Story
She was in a home with a male cat, but she liked to chase him. She seemed to be mistreated by previous owners. She will cower if she thinks she is in trouble or if we raise our voices. Is worse if my wife does instead of me. She gets along great with our 5 yr old male Golden Retriever. She is housebroken and understands basic commands. She barks a lot and that scares our 5 yr old grandson. We took her to dog parks and doggie day care with no issues. Vet checked and shots updated September 2024.

Story
Trixie was rescued in California, seemed to get along with any animals in the house but one dog that was aggressive towards her. And we don’t want her being sweet to be ruined so it would be best for her to go to a home that didn’t have other animals. She’s a sweetheart and two yrs old. A lot of love to give!

Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hi, I’m Kinnari, but you can call me Ki! I was rescued from the south of Troncones, where I was taking shelter in a construction site during the rains. Thankfully, a kind person spotted me and, with the help of SFS, I was able to get the medical care I needed. My journey wasn’t easy, though. After I was taken to a temporary foster home, I disappeared for over a month, and everyone was so worried about me. Just when they thought they’d lost me, I showed up again in late November, and because of my gentle nature, I was finally rescued. I’m still growing into my body, and my ears are as adorable as ever! I’m a curious and eager pup, excited to learn and experience more of the world around me. I’m working on mastering leash walking and would love to have a patient person to help me grow into the confident, well-behaved dog I’m destined to be. I’m also ready to snuggle, play, and shower my new family with love and affection. I may have had a rough start, but I’m full of hope and ready for a fresh beginning. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and loyal companion to join your family, I might just be the perfect fit. Could you be the one to give me my forever home? Story
Courtesy Post ***Currently located in Downey, CA*** Meet Bobby! Bobby was found as a stray on April 3, 2023, and despite our best efforts to locate his original family through posters and social media, no one has come forward to claim him. This sweet boy is now ready to find his forever home with a loving family who will cherish him. Bobby is neutered and has already proven to be a well-mannered dog who is both crate-trained and potty-trained, making him a wonderful addition to any home. Bobby is an affectionate and friendly companion who loves people of all ages, including small children. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, so he would be a great fit in a multi-pet household. Whether you're looking for a cuddle buddy to relax with or an energetic partner to join you on walks, hikes, and outdoor adventures, Bobby is eager to be by your side and share in your daily activities. This loving and loyal boy is ready to find the family he has been waiting for. If you're looking for a dog who is well-adjusted, easygoing, and ready to bring joy to your home, Bobby could be the perfect fit. He's looking for his very own human(s) to shower with love and create lasting memories together. Could that be you?   This is a COURTESY POST for Bobby Boy and Mutt Hut Rescue. Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hi! I’m Brownie! And if you’re looking for a sweet spot in your life, I’m your girl. Like a lot of the dogs in Mexico, I was roaming the streets for the first seven months of my life, looking for food and love and somewhere warm to call my own. I was lucky enough to not have had any puppies of my own during that time, because taking care of myself was more than enough! When I was picked up by the rescue, there was some hope that I was finally on my way to brighter days.My friends here say that I’m a sweet girl with lots and lots of energy. When I play, I play HARD, and all I want to do is play! Just making up for lost time, I guess. I would do so well in a house with other dogs or lots of playdates and fun activities! Despite my past, I am already warm and affectionate with my human friends. I haven’t met very many, though, so I can be a bit timid at times. Anyone looking to bring me into their home should be prepared to spend one on one time with me not only so that I can learn how to be a girl of high society, but also so I can build the trust I so desperately want with a person. I am learning quickly how to be a pet, but it’s helpful for my friends to remember that I wasn’t a pet for the first formative months of my life.I hope that you’ll consider welcoming me into your family. At the end of a long day, I promise that a Brownie is all you need!Love and facelicks, your Brownie   If you are interested in FOSTERING, click on the Foster Button and fill out the online Foster Application If you are interested in ADOPTING, click on the Adopt Button and fill out the online Adoption Application Check out our VOLUNTEER Opportunities here https://www.surfersforstrays.org/get-involved  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Story
***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hello from the Tour de France Litter!  My name is Rimini and I and my 5 siblings were named after some famous cities of the Tour de France! While we are born in a surf hotspot, we are definitely sporty pups and are proud name bearers connected to such a paw-some event! We were born in an empoverished village in Guerrero, Mexico. Our mom is a beloved family dog, but her owners were not able to cover her sterilization. This is a vicious circle because then she had us, 6 more dogs to feed for the family, that barely had enough money to sustain themselves.  Of course we didn't see a vet in our early days, were infested by fleas and ticks and had no vaccines to protect us from the fatal viruses like Distemper or Parvo that are a consistent threat in our village. The family eventually realized that they needed help and contacted Surfers for Strays, who immediately came to our rescue.  The volunteers of the organization brought bags of food for our mom and the two other family dogs, gave us our first vaccines and also made sure we finally got rid of those itchy ticks and fleas. We received a bath with nice warm water, some not so nice tasting dewormer and lots and lots of cuddles and love. While we were waiting for space to open up at the rescue facility we got regular visits from the volunteers, who made sure we were doing well and they also brought lots of love and treats. We couldn't help ourselves but fall in love with them! And so, we were not really sad, when one day they came and brought us to our new residence. We were over the moon, when we saw the cosy beds , the fresh water without any algues , a basket full of toys and our very own food bowls  ! Our mom and the other two dogs at our birth place are now sterilized - Surfers for Strays organized and paid for that! Our quarantine time was a blast for us, getting healthier and spunkier every day! After being medically cleared we were finally able to meet the other dogs at the shelter and oh we love to romp around with them. We get to go on walks, meet new volunteers and sometimes new dogs, eat plenty of food to grow big and strong and we are just enjoying life! We are very gentle players and are not hyper active, while still being full of fun puppy energy. We are crate trained (we eat and sleep in there) but we also love to cuddle with the volunteers on the bed. Life is good. BUT. We heard it will get even better - with our very own fur-ever family!!! We heard so much about the life that awaits us in the US or Canada once we get adopted - we cannot stop dreaming about it! We want that, too! I am so excited to hear from you (soon!)
