Story
Flash is currently in a foster home and doing super well! He seems to be house and kennel-trained. His favorite thing to do is sleep on the couch and hang out with the family. Flash was in a foster home, and did well with children for the first part, unfortunately he did develop some resource guarding so we believe children over the age of 12 yo would be best for Flash.Flash is a good lookin hound dog! He came to us as a stray so background is unknown. Flash is a sweet boy who loves attention, and loves to sing hound dog songs. He has a bounce to him, and he loves to chase toys. He is such a lil love! He has not been cat tested, but with the hound breed slow greets will be very important.Flash does well with other dogs he has met at the shelter. He likes to try sharing his toys with them!“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Cole came from a breeder and has spent his life living in a concrete run/kennel. He has never been inside a home, on grass, or worn a collar/leash. All of these things will be new to Cole, and he will need lots of patience and love. He is very timid and will need a good "decompression" time when first introduced to home living. Cole is 5 years old and is missing some teeth, so his tongue hangs out the side of his mouth giving him a silly look. This fine gentleman deserves a home that is going to give him the wonderful experiences, care, and love that he has been missing his whole life. Cole is currently in a foster home and doing super well! He is gaining some of his weight back and has a great appetite! Cole enjoys sleeping in bed with his foster mom and thinks cuddling is the greatest thing! “I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Viroqua, WI
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Not good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Oliver is a lovely colored merle Australian Shepherd. Oliver's owner was having severe health issues and tried everything she could to find him a home on her own. Oliver is almost 4 years old, he is house and kennel-trained. He does not do well with cats and smaller dogs. Oliver does best in a home with a submissive female dog. When surrendered Olivers owner expressed that he does not like men/teenage boys. So far here at the shelter, Oliver has done well with our male dog walkers, he has shown dislike towards teenage boys however. Oliver will need a home with limited exposure to males. Oliver has had some training with the basics, but could use good refresher. He loves to play fetch, swim and go for runs. Being a herding breed Oliver will chase cars, bikes and likes to herd humans. Oliver is neutered and current on all vaccines.“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Viroqua, WI
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Gryffin is a 7-year-old Vizsla who lived with the same family since he was 8 weeks old. Gryffin was surrendered to DHS because he does not enjoy younger children. He would do best in a home with children over 12 years old. He is potty and crate trained. He is an active guy who needs a good weight loss program to get him back to his ideal weight. Gryffin is a loving and sweet guy! He does have some food resource guarding that can be prevented by feeding in a crate, or a room where he does not feel threatened at mealtimes. Gryffin played well with dogs at doggy daycare in his younger years but has not been around others recently, so slow introductions are important. This fine, elegant gentleman is ready for his next and final home – his forever someone!“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Viroqua, WI
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Bear is a lovable 7-year-old mixed breed who came to DHS because his owners new work schedule left him home alone with no one to care for him. Bear has lived his life outside, so he will need patience and understanding to help him adjust to indoor living. Bear does well sticking around with his humans but while they are away, he has been in an outdoor kennel. Bear has few trips in the car, but didn't seem overly stressed by it. Bear does need to be the only dog in the home, and he has not been cat-tested. Bear would love a comfy couch to call his own while he enters into his senior years! Bear enjoys his walks here at DHS, but would prefer a country living home instead of the busyness of city living. “I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Boone is a spunky 1.5 year old Beagle mix who arrived at DHS as a stray. He has a goofy, lovable personality. Boone seems to enjoy other dogs and has done well with the ones he as met here. It is unknown how he would do with cats at this time. Boone keeps a clean kennel, so very well could be potty trained. He will need some help with basic manners, but with his love for people and peppy nature he will be a fun boy to train! Boone would benefit from a more active household as he is a bundle of bouncy energy, but loves a good cuddle on the couch too!“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
