Story
Rico came to us with a broken leg (after being hit by a car) but his leg is now completely healed and he's ready to rock and roll! We think Rico is some kind of a Terrier mix, and he is a very gentle, sweet, smart boy. Although he was found as a stray, we suspect he was someone's beloved pet at one time because he is quite well mannered. Rico has been totally vetted (neutered, immunized, dewormed, and microchipped). Rico is a young adult (probably a year or two old), he weighs 50 lbs., and he seems to be housebroken (he hasn't yet had one accident in the house!). We want Rico to have a safely fenced yard and we would prefer that he not be left home alone 40 hours a week as a latchkey dog. So an adopter who works from home, works just part time, or is retired would be the best fit for him. Our rescue group adopts to individuals, couples, or to families with children 12 yrs. of age or older. Rico is presently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for adoption in September. His adoption fee is $300. If you feel you would be a good fit for Rico, please contact us at: sylvialovesme@gmail.com and tell us about yourself, your daily schedule, if you have a safely fenced yard, etc. Once we received your inquiry--if we feel Rico would be a good fit for you (and vice versa)--we will e-mail you an application. Then, once your application has been approved, we can set up a time and place for a meet-and-greet. Please watch his video at: youtu.be/LrDNjszHFu8 Personality traits Smart, Affectionate, Loyal, Gentle, Loves kisses, Friendly

Story
My name is Doobie and I’m a beautiful, young, healthy boy…..with an “old soul” at heart. I love everyone and would enjoy a home with another dog to play with and an adopter who has a large safely fenced yard and who would teach me lots of new things. (I walk well on a leash most of the time, but when I see a squirrel or a deer I pull on my leash and I’m a big, strong guy. And I tend to jump up on people because I love them so much--so I probably wouldn’t be a good fit for an older, frail person or a family with very young children). But….I’m eager to please and am a quick study so I’m learning quickly! I am about a year and a half old and I weigh about 60 lbs. The rescue group who saved me says they think I’m part Lab and part (some kind of) Hound, but….once you adopt me, it would be fun to have you do a DNA test on me! My adoption fee is $250 and I have been neutered, immunized, microchipped, and I have had (negative) heartworm tests done. So I’m all set to come home with you! If you think you would be a good fit for me, please contact my foster “mom” at: sylvialovesme@gmail.com Then, if she agrees I might be the right dog for you, she will send you an adoption application and we can schedule a meet-and-greet along with a pre-adoption home visit. Personality traits Friendly, Affectionate, Loves Kisses

Story
My name is Leah and I’m a beautiful, young, healthy girl with a lot of potential. (I don't climb fences,, but I can jump really high--so with some training I might make a great agility partner.) I would enjoy a home with another dog to run and play with and I need an adopter who has a nice safely fenced yard and who would teach me lots of new things. I am about two years old and I weigh about 35 lbs. The rescue group who saved me says they think I’m part Hound and part "Whats-It" (whatever THAT means -HA HA!). Your guess is as good as theirs, apparently. What do YOU think I"m mixed with? (Maybe I'm some kind of fancy "designer dog" mixed breed!) Anyway, my adoption fee is $250 and I have been spayed, immunized, microchipped, and I have had (negative) heartworm tests done.

Story
Meet Gwenny! As a tiny puppy, Gwen was left with her sisters in a small box--their paws tied with tape, under a broken truck next to a garbage dumpster. They were lucky that their cries were heard and they were saved by a compassionate dog lover. Gwenny is now all grown up (she is two years old and she weighs 60 lbs.), she has been spayed, she is in perfect health, and she has all the vaccines. Gwen may initially be timid, but as she gains confidence and get to know you better, her amazing character emerges. She's great with people and animals, barking rarely and never biting. She is playful and will respond whenever you want to play with her, but she is not pushy or needy. Whether with a single person or a family with kids, Gwenny will thrive and will give you a lots of love. She would need a safely fenced yard (please, no invisible fencing). Her ideal adopter would be retired or would work just part time (or work from home) because Gwenny doesn’t want to be left home alone for more than 4-5 hours during the day. Because Gwen had a rough start in life, her adopter will need to be patient and gentle with her.. But with a little time, she will blossom into a loyal, loving family member.
