My goal is to find a safe, stable, and loving forever home. 🐾 About Him • Age: 5 years • Sex: Male • Neutered: Yes • Vaccinations: Unknown • Health: Has allergies (details can be discussed) 🐕 Temperament & Training He is loyal, intelligent, confident, and protective — a strong, confident male true to the breed. • Good with kids: Yes • Other dogs: Has lived with two other German Shepherds in the home • Cats: Unknown • Training: House-trained, basic commands, leash trained • Energy level: Moderate to high — thrives with structure and exercise 🏡 Ideal Home An experienced German Shepherd or working-breed owner is preferred. I am forced to re-home my dog, Winston, due to a divorce and my job creating an unworkable situation for him. I rescued him from the Wenatchee Humane Society about three years ago. They suspect he was a COVID pet (born ~March 2020), and as such, he has separation anxiety. He came in as a stray, and is flinchy due to what I can only guess was his prior owner's physically abusing him. He has an extremely calm and poised demeanor, gets along great with other dogs (lots of dog park socialization), and would be equally as happy chasing a ball as "just being close to you." I suspect that he is an Australian cattle dog and border collie mix, but I haven't had a DNA test done. He is up to date on his shots, and very healthy. In fact, I would go as far to say that he's very pampered - as he deserves.

Story

We got Huxley from friends who had an accidental litter of pups. His mother is a golden mountain dog and his father is a golden doodle. We were not prepared for such a large dog as we thought he would be only near 45-50 pounds. He is near 100. We also thought he would be hypoallergenic because of the poodle and he is not. He is a sweet and gentle dog, and LOVES KIDS, but has LOTS of energy that he needs to work off psychologically as well as physically. We both work full time and we have come to realize that we are probably not the best home for him in order for him to be his happiest. We recently moved and our new place is even less comfortable for him to thrive. He needs at least 2 walks a day if he does not have a very large yard and needs lots of attention. We don’t think he is getting what he needs in our home. We are not in a huge hurry, we are willing to wait till just the right family comes along.
