Story
Benny was returned to us at the age of 8 months through no fault of his own. He had never been set boundaries or taught basic obedience. He has come along way since we took him back in. Benny has transitioned to a home environment and is thriving! He shows no signs of aggression and interacts well with dogs of all sizes. He appears to understand the need to be gentle with smaller or older dogs. When it comes to cats, he's friendly, although he tends to chase them if they run-it's all in good fun! An encounter with a non-fleeing cat suggests he's playful rather than harmful. Benny is also comfortable around children of various ages and has significantly improved his play manners with other dogs. Currently, he's mastering his recall skills, walks quite well on a leash, and is familiar with the commands 'sit' and 'down' (still perfecting these), as well as 'wait'. He's also been able to be left alone out of his crate and has not been naughty! He's a happy and energetic dog! His ideal family would be with a fenced yard, he'd be happiest with another dog. He would love walking and even some hiking! He absolutely loves to ride in the car so he would be great company when running errands. While he is utilizing a crate currently (we encourage all fosters to crate train) and he's very well-mannered in it, he may finally be to the age he could start having more freedom...but we'd encourage to start with short periods of time since he still only a 1 1/2 year old Puppy! He would benefit from continued work on his obedience and not to someone who will be lax as with being a bigger dog, its even more important to have a well behaved dog. Benny loves to please! Benny is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350. WWW.mainstreetmuttrescue.com under adopt if you are interested in applying!

Story
Riley is a high energy dog that is very protective and has been described as a bit of a diva in our local dog group. She is extremely affectionate and loves to have your undivided attention whenever she sees fit. Riley does great around most other dogs and loves to socialize at the dog park with her friends. We acquired Riley from some neighbors that had an unplanned litter and did not have the space to take care of them. Riley is two years old, housetrained, and with a confident owner has been very trainable if only a little strong willed.

Story
Lexie..she's been here awhile! Honestly, she's an excellent dog but requires a structured family. She's fearful of strangers, and although we're addressing it, she needs time to warm up to new people. She may bark and growl, but if you disregard her and allow her to approach you on her terms, she integrates you seamlessly into her pack. She may not be the dog for everyone, but she isn't a challenging pet either. She's highly food-motivated, house-trained, walks well on a leash, understands the command to sit, and has a good recall within her fenced yard (as we don't practice off-leash). She behaves well indoors, although she's likely to eat your food if you leave it unattended - a habit that probably won't change. LMAO She adores stuffed toys, enjoys car rides, and is fond of walking and hiking. She's intelligent, yet can be a couch potato on less active days. Belly rubs are her favorite. Her silly and goofy nature, once she's comfortable with you, will keep you laughing constantly. Truthfully, I'm not super experienced with dogs like her. But I've really had no issues if I just let her do her thing with new people. IF I don't want to deal with it because it's a person that is only there for a second I tell her kennel and she runs right in. No problem. We want her in a no kids family or older kids. Active is great whether just walking her taking her on adventures. Someone that is comfortable and experienced with dogs as she wouldn't be a good fit for a first-time dog owner. Would prefer they own a home with a fenced yard as she loves to be outside. Applications are at www.mainstreetmuttrescue.com Adoption fee is $325 and she's spayed, up to date on vaccines and chipped

Story
Chunk is one of seven pups we've welcomed from a foster's family in California. Aged between five and six months, they're a bit timid, with varying degrees of shyness, yet each has begun to blossom as they grow more accustomed to their surroundings. They would all thrive in a home that has another dog for companionship. Adoption fee is $400 www.mainstreetmuttrescue.com
