Story
Hi there, I'm Toby in Norfolk! As an 8-month-old puppy, I am full of energy and curiosity. I love exploring new places, sniffing new smells, and playing outside. I'm extremely food motivated, quite smart and a quick learner! I love playing fetch, chase, and keep away. I go on walks daily, sometimes when my foster parents are on bikes (and I can jog). I need exercise every day, because with activity, I'm much more well-mannered. I'm very affectionate once I get comfortable with you. My foster family is working on my stranger-danger and improving my social skills since I had little human interaction or training as a younger pup. I'm neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. I can be a bit nervous and shy at first, I'll probably even bark at you, but once I get to know you I'm as loving and loyal as they come. I'm very obedient and always eager to please. I learned how to use the doggie door in one day, but I occasionally still have excited-pee moments. I get a bath, my nails trimmed, and my teeth brushed with no complaints! I know several commands like sit, wait and down and I usually sleep through the night in my own dog bed without any fuss. I have a big case of FOMO, so I'm good in a crate for about 3 hours with a chew bone or lick mat, but I still may cry and bark when left. I love to go bye-bye and I'm great in the car. My foster family takes me on lots of field trips, and I go to work with my foster dad sometimes too. I have two foster fur sisters that I continue to learn from daily. I'd do best in a home with another doggie sibling to help build my confidence and continue to learn how to dog. I'll need an active parent or family as I have a lot of energy, but I really do settle down after exercise. I'm working on down and because I still jump up on my favorite people, older kids would probably be best for me. I'm looking for an active and patient home that will nurture my playful puppy spirit and provide lots of fun and love. I promise I'm worth it! Adopt me and let's make some wonderful memories together! (Toby will need more than one meet and greet due to his shyness) If Toby sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
We are offering the most regal and unusual Norwegian Elkhound female, named Svart (meaning dark in color) but we prefer to call her “Cleopatra”.  This gorgeous girl is the leader and Queen of them all.  Regal and fully confident, she is everything we know Cleopatra to have been back in her days of making history.  She is the epitome of a queen that is full of reigning power in her breeding pack.  This 5.5 year old girl is gorgeous and is 65 pounds.  Undeniably in charge , Cleopatra Svart insists on being the focus of your family’s life.  She can live in peace with other dogs but we don't think she would be good at dog parks with dogs rushing up to her face with no introduction. She is happy with all the humans she meets and she is part of a large pack of breeder dogs that her owner is asking Critter Cavalry Rescue to help place. She is downsizing and getting out of the breeding business.  Our Svart AKA Cleopatra, needs a place of her own inside a home with her dog bed throne to await her.  If you are interested in this regal queen, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com She is ready for YOU to walk her down the red carpet to her new home. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
Gregarious Gail, as we call her, is just 21 months old and is a true beauty of a pure bred Norwegian Elkhound.  She possesses all the wonderful traits through and through. Gail is a special girl because as a puppy she had an infection that caused her to lose her tail and two toes on her back feet.  She is so cute with the shorter tail and it hasn't slowed her down a bit. In fact, Gail is a very active and athletic lady who can jump, run, spin and play.  Gail hasn't had much of a start in life and she deserves much more.   She is outgoing and very sweet and just a touch shy at first when she meets new people and new situations.  Critter Cavalry rescued her an overwhelmed Elkhound breeder and has promised this loving, loyal and friendly girl, to give her a family that will recognize her special bright spirit.  She gets along well with others and goodness just look at that beautiful face. She is going to make some person or family so very happy.  This rare breed is known for being extremely loyal, intelligent and sensitive.    If you are interested in owning a breed that is fast becoming rare in the U.S. then please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is ready for a fresh new start to her young life. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
Momma Donna is a Kelpie/Heeler mix girl that gave birth 3 months ago to 8 beautiful, wonderful Heeler puppies. This girl is 2 years old and only 42 pounds.  She is amazingly smart and seems to know exactly what you are saying to her.  We think that Momma Donna would be a perfect addition to a home with children who want to play and teach a dog some good tricks and manners.  She is willing to learn anything. Momma Donna is nicely housebroken and ready for a totally great and new life.  Momma Donna just needs a place to belong.   So, do you have a front porch and a hole in your heart ready to be filled by a loving and devoted dog who wants to walk down the road with you every day?   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in Momma Donna.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 31, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
Hello rescue lovers, my name is Serene Sandy and I am an 11 month old Shepherd mix girl that is only 40lbs right now and probably not going to be over 45 pounds as an adult. I am a snuggly gal, that is calm and boy do I love kisses, I am super playful and I like to show off how fast I can run and jump, which is really high too.  My favorite game is “tug a toy “and during this pretty Fall, I sometimes try to catch leaves as they fall from the trees, but then I get distracted when I see an airplane or a bird, Yup, you got it I'm a silly, goofy gal too! I am crate trained, potty trained, and I am working on my leash skills. (I get so excited that I always want to run and play), I know some basic commands and I am up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. I get along well with other dogs, and people of all ages. I have not been around cats or other small animals. I am looking for my forever home. but I am a curious climber out of the fenced yard,  so a privacy fence would work well unless you have me on a leash when outside with you.   I am a curious, calm, goofy girl with a ton of curiosity that leads me to great adventures! If you are looking for a playful, loving, adventurous girl, look no further because I am the answer to your dog search! Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 31, 2024, 2:39 pm
