Story
Hi, I’m Socks! With soft white paws that look like little socks, I’ve journeyed from a crowded shelter to hoping for a place in your heart. I’m a 2-year-old Plott Hound/Terrier mix with a brindle coat and eyes full of kindness and curiosity. My early days were tough, but I’ve learned resilience and the value of a loving home. Although I start off shy, a few gentle pets bring me out of my shell quickly. I love playing with other dogs, especially the larger ones, but what I dream of most is a special person to call my own. Fully house-trained and crate-trained, I have excellent manners—no shoe-chewing here! I also have a keen interest in wildlife, which might make me a great companion for outdoor adventures in a secure environment. I’m looking for a stable, loving home where I can thrive and share all the love I have to give.

Story
Meet Wilma, an inspiring survivor whose spirit shines brightly despite her rough start. Found emaciated and tied up in a vacant apartment, Wilma has blossomed into a lively soul, bearing a scar on her chest as a poignant reminder of her journey. She adores playing fetch, expertly bouncing the ball back to your feet, rolling it to you, or even catching it midair with impressive agility. Not only is she an enthusiast of fetch, but Wilma also loves to greet people with a charming handshake, adding a touch of grace to her vibrant personality. Wilma is well-suited for a home with dogs of similar or larger size, or as the only dog where she can soak up all the attention she deserves. Are you the forever companion Wilma has been hoping for?

At just 1-2 years old and tipping the scales at 50 pounds, Soldier was rescued from the streets of San Antonio. He’s now flourishing in a foster home that’s filled with love. Soldier has adapted beautifully to his new surroundings, welcoming every day with enthusiasm and warmth. Known for his loving nature, Soldier enjoys giving cuddles and quickly becomes a favorite with everyone he meets, both humans and fellow dogs alike. Bath time is a breeze with Soldier; just lift him into the tub, and he stays put until he’s squeaky clean. This brave boy is looking for a forever home to continue sharing his love. Story
Hey, my name is Naco, and I`ve been at the shelter for way too long. I`m ready to find my forever home and settle in with some cool bros or bro-ettes who share my love for relaxation, video games, snacks and chill vibes. My ideal home would be a bit of a bachelor/bachelorette pad scenario - just me and main squeeze hanging out, laid back and enjoying each other`s company. We could kick back and relax, maybe catch some rays while sunbathing, throw a ball around, watch some movies....but definitely no water, man - I`m no labrador!I`m not too high maintenance, just looking for someone who will appreciate my playful personality and love me for who I am - a forever dude. I love playing fetch and shaking toys around, so I might even be a great game day buddy. I`ll even cheer on whatever team you want, I`m not picky. I may have been at the shelter for a while, but that doesn`t mean I`m not a fun companion. I just need the right bros and bro-ettes to recognize my awesomeness and give me a chance to show them what a great friend I can be.So, if you`re looking for a laid-back dude to hang out with, then look no further than me, Naco. Let`s kick back and enjoy life together - with some video games, snacks, and toys, of course!

Story
Hey there, I`m Diego, and I`ve got a confession to make – I really miss being in a home. Don`t get me wrong, the shelter is nice, and the staff here are fantastic, but there`s just something about the predictability and routine of a home that I long for.My former owners would tell you that I`m a well-behaved boy. I know the ins and outs of being a good companion, and I`m eager to show you just how easygoing and lovable I can be.One thing I miss the most is taking naps on a cozy couch. There`s nothing quite like the feeling of a soft spot to snuggle up and catch some Z`s. I dream of the day when I can curl up on a couch in a home of my own.So, if you`re in search of a loyal and well-behaved companion who`s just longing for the comforts of home, I`m here, ready to be your couch buddy, your loyal friend, and your source of love and warmth. Let`s bring back the cozy moments and create a loving home together. I can`t wait to be your family`s favorite napper and loyal buddy!

Story
Are you searching for a super cuddly couch potato? Well, let me stop you right there because you’ve found her! I’m Shauna and I have been waiting for my forever home for 6 years. Yes, you heard me right! Out of all the animals here at the Animal Defense League, I’ve been here the longest. I have unfortunately been overlooked time and time again, but I have so much love to give! At first, I can be a bit scared of new people, but once I open up to you, you’ll see why I am a staff and volunteer favorite around here! My favorite activity is cuddling with my humans, whether it be giving them hugs, receiving belly rubs, snuggling up on their lap, or leaning on them. Like I mentioned before, I am a couch potato at heart and I am perfectly content with chilling out with you on the couch, binge watching your favorite shows. Another one of my favorite things is food! When it comes to becoming my friend, food definitely helps win me over! I am happy to show off my manners in the form of sit and shake to get a treat! So what do you say? Will you give a sweet girl like me the chance that I’ve been waiting on for the last 6 years?
