Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. TANIA & TIARA were saved by SAVE KOREAN DOGS from Tobong Dog Slaughterhouse on June 29th 2022  from a horrendous and painful evil death. She arrived in the US on 2nd November 2023. TANIA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, she is on monthly preventatives, de-wormed and microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 21 January 2021 and weighs around 40 pounds. She is a Jindo mix breed dog, with the Jindo being a national treasure. Tania is a sweet gentle girl who is in need of a home that is going to go slow and show her love and give her the security she needs, whilst going out on walks and adventures and helping her get familiar with the strange environment, strange noises and smells that are so very different to south Korea. Unfortunately Tania's sister Tiara passed away in January 2025 and so Tania is alone without her sister, but here at the rescue with the house pack. TAnia is shy and nervous which is to be expected with all she has endured so we are looking for a nice chilled out family who enjoys walks and adventures, but also chilling on the coach. Tania is great with other dogs, having lived with 15 here at the rescue and has not been phased by the cats, although the cats do tend to stay out of the way. Please be sure to follow our Facebook page for regular updates as we do not always have the time to update the website and adoption sites on all the individual dogs. We also post video's on our YouTube channel where you can see the dogs personalities, get a better idea of age and looks also. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838  Click here to watch a video of TANIA - $300.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 19, 2025, 6:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. THEO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home. THEO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick prevention and was given the 12 month pro-heart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025. He is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 50.20 pounds. He has an estimated date of birth of December 2022.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Theo does have "Partial Heterochromia, also referred to as Sectoral Heterochromia" which is when part of the iris is a different colour than the rest of the eye. In Theo's case, it is the ice blue, which is common in the husky breeds and adds a beautiful uniqueness to his already stunning face. The shelter volunteer (21 January) stated friendly but a bit nervous as well, approached me, sniffed my hands and allowed me to pet him, offered him a treat but was not interested in them, semi walks on leash, would try pulling back licking his lips.  (25 January) he came out to the yard and was freezing to greets and was very unsure not understanding what was going on because he would just try to stay on his own wanting to get away from the other dogs.   (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. THEO is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Avery  was saved with her brother arriving at the rescue on 1 September 2024 at just under 3 months old, both she and her brother were adopted together on 20 October at just under 5 months old. Unfortunately the family reached out to the rescue in March 2025 (5 months after adoption) stating that they need to return both Avery (Scout) and Willow (Zamboni) as they are not well-behaved, chase after the children, nipping, jumping up, scratching and also chasing the cats. They are leash and house trained and the family said that Avery is silly and spunky she is a great dog, weighs around 40 pounds, but needs more than they can give her. Sadly Avery and Willow were not given the training and direction they needed as pups, so they wouldn't chase, jump up and nip, all natural behaviours for dogs and so unless they are taught different, they do not know that we find this acceptable.  The family told us that Avery and Willow often engage in air nipping towards each other, which is them communicating that they are not happy. We are looking for a family that understands the importance of training and that basic training, routine and structure is a must, a dog doesn't know how it is supposed to act in a human world, unless we teach them. We feel it would be a good idea to adopt the pups out individually unless a family is confident and committed to working with them and just like with humans understand they need their own time doing things to give them a break from their sibling or buddy. The pups are still with the family as at the moment the rescue has no free kennels and would really prefer not to put them through additional stress and emotional upset of coming back to the kennels, but the family is very eager for them to be gone. If interested in giving this beautiful girl her perfect forever home, please complete and submit the adoption application, link below. Avery is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives,  and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of 29 May 2024. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.    She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in  SEBEC, Maine  to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. GEYRAN was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending her with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. GEYRAN was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 56 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 2 February 2021. She is a front leg amputee. Geyran is the  mother of Binky. GEYRAN's (Geeran) Story is that she rescued after her and her pups were shot. Sadly only one of her pups survived and Binky came to the US at the same time as her. Geyran had been a street dog and had her pups on the streets and managed for her family to survive, socializing with some nice locals for about a year before the shooting. She was shot twice in her leg which unfortunately did too much damage and her leg had to be amputated. She is an incredibly happy and social girl who loves everyone she meets. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. GEYRAN is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $150, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this precious girl home. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 33 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 5 November 2022. HATTIE's story is that she was found as a young pup in a busy tourist area in Muscat where dogs are either shot or run over and left for dead. Sadly her mother and all 5 of her siblings had been shot and she was the only survivor. Hattie was taken to a wonderful Omani lady who cared for along with a lot of other dogs. Whilst she spent most of her time in a large crate where she could stand and stretch and was taken out for bathroom breaks. She only got to go on walks twice a week when volunteers would come and help with the dogs. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. LULA was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 36 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 13 July 2022. Lula was picked up on 15th March by a former GaDaH adopter and approved foster to give her some time out of the kennels and she spent a week enjoying and adapting learning how to live in a home environment. She adapted well and although was skittish, which is to be expected after all she had been through, she was gaining confidence on walks. She loved sleeping on the couch and was eating, drinking and going to the door when she wanted to go outside. Unfortunately after a few days she was getting a bit growly with the families small terrier, which was most likely as she didn't want to share all this new love and attention. Lula came back to the rescue on 22nd March after a weeks' break from the kennels and we feel that although she gets on with other dogs and loves to play with them, she would probably be best in home on her own so she can enjoy and take in all the love and attention she has not had and so desperately wants and deserves. LULA's story is that she was living as a young pup (around 3 months) in an area with her beautiful mum and siblings. The police, as they do to stray dogs in Oman, shot her mum and siblings. Lula and one of her brothers miraculously survived, however, her brother had a badly broken jaw from being shot and ended up being put to sleep.  LULA had severe wounds to both her hind legs and front paw of which the veterinarian believes were done by a human to torture her. Thankfully with medical care and treatment she healed well and was able to go to the Muscat Dog Adoption Rescue where she stayed until she was lucky to be chosen to come to the US.   Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames.
