an appointment if you are interested in meeting with her.**Ziba`s adoption fee has been paid for by a generous donor!• Intake Reason: surrendered, owner was unable to care forKnown with:• Cats: lived with 2 cats, and liked to play with them• Dogs: went to dog parks previously, does well in WCHS playgroups; is in foster with multiple dogs• Kids: exposed to various ages• Personality: AffectionateWeight: 40#Greetings, my name is Ziba and I am 40-pounds of special. My name means ‘beautiful’ and I think that is very fitting because I am enchanting. My world is very quiet because I am deaf. Since I cannot hear commands, people have been using hand signals to communicate with me; I know the signal for ‘sit’ and ‘good girl’. Because I could not hear you calling after me, I will be counting on you to keep me safe and out of trouble. I know that some folks who have a deaf pooch in the family use a vibration collar (no shock, please) to let the dog know you want their attention. I also appreciate it when humans do not sneak up on me or surprise me. In my previous home I had the luxury of roaming about freely when I was alone and also got to share my person’s bed at night; that was fabulous. When I needed to go outside, I would sit by the door. When I first come into my new home it would be wise to watch me carefully and also give me plenty of opportunities to get outside to use the facilities. I must confess I am still working on becoming 100% when it comes to house-training. Lots of yummy treats and praise should help me develop that skill. I am a tolerant gal but I have a tendency to get overstimulated, so it would be great if we could work on some settle exercises. I am a smart lass and think it is important to keep my brain busy and engaged so I have been happy with all the enrichment I get at the shelter. I do enjoy romping with other dogs and am sort of a rough player but prefer not to share my toys with them; a girl has got to draw the line somewhere. I enjoy car rides and would love to be your sidekick as we go on many adventures together. I am friendly and outgoing but do prefer a slow and polite introduction to folks I do not know. Give me a few minutes and a couple tasty tidbits and soon we will be BFFs. I hope you stop by to meet

**If you are interested in meeting Libby, please call WCHS to set up an appointment.**My adoption has been generously sponsored by a member of the community! Now all I need is you!Intake Reason: strayWeight: 73#Known with:· Cats: unknown· Dogs: Does well in WCHS calm playgroups· Kids: unknownHi there, my name is Libby and I am 73 pounds of sweetness and charm. I came to WCHS as a stray so my history is a bit of a mystery but one thing that is no puzzle is what a friendly gal I am. I am outgoing and tolerant but I do prefer my canine playmates to be calm and polite; I have enjoyed playgroups at the shelter and am not pleased with crazy and rambunctious dogs. Speaking of manners, I must confess that I could use some training on that front. I will greet you when you approach but have been known to jump up on folks when I say ‘hi’. I am an active girl and love to go on walks with people but tend to pull a bit on a leash, so I guess I could use some practice on that as well. I am smart and already know the cues for ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘shake/paw’. It would be lovely to take some classes with you because mental exercise is important to me too. Perhaps we could participate in obedience, rally, canine sports or nose work. I am affectionate and playful; a real lap-lover who would enjoy snuggle sessions after a day filled with fun. I promise to be loyal and think I could fill your home with love. I hope you stop by to meet me in person because I like to expand my circle of friends and think you will find me impressive.#2

*My adoption fee has been generously sponsored by a member of the community, now all they need is you!*·Intake Reason: Came to WCHS as a stray-Weight: 87 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownHi, my name is Otis and I am a big hunk ‘o love. I came to WCHS as a stray and I would love to make my home with you. I am a big, strong, strapping guy who likes to stay active. I am hoping for a family who can provide plenty of physical and mental exercise each day. I may look like a big tough guy but must confess that I am mostly a marshmallow when it comes to humans; just a lover-boy at heart. I am friendly and playful and would love to be your constant companion. It would be great if we could take some classes together so I am rock-solid on manners and am welcome everywhere we go; I would be honored to be a spectacular breed ambassador. I have had the pleasure to be part of the rowdy playgroups at WCHS and enjoy a good romp. I tend to be a skosh dominant with the other male dogs and favor hanging out with the ladies; honestly, can you blame me? I am a smart guy who will work hard to make you proud; my goal is to please you. I am looking for a BFF and promise to be loyal forever. I hope you stop by to meet me in person because I always enjoy meeting a new friend. Perhaps you will gaze into my soulful eyes and realize that we were meant to be together.#2

