Story

We have had Chico since he was a baby, my mother bought him for my eldest, and he ended up my responsibility lol. He is supposedly a red healer and he is a bundle of energy. He is constantly around my 4 kids (a teen, twin 8 year olds, and a five year old). He was a covid dog though so he isn't very socialized with lots of people or animals. My mom lives with us and she has a small dog that he gets along with fine. He really does need someone who will socialize him as I just do not have the time. He needs a family with a yard that is fenced. I do not have the money or permission to install a fence on my property and he is a runner. He has so much energy and just wants to run around. I have to walk him on a leash cause he slips out of every type of tie out I have tried, there for every time i open the door without putting him in his kennel first he is off!!! He has come to taking that as play time and has turned me getting him back into a game. He loves to ride in the car!

Meet Hola! He mad the trip from Texas to Wisconsin about in November of 2023. At 1 year old, this poor guy is taking his time adjusting to life outside outside of the shelter. He was born there and never adopted. Check out the attached photos for more info regarding his life so far. Hola has experienced two different Wisconsin foster homes, and remains submissive and sweet. Hola is very timid , but with time we think he will gain the confidence to come out of his shell. He’s very reliant on other dogs to reassure him, and loves to snuggle! Bio: Amelia's rescue adventure began when she and her brother Zillah escaped euthanasia at a small shelter. Amelia spent the first few days here hiding in the back of our kennel too scared to eat or drink. Then slowly laying with out paws hanging out, and accepting the goodies her foster mom dropped off throughout the day. She still avoids eye contact at times, and will need a very dedicated home to continue working with her long term. Playing outside with the other dogs in her foster home came naturally, and having a canine pal in her forever home to help her transition is a mutst! Rope toys, Jolly balls, squeakies, you bet. Paisley joined Our Pack in November of 2023. Paisley began her time in rescue incredibly timid. While she has made amazing progress, and understanding home with the patience to allow her ample decompression time is a must. The other dogs she is fostered with have helped her get into a routine, and as a result she has been doing great with pottying outside. Paisley loves treats, and they are a great way to begin winning her over. Name: Nacho Age: 5 years Breed: chihuahua mix Guesstimated Weight: 16-18 lbs Good with dogs?: yes, but needs a safe space until he is comfortable around other dogs. He is not mean, just scared. Good with kids?: very timid around kids and hides or runs away from them. (Not aggressive at all) He would do well with older/respectful children. Good with cats: yes Crate trained?: yes Leash trained?: He did OK on the leash for his new fosters House Trained?: Yes. Has not shown any destruction. He knows how to use a dog door and enjoys spending time outdoors. Current on all vaccines?: yes Spayed/neutered?: yes Heartworm Tested?: yes Bio: Nacho will take a few days to come out of his shell. He does not trust humans in the beginning. He flinches when the humans pet him. He will only allow the petting when he is relaxing in his crate, but does not appear to find it comforting. He has never snapped at the humans. We are still working very hard to gain his trust and he makes improvements every day. Bio: Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling Clementine …and she is darling indeed! Clementine was found as a stray in Illinois, and found herself at one of our partner shelters. She was stressed in the shelter setting, and the caring staff knew foster based rescue could help her thrive. She loves to hang out on the couch, and explore the back yard. She is fostered with several other small dogs, and doesn't mind larger ones as long as they don't get too nosey. Clementine has been doing her business outdoors, and is gaited in the kitchen when her humans go to work. She LOVES toys, and has no trouble running around or jumping up on furniture. She has met kids of all ages, but seems to do best with the calm, older variety who will not try to pick her up. Clementine would thrive in a variety of homes, and her foster family will tell you they feel incredibly lucky to have her as a guest in theirs! *Clementine does take a daily med for collapsing trachea that is about 40.00 a month.
