Story
Grampaw is Wonderfully silly, Gangly, all paws & happy mouth. He's not bright but will surprise you w/ clever. He was adopted/ fostered from a lil mountain town, hours away from the concrete jungle. Our family can see the want of more space. He'd love a large yard or property to roam & a family to come back to. He loves car rides, pup cups & bubbles. He's 7-8 years old, but you can't tell. With little to no encouragement, He has a potty spot. Isn't that nice of him. Makes clean ups easier.

Story
Lona is a 4 year old black lab retriever mix with colli. She is super sweet. She was born early 2020 so socializing her as a growing puppy was difficult. She is great with other dogs/cats/kids but can be anxious at first. I used to live on a 1 acre lot that she had free roam of. However, a little over a year ago I moved in to a rental with much less space and now work significantly more hours. As a result, her anxiety has increases and she is very restless. I am looking for someone or a family with lots of space and time to spend with her.

Story
Meet Caleb! An adorable 2-year-old dachshund weighing 11 lbs. and super sweet!! He is looking for his forever home after being in foster care and learning that love is gentle, patient, understanding, and kind. Caleb's past life was unkind and little by little, the past is becoming a distant memory. He is playful, sweet, a loving boy who like every dachshund, is vocal, very treat motivated, doesn't like the cold/rain, and can de-squeak a toy in seconds!! He gets along with both women & men but does prefer females. Caleb is a work in progress with his potty training however he is completely pee pad trained (keeping in mind that a new change will nonetheless bring a few accidents). Through no fault of his own, Caleb will easily learn to go outside with your positive encouragement and guidance - his past trauma was potty related where he lived in car, was scolded and learned to hold it for a very long time). He is crate trained and walks fairly nicely on leash. Caleb has fully recovered from IVDD and therefore his home will have limited stairs, keep his weight ideal, no jumping, and fed a high-quality diet with a good joint supplement. Caleb enjoys canine companionship of similar size & age, gets along with dog savvy cats, and children who are older 12+ (he does not like quick movements). HIs best life includes: Single family residence with a fully fenced & secured yard (no exceptions) Works a hybrid schedule, part-time, early retired Breed specific knowledge and experience (he is not for first time dog guardians) Active Quality time exploring the outdoors Follows and practices positive force free training guidelines Lives in a peaceful, quiet, rural area (city life is not for Caleb) Caleb is fostered in Vancouver, WA Only serious inquiries and matches will be replied to. Applications can be completed by visiting our website: Hearts4Doxies Rescue.

Story
Beautiful Brody is a very friendly boy that is looking for someone to take him hiking. Running, long walks and playing at the beach are favorite pastimes also. He loves to have his doggie pals on outings with him, and he’s great in pack walks, but another dog in the home is not required. He is very social and enjoys meeting new people, And he’s affectionate with everyone he meets. He would even be a lapdog if he could. Brody is especially drawn to men so an athletically active guy would be ideal. He is now almost 2yrs old, and weighs approx 60lbs. Brody is a very athletically active, smart boy that thrives on his daily exercise, then he’ll come home to relax on the floor and play with his toys. He has already had some basic training and has some manners, although an experienced large dog person to help Brody maintain his polite behavior is required. He’s a young boy so with just a little more time and with a committed, loving person, he will be the perfect canine citizen in no time. He loves car rides so he could even be a companion for someone that drives for a living. He is crate and house trained so he can stay home for a reasonable amount of time. Brody must have a 6ft, securely fenced yard. Kids must be over 10yrs old and no kitties please.

Story
Lucky is truly a lucky boy! He was turned in to a high kill Ca shelter with a fractured front leg. (He has since recovered and has no activity limitations). They immediately sent him to their vet to be euthanized. The vet found that he’s a very sweet, affectionate, easy going, 60lb boy and they wanted to save his life. Lucky enough, we’ve worked with this vet in previous rescue endeavors so they reached out for help. After considerable negotiations with the shelter, they agreed to release ownership to us. Thank goodness! We had no idea how wonderful he really is! Lucky gets along great with other dogs and would actually do best with another easy going dog in the home. He’s tolerant of young puppy energy but he’s about 6yrs old now and much prefers a middle aged pal to hang out with. He also wonderful with kitties. He’s wonderful with people, too, so kids over 8yrs old is fine. He is very affectionate so lots of cuddle time is required. Lucky loves to be outside to just hang out and explore so a 5ft or higher securely fenced yard is required. He is completely house and crate trained so he can be left home alone for a reasonable amount of hours. Lucky walks great on a leash but he can sometimes get a little anxious when he sees other dogs, unless he’s walking with his k9 pal. So an experienced person that can walk two dogs is best. This very special boy is ready for his own, very lucky home that will take him hiking, camping and give him lots of cuddle time.

Story
Silly as can be Jenny is now about 10mo old and weighs approx 25lbs. She is clearly a Corgi mix but with what, we don’t know. This sweet girl has come a very long way in the last few months. Due to being hit by a car (we assume), she almost lost her life. She had numerous broken bones, along with some other stress to some nerves at the base of her spine so we thought she may not recover. Our specialist recommended that we amputate her tail to try and help the healing process, and it worked! Her bones and nerve endings have healed, and she is now ready for her own, forever home. She is a very silly, happy girl that runs and plays with her foster siblings, with no restrictions. She is now also house and crate trained. Jenny loves to learn new things so she must have a person that will continue her training. She absolutely loves to play with other dogs so another dog in the home is a must. She’s also great with the kitties. She is doing great with her leash training and loves to go on walks or even light hikes, but because of past injuries to her back legs, running or jogging on concrete is not an option. She must have a 5ft or higher fenced yard and she should not be left alone for more that 5-6 hr intervals.
