Story
The Bull Terrier is an iconic dog, undoubtedly one of the most recognizable breeds. These terriers pack a lot of personality in their bodies and are known for being loyal dogs that can excel in many roles. Izzy #hmrizzybt is absolutely no exception. She went from living in a home her whole life to being taken to a very crowded shelter the day after Christmas, the shelter was told she didn’t like the new puppy. Confused and terrified she was barking at people as they passed her kennel, definitely not looking like a sweet family pet. Fortunately, a volunteer saw past her anxious behavior and she was whisked out of there. She immediately relaxed as she rode in a new truck, with new people, new people that she sensed safe. It became obvious when we started working Izzy she didn’t know what other dogs were, we can only assume she had lived alone her life and the shock of a new dog was immense. Given time and support she had come around very quickly, now confidently going on walks with other dogs and will continue to work on her social skills this week. This girl adores women, she is initially cautious of men (we assume there is a story here….) but is quickly learning to trust. Her Christmas may have been horrible but we are wishing the new year brings her a new and better life. Izzy is 4 yrs old and 40 lbs. In Warrenton, Virginia currently. We will be continuing on her training this week but expect she will be confident and ready for a new home soon. Story
Stella is a sweet girl who was born April 15, 2025. She loves to run outside just as much as she loves to hangout and nap inside. She loves playing with other dogs as well as fetching doggy footballs or balls outside. She is potty trained, and prefers to go potty off leash. Stella is the type of pup who needs someone who can be around often, or at least can get her energy out prior to leaving. She is curious, and if left to wonder, may find something of interest to explore :) She means well! She just loves being in the company of others as often as possible. Stella prefers to snuggle at nighttime rather than in a crate. She loves to play with other dogs and is very submissive. I wish I could bring her to my new place with me but it just is not possible sadly. I’m hoping Stella finds a home that has the time and space to love her! She is not spayed yet however that is due to her being too young for the procedure.

Story
Meet Lotti! This 62-lb lap dog (yes, you read that right!) is a sweet-as-pie, cuddly Pittie mix ready to stick to your side like velcro. She was born around May 2024 and recently found herself looking for a new family after being surrendered in October 2025. Lotti comes spayed, microchipped, and totally up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. She’s as ready as can be for a forever home!Lotti LOVES her people and would be perfectly content if she could curl up inside your heart all day long. She will charm you with her knowledge of basic commands and eagerness to learn more and please you. She gets along well with other dog pals and, while she’s a little unsure about cats, she can live alongside them. This respectful, affectionate girl is hoping to find someone who doesn’t mind a big shadow because she’ll be following you everywhere!Interested in meeting your new best friend? Come visit Lotti at the shelter any day, except Wednesdays, between 12-4:00 and see if you’ve just found your perfect match!
