Story
Summers County Humane Society Poor girl was abandoned with 9 puppies in an old burned out house. Puppies were rescued and we brought mama in. She was pretty feral and afraid of EVERYTHING! Fast forward and she is a very happy girl. Still making progress but much faster. Having probably never been in a house and only coming a few feet inside, she now uses the doggie door at will. Before she was using that, she would bark when she had to go potty. Gets along with every dog we have and every foster. She mothered another weaned litter of doxies. There is not an aggressive bone in her body, she loves other dogs, still afraid of new people though. She is starting to play, loves large tennis balls and to play tug of war with old shirts. She prefers the couch to the floor. She has never been destructive. Likes squeaky toys. Thought she was pretty special when she received her first pig ear of her very own!!!! She over going for walks, and finally, she now gets so excited when either I or my husband come home. She parades and around and acts silly. While away for a vacation, she was home with one of our dogs, the feeder finally could pet her after 6 days, but she shook all over. The slightest noise and she runs, do not swat flies if she is with you, as it terrifies her. She is not afraid of storms. She is the perfect dog and will be a perfect dog for someone who will give her the love and time to build her confidence. She is a joy at our house! Please sponsor me! Story
Summers County Humane Society Hunter is an old fellow but still has a lot of life and love in him. He’s a big boy, weighing about 90lbs. His exact age is unknown but he’s probably 8 or 9. He’s definitely got some lab in his family tree. He loves wading in the river. He’s generally pretty laid back. Hunter greets people with a wag of his tail. He does not do well with intact males but is in a foster home with a neutered male and they have become best buddies. Hunter would love a front porch and pond or a creek to chase the ducks from. He walks well on a leash, as long as you’re going where he wants to. He keeps his area clean. Hunter would love to find a home to live out his senior years.     Please sponsor me!
