Story
Oliver is a lovely colored merle Australian Shepherd. Oliver's owner was having severe health issues and tried everything she could to find him a home on her own. Oliver is almost 4 years old, he is house and kennel-trained. He does not do well with cats and smaller dogs. Oliver does best in a home with a submissive female dog. When surrendered Olivers owner expressed that he does not like men/teenage boys. So far here at the shelter, Oliver has done well with our male dog walkers, he has shown dislike towards teenage boys however. Oliver has had some training with the basics, but could use good refresher. He loves to play fetch, swim and go for runs. Being a herding breed Oliver will chase cars, bikes and likes to herd humans. Oliver is neutered and current on all vaccines.“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle me into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).”

Story
Bear is a lovable 7-year-old mixed breed who came to DHS because his owners new work schedule left him home alone with no one to care for him. Bear has lived his life outside, so he will need patience and understanding to help him adjust to indoor living. He is a great size, short and stocky, but weighs only about 40lbs. Bear does well sticking around with his humans but while they are away, he has been in an outdoor kennel. Bear has few trips in the car, but didn't seem overly stressed by it. Bear does need to be the only dog in the home, and he has not been cat-tested. Bear would love a comfy couch to call his own while he enters into his senior years! Bear enjoys his walks here at DHS, but would prefer a country-living home instead of the busyness of city living. “I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Kobi and his best friend Lola were surrendered to a local shelter when their owner was facing health concerns. Kobi is a sweet little Whippet Mix who was originally from Arkansas as a rescue. Kobi is house-trained and crate-trained but has been free roaming in the house without getting into any mischief. Kobi rides well in the car, and walks well on a leash. Kobi is 43lbs, neutered, microchipped and current on all vaccines. Kobi has had play dates with other dogs, but has not been around cats. He has lived with children ages 14yo and over.Kobi and Lola would be a perfect pair to be adopted together, but it is not a must!“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Lola and her buddy Kobi are recent transfers from another shelter, where they had been surrendered due to their owner facing health concerns. Lola does have seasonal and food allergies, she does best on Salmon and Potato food. She gets a bath with a medicated shampoo when these flare-ups happen. Lola is a sweet 43lb Whippet Mix. She is originally from Oklahoma as a rescue. Lola is house and crate trained, but has not been crated due to being a great girl free roaming the house. Lola rides well in the car and walks on a leash. She has lived with children 14yo and older. Lola has been around other strange dogs and has a few she met she didn't not get along with. Lola has not been introduced to cats. Lola and Kobi would do well as an adopted pair, however, that is not a must.“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Ben has been around the block in his short 4 years of life. He was originally rehomed to a lady, who recently has had some health issues and can no longer care for him properly. Ben lived there for only about 4 months. Ben is a sweet guy! He adores people and wants to be wherever you are. Ben does not care for other male dogs but may do well with a quiet female. He lived with other's (male and female) and did pick fights with the male. Ben enjoys riding in the car, and treats. He did not live in the house at his 2nd home, but may have in his first, so potty training and crate trained are unknown at this time.
