Story
Benzo is an excitable guy that needs training and patience. He comes to us like so many of our dogs, from a family with no time for a big dog. He is described as active, friendly, independent, protective, playful, and affectionate. He is said to be house broken and will stand at the door when he needs to go potty. He will bark and get very excited when strangers come to the door. He enjoys a great back scratch. He has lived with children and a small dog. He will chase a car if given the chance. This guy is looking for a fenced yard, a family with time for him and someone willing to consistently work with him.

Jack

Jack Russell Terrier Rat Terrier

Burlington, WA
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less

Story
Jack is a Jack-Rat Terrier mix that needs to be the only animal in the home although he will tolerate other well balanced dogs. He has been employed by the shelter as a ratter, so his house manners will need work. He eats anything left out, marks his territory and is the cutest scoundrel. He has found his passion in hunting rats. He really enjoys this and should go to a home that will encourage and continue his hunting. He needs a child free home because he can bite when overstimulated. He is crate trained. He is a Terrier for sure, and he is not afraid to prove it. He needs a fully fenced, stable environment. He can be suspicious of new people but once he accepts a person, he is happy to hang out. He is only 3 years old and has so much life to live. If you are looking for a project/rat hunter dog, Jack may be your guy.

Story
Rocki is going to need a job. He is super high energy and casual walks will not be enough for this crazy guy. He wants to please and once he knows what you want from him he is a superstar. He does know `leave it` and `this way` but he needs a lot of positive training in order to harness his energy a bit. This dog could use a big fenced yard, cows to herd and a soft place to land when the work day is done. Cats may not be the best companion for this guy.

Story
Mozart is a fun, joyful puppy to be with. He has puppy energy and he`s a big boy so he`ll need training to learn his manners. He`s attentive to his person, so training and being out and about will be successful. He likes to run about and play ball, as well as have some very nice cuddly down time. He does prefer to be the only dog in the home.

Patron

Chihuahua

Male, 7 yrs 2 mos
Burlington, WA
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less

Story
Patron originally came to the shelter as a stray with 4 other dogs. They were abandoned in a wire kennel, at an unoccupied house. Given the traumatic experience and his kennel mates all getting homes, it can be hard for him to trust but it doesn`t take long with patience. He doesn`t see well, so another dog that fits his energy would be good for him or he would just love to sit on ones lap and enjoy your company. If you would like to open your home to this poor senior boy please given us a call at 360-757-0445.

Story
Cooper is a really sweet, young shepherd mix with big dark eyes, soft lil ears and a happy smile once he gets to know you. Give Cooper just a little bit of time when you first meet him for his personality to really come out. Once he gains some confidence in you, his playful happy self shines through. He loves to play ball and after getting some of the wiggles out he turned out to be quite the cuddly companion. He seems to know the basics of come and sit, but he`ll need to work on his leash manners. The more familiarity and confidence he has in you, the more he wants to please. Come give Cooper a visit and some time to really get to him... he`s a sweetie.
