Story
Meet Zelda, a spirited one-year-old German Shepherd from Roanoke, VA, whose energy and devotion are as boundless as the open sky on a crisp autumn day! Zelda’s playful nature is matched only by her incredible loyalty, making her the ideal companion for an active family ready to share adventures and endless moments of joy. Zelda’s favorite pastimes include playing fetch, chasing after heavy-duty balls, and delighting in the squeak of her favorite toys! She lives for those long walks! While Zelda hasn’t received formal obedience training yet, she’s already picked up a few commands like sit, paw, and down - showing her potential to learn even more with the right guidance. House and crate trained. Has lived with other large dogs and young children. High prey drive around cats and rabbits. May do best as the only dog in the home as she likes to play rough and has a lot of energy! Will come with collar, prong collar, leash, crate, some toys, bowl, and a container of her dog food.

Story
Millie is approximately 4-5 years old and has lived with my daughter and I for a year. She came to us as a result of a break up in Millie’s original home, as her owner moved out after rescuing her from an abusive situation. She had been crated all day and/or left outside with little human contact as well as physically abused. She is smart, energetic, loyal, leash trained but aggressive towards other dogs and people especially if her person walks her. I’ve been walking her before dawn so as not to run into people or dogs. She loves my other dog, our cat, and my grandchildren. She is, however, loving in a protective way and doesn’t seek out the children to play with her. She needs an owner who has time to train her and able to let her run and work to keep her mind and body busy. She will bark at people walking by and/or entering our house but settles if spoken to and petted. She is on Apoquel for allergies and is prone to ear infections. She is anxious and the vet sedates her to groom.

Story
I’ve had domino since i was 10 years old, a gift from my father that is no longer around so it’s very important that he goes to a good home, he is 10 years old. Domino is a very sweet loving boy he loves anybody who loves him . He loves to cuddle. He is a bit reactive and will require patience when introducing to other dogs. It’s probably best that he is in a home with older children but he is great with kids, just big and hyper despite his age. He is trained on an invisible electric fence and he does great with that. If you don’t have a tall privacy fence it’s best to take him out on a leash as he had a history of jumping a fence when he was younger. My reason for rehoming has nothing to do with him but I have a toddler and 3 other dogs of my own and 3 more other dogs in the house and it’s just too much for me. I’ve chosen him because he will thrive with like I said anybody who loves him. I would just like for him to have a best rest of his life , better than I can provide.

Story
Journey has been at the rescue for close to 3 years! Despite his lengthy stay he has continued to be incredibly sweet and affectionate. He is not only friendly towards humans, but also plays well with other dogs, making him an ideal companion for a multi-dog household. He is playful - loves toys. Journey also enjoys meeting new people, always hoping that one of the new humans will take him home. It is hard to believe that this friendly guy has been in rescue for most of his life. Is it because he isn't as pretty as some other dogs? It certainly isn't because of his behavior. Journey is waiting to have a home of his own with people who will provide him with the love and attention he deserves. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering.
