Story
Hey party people! My name is Jellyfish, but you can just can just go ahead and start calling me "the best dog in the whole wide world," if ya want! I am a 3-5 year old gal, who came to SVASC when my previous family was unable to keep me. I can take a bit to warm up to new folks and do like to take my time getting to know new friends, but once I know and trust you, man am I a ham! I love to go for walks, play outside, and especially love rolling around on my back for tummy rubs! When I'm happy, I have the best zoomies and just love to race around the yard and then come back for kisses. I am food motivated and very eager to please, so I pick up on new tricks and commands quickly. I am good with other dogs that are my size or larger; please bring them along to meet me when you come to visit! I would do best in a calmer home with 1-2 other dogs or being in the spotlight. I am a star, after all! I do walk very nicely on leash and I do appear to be house-trained. Plus, with me by your side, you'll never feel alone again! My adoption fee is SPONSORED to an approved adopter! All of my vetting has been taken care of and I'm ready to go home. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Jellyfish!

Story
Polaroid is a handsome Plott Hound on the hunt for his new forever home. Polaroid adores meeting new people - his enthusiasm knows no bounds! If you've got a hand free for pets and ear scratches, you'll be his favorite! Polaroid loves outdoor escapades, whether it's a leisurely walk or a good old romp in the yard. He gets along famously with other dogs, and he loves kids, too. His previous owner lost their home, which is why Polaroid is with us. He's ready to share his sweet and affectionate nature with someone special. Currently in a foster home, please call the shelter to set up a meet & greet! updated 9/10/24

Story
previously "Deciduous" - June Bug's foster has been calling her so for so long that it stuck! All about this sweet lady: Junie is [mostly] house- and crate-trained, knows basic commands and is very eager to please. Her main goal in life is to soak up as much love as possible! Junie is low to medium energy, just looking for a comfy lap or bed to curl up in and snooze until the next adventure! As far as that hound howl, June Bug is fairly quiet unless CAT! or someone else is getting more scritches than her. She lets you know when she's not getting enough attention! Junie loves cuddle puddles with her current foster pack, two & four legged, even trying to squeeze in where there's nooot exactly enough room to the point where she's fallen off the bed & couch several times! Because Junie likes all the attention for herself, she would likely be just as happy as an only pet. This goofy girl also LOVES car rides - that feeling of the wind through her floppy ears - and SQUEAKY TOYS! She will never get enough of them! True, Junie isn't a huge fan of baths, but feels soooo starved for attention that she tolerates them, and nail trims, without much fuss. Any press is good press, right? If you're looking for a laid back gal to snuggle, nap or take a leisurely hike with, JUNE BUG is your lady! Call the shelter to set up a meet & greet with June Bug's foster: updated: 10/28/24

Story
Courtesy Post - Luna Rae; not located at SVASC Read more about her below: "Hi, my name is Luna Rae aka "Bug" I am a boxer/terrier/pit mix and just turned three on December 29th! I am very energetic and get super excited when people come around, but no worries - I do calm down and become quite the love bug. I am hoping to be adopted by someone where I can be the ONLY pet, as I love ALL the attention and just have so much love to share. I am up to date on my shots and have been spayed and microchipped. I am also crate trained and house broken! I love chewing on my bones and sometimes climb up in your lap and see if you want to try and take it from me. I haven't been exposed to many young kids so my energy may be a bit much for them and tend to jump up, but I am doing better with that. I know commands such as sit, crate and treat.....oh how I love treats and I have been known to give some high fives. I will tell you that I am not a fan of the vacuum cleaner that thing is loud, and I will go after it so it doesn't get you." For more information, reach out to Luna Rae's human at kejmom729@gmail.com
