Story

Where do I start.. Iris is a 3 year old shepherd mix. She was found off the side of the road in a pile of brush she, and her best friend Moo, called home. Iris was extremely pregnant when she was found, but was also incredibly unhealthy and skin and bones. After allowing us to rescue her and Moo, Iris underwent emergency surgery to spay and remove her pups. Some may judge, but Iris would not have survived the delivery and neither would have her puppies. It was obvious Iris had some sort of physical trauma in her past after bringing her back to the kennels. After weeks of leash training and sitting in her kennel with her, Iris finally opened up and blossomed into the most loving girl. A month after Moo and Iris were finally comfortable in their new environment, Moo, Iris' companion, took a turn for the worst. Moo, who was older, went into liver failure and passed away. Iris was noticeably grieving for the months to follow and we allowed her to do so. During that time we had a litter of puppies abandoned to us and a baby goat who was scheduled for euthanasia we rescued. Iris didn't think twice. She took each pup and Bob, the goat, under her wing and did exactly what Moo did for her-helped them decompress in their time of need. I understand this was a long read, but it will help you understand how resilient and kind Iris is. She may be shy at first when meeting new people, but she is the most sweet soul I have personally ever met and deserves the best home. Miss Emmy was found on the side of the road on a cold night. No other litter mates around or parents. Unfortunately, Emmy was likely dumped. She has now blossomed into the most playful and loving little girl. Emmy is estimated to be 9 weeks old and is as healthy as can be! Meet the sweetest boy! Oliver is estimated to be around 9 months old. He is fully vaccinated, current on preventions, and neutered. Oliver was a street rescue, dumped by his previous owners as a puppy. Oliver jumped from house to house looking for food and water. Thankfully and good samaritan stepped in, and thats when we got the call! Oliver wants nothing more than to be best friends with anyone and anything he meets! He loves to give kisses and cuddles. Waylon is a 7 month old happy and healthy boy! This sweet boy was rescued from the streets of San Antonio. He was stranded off the side of the road, hidden in the brush with his sister. They were both covered in fleas and ticks and were skin and bones. Since getting acclimated to his new, safe and comfy life, he has blossomed into the biggest love bug. He loves to give kisses and get belly rubs in return. He loves to play with his other dog friends, but is perfectly happy playing with his chew toys on his own. He is leash trained and potty trained. Waylon would thrive in a home with another dog. We can't wait to hear from you!

Dixie is a 10 year old female Rhodesian ridgeback/shepherd mix that loves people of all ages! We rescued her as an abandoned puppy and have enjoyed her in our home the last 10 years. Dixie does have some anxiety that is triggered by loud noises (people mowing their lawn or any kind of machinery running). She is generally ok outside unless there’s a triggering noise in which case she would rather be inside. Unfortunately our life continues to be busier and busier and we aren’t able to provide the environment Dixie needs to live a happy and stress free life anymore. We would love to see Dixie rehomed to a great home! The ideal person would be retired, work from home, or full time stay at home. Dixie is a very sweet and loving dog that would enjoy nothing more than to be by someone’s side all day long, preferable in doors where it’s quiet haha.