My adoption has been generously sponsored by a member of the community! Now all I need is you!·Intake Reason: Transfer from MADACC-Weight: 42 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownYahoo, my name is Malcom and I am a high-octane and spunky guy. I was a stray in Milwaukee before I came to WCHS to search for my new forever home. I must confess that some manners training would do me good; I get rambunctious, jump up onto people and can be quite mouthy. I also need to learn to accept treats more gently; I love eating and am too grabby with rewards. Speaking of my fondness for food, I tend to eat too quickly and inhale my meals. It would be best to use a slow-feed bowl or sprinkle part of my kibble in a foraging mat to help me take more time and enjoy my meals. I am an active lad and will need plenty of exercise each day to keep me healthy and happy; perhaps you could give me a job or two. I need some practice walking more politely on a leash, so it would be lovely to take a long hike every day; maybe I could even carry a backpack. I am very playful and might excel at a variety of canine sports; I would love any activity that we could do together. I am intelligent and will ‘sit’ when you ask me to. It would be grand to learn more human words from you and should do well with patient and positive training techniques. I am an affectionate boy and would love to be your constant companion and BFF; I promise to be devoted to you forever and will try to make you proud. I have a zest for life and would love to share my life with you; my puppyish demeanor will make me a joy to be around. Stop by to meet me in person and discover how dynamic I am.#2

Story
·Intake Reason: Surrendered to WCHS-owner could no longer care for.-Weight: 48 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown, does well in WCHS playgroups ·Kids: Did well with 6 year old grandchildGreetings, my name is Molly and I am a sweet and friendly girl who is in the market for a new home. I have lived with a person my whole life but unfortunately they could no longer take care of me, so I came to WCHS. I am an optimistic girl, so I am sure bright days are in my future. I am an active lass who will need plenty of exercise to keep me happy and healthy; an extreme athlete who might do very well in any canine sports you would like to try. I have been having a wonderful time playing with calm and polite pooches in the shelter playgroups and used to have fun playing with some neighborhood pups too. In my previous home I respected my human’s things and was able to roam free when I was alone; I also had the luxury of sleeping in my person’s bed at night. I am bell-trained to ask someone to go outside to use the facilities; how cool is that? I am a very smart gal and know a bunch of cues. I know ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘shake/paw’, ‘roll-over’, ‘beg/sit pretty’, ‘jump’, ‘speak’ and ‘house bark’ so I know to do a quiet bark. You see, I believe one of my jobs is to alert my people to things I see or hear so some folks consider me vocal. My person decided to turn this behavior into a positive, so they taught me to speak and do a quiet house bark. I also know a fun trick where I hold a treat on my nose. I love learning and think it would be lovely to take classes with you so I continue to expand my skill sets; I suppose I should practice manners a bit so I learn it is not polite to jump up on humans and not pull on a leash like a crazy dog. I am a playful girl and enjoy running in the courtyard and playing fetch. I am tolerant, outgoing and sociable; I am an affectionate little lady and love to spend time with people. If you are looking for a beautiful and spectacular pooch, I believe your search is over because you have discovered me. I hope you stop by to meet me in person; I can guarantee you will be impressed.#1

Story
Intake Reason: Transferred from an overcrowded shelter Weight: 65.2 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownHi, my name is Mandark and I am a spectacular good ‘ol boy from Louisiana. I am a high-energy lad who is always up for an adventure, so when I heard about a transport heading to Wisconsin I happily hopped aboard. I am a smart guy and will gladly ‘sit’ if you ask me and love a tasty tidbit as a reward. It would be lovely to take some classes with you to learn obedience and dynamite social skills so that I am welcome everywhere we go; it would be fabulous to be your constant companion. I am a cheerful chap who likes to have fun; and nothing beats fun for a good time. I am friendly, outgoing and playful. It has been a ton of fun to play with some of the other pups in the shelter playgroups; plus, it’s a fabulous way for me to burn some of my abundant energy. I am an extreme athlete who will need ample physical and mental exercise to keep me at my best. Perhaps we can get involved in canine sports, rally, dog parkour or nose work; these would be magnificent activities to do together and bond. Speaking of bonding, I hope you are into cuddling as much as I am; a true lover-boy. Wouldn’t it be grand to spend quiet nights snuggling after a fun-filled day of exploring? If you are looking for a handsome, ebullient, spunky and affectionate young dude, I believe I fit that description to a tee. Stop by to meet me in person and let’s get this party started.#2
