Story
Tonka came to us with an unknown past and a too tight collar. He followed a friend home and we took him in. Our two dogs, Luna,f,35lbs, + Chunky,m,70lbs, were smitten with him as were our 3 cats. He was about 1 yr old then, skinny and weak. Chunky took him under his wing and they were great pals. Luna, our alpha, schooled him appropriately. Things were fine until a 4th dog and her owner joined the pack for 6 months. During that time things changed and in Sept., Chunky attacked Tonka at mealtime. Then 3 more fights over 2 weeks (oddly fine in between) until the last one which resulted in us moving Tonka to our RV with my husband. I live in the house w/the other pets. The 4th dog is gone now but too late. We had a hard decision but Chunky is 7, and we;ve had him since he was a pup. Also in the last fight, Tonka bit my husband as he was separating them. We still love him and think he;d be a superb companion to someone who works from home and/or has some cats. Best cuddler ever!

Story
This sweet fellow was adopted as a young puppy and recently returned to us with no socialization whatsoever. His breed (Belgian Malinois) and age demands that he find a home willing to put in the time for training and socialization so that he can be a well rounded and well behaved adult. We may have failed to find that home the first time around, but we will not let him down again. We are looking for experienced and prepared owners this time around. He is a sweet, smart, beautiful boy that deserves the best.

Story
TRAINER FAVORITE -- shelter stressed right now due to a LONG shelter stay. Has been with us since April 2021! Dogs: loves most female dogs, non confrontational male dogs Cats: has not tested well with cats at the shelter Kids: a home no kids is ideal but could adjust to older kids (14+) I'm so smart. I know sit, down (lay down), I can give paw, and the recall work we've done show promise for a "come" command. I want to be a loyal boy to someone who truly sees my potential. Arrived in April 2021 and was great with dogs, new people, etc. After a few months, Breki was stressed and anxious, and began acting reactively towards all of the people "staring in" at him through the glass as well as towards other dogs who went past, barking, etc. Our trainer noticed this as a behavior change so our clinic started Breki on a medication to help him feel less anxious and threatened. This is really helping, but he can be standoffish with people through barriers. We believe this to be due to shelter stress which can cause dogs to become depressed or show behaviors that are not typical of their usual behaviors. With familiar staff Breki is goofy, playful, very much focused on being with you and pleasing you. He gets along with other dogs who are friendly and playful.

Story
Looking for a smart, well-trained, confident dog? RBG is your lady. She walks nicely on a leash, can sit, lay down, shake, already house trained. You name it and this girl can learn it. She meets people great and will continue to improve outside of the shelter. She has gorgeous markings and an adorable underbite. She has made other dog friends before and is a happy/goofy girl, but the shelter stress has made it harder for her to do so lately. After being with us a year, it takes a toll on them, so she needs a home willing to give her a few months to settle in and slowly get to know everyone. She loves being with people and has a nice mix of playful and chill which means I'm happy to spend that lazy Saturday next to you or go for a hike.
