Story
APPLY HERE https://is.gd/pawsfor&#226&#128&#139seniorsapp (Application opens in a new browser window.) We are not sure what breed 4 year old Nugget is, but we think he may be a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. We wish they had a breed called "Sweet" as Nugget would be a perfect example of the breed. Nugget was surrendered to a shelter due to owner health. The shelter manager said It was a very sad day when the owner turned him in with many tears. She loved him dearly. Nugget gets along with other dogs his size and he runs and plays with the other dogs in the foster's home.  He requires a secure fenced-in yard where he can concentrate on just having fun, running and romping around with other members of the pack. Nuggett is also okay with the resident cats and we think he would be okay with older children as well. He is a healthy little 13 pound boy who is neutered and recieved an intake health exam, HW testing, rabies and distemper vaccinations and a microchip.  Nugget is ready for cuddles and snuggles and is looking forward to the next chapter in his life. Adopt this little guy and feel the love! Paws For Seniors Adoption Process Thank you for your interest in adopting a Paws For Seniors pet. Story
APPLY HERE https://is.gd/pawsfor&#226&#128&#139seniorsapp (Application opens in a new browser window.) Squirt is a sweet 6 year old Chihuahua who was surrendered to the shelter due to owner health. The owner took very good care of him and loved him dearly. Squirt is a cuddler and a lover boy. He is all about you and he will listen to you, follow you, sit and cuddle with you, and he will want to sleep in your bed. He is very accomadating so a doggie bed next to you is ok too, or a crate with a nice soft bed will be fine. He sleeps quietly through the night and he must have "blankies," as he likes to borrow under them. So, if you can't find Squirt, make sure you look closely under all the blankets or a pile of clothes. He has made us chuckle more than once. Squirt is very smart and will learn your routine quickly.  He gets along great with other dogs  his size and it would be great if he had a secure fenced in yard and  a companion where they can just  concentrate on just having fun, running and romping around with themselves and other members of the pack. He also is okay with cats and we think older kids will be okay as well. Squirt is a healthy 8 pound little boy who is neutered and recieved an intake exams, HW testing, rabies and distemper vaccinations and a microchip. His life is "On-Hold" right now; waiting for that special loving family!  Paws For Seniors Adoption Process Thank you for your interest in adopting a Paws For Seniors pet. Story
APPLY HERE https://is.gd/pawsfor&#226&#128&#139seniorsapp (Application opens in a new browser window.) Naga is said to be a 12 year old Chihuahua mix but he acts much younger. When you look at him and his pointed ears, it reminds us of a Schipperke  dog breed  mix but we are not sure. What we do know is little 12 pound Naga is a great dog that loves the company of his people. He is very smart, actually listens, and is all about making you happy; he will make a great addition to any home. He is a healthy little boy that came to us when their owner had to go into an assisted living facility. They took very good care of their pets. Naga gets along well with other dogs his size and is okay with cats. Gala is very quiet and he likes to sit next to you during TV time. He sleeps through the night and knows to do his business outside. His only wish is to celebrate the holidays in his new home.  Paws For Seniors Adoption Process Thank you for your interest in adopting a Paws For Seniors pet. Story
Athena is not at the the shelter.  She is listed as a courtesy to her owner who needs to rehome her.  Please contact Maggie (540-631-1395) for more information.   Meet Athena. 45lb, 2.5 year old Pittie baby, looking for her forever family. Removed from a neglectful situation, we have been fostering her for several months. Athena is eager to please and knows commands. I have also taught her to sing, when asked. Too cute!  Are you a hiker? Well Athena may just be the girl for you. I take her out on the trails and we have done 20+ miles in a single day. Ever aware and always protective of her hiking companion, this girl has the energy and the loyalty to make a great trail dog.  Not a hiker? No worries. Athena also loves to chew on antlers, peanut butter kongs, loves squeakers and play fetch. She is also the queen of snuggles. She prefers sleeping and cuddling with her person at night. Can't go wrong with this little girl for a cuddle buddy.  We were told she gets along with other dogs. But the four dogs we have now don't get along with her. So, she is kept separate. She would be best with a solo companion or someone with experience with this breed.  We do not know how she is with kids.  She has all of her shots. We were told that she wasn't fixed, however, we have had her for almost a year and she hasn't gone into heat.  This little girl needs a stable and lasting home. We are determined to find her the perfect family, so she never has to go through neglect or abandonment again. We want her to be adored.  If interested, we would love to set up a meet and greet......call Maggie at 540-631-1395  November 5, 2024, 1:29 pm

Story
Sweet Roxy is around 8 years old. She is very skittish of new people and it may take a couple of meets to make her comfortable. She would do best in a home with no cats, livestock, or farm animals, and can potentially be around other dogs as long as they aren't to pushy or playful as she just wants to co exist with them. She is very sweet once she gets comfortable with you and knows that she is safe. She walk great on leash especially considering her size. If you have room for a loving, sweet, senior that wants a home of her own please apply today. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting?
