Story
Meet Miss Josey Joe! Josey is a 2 year old, female, Shepherd/Akita mix that weighs 57 lbs. She was originally found off of Windjammer Lane at the Harbor in Rockwall and taken to the local animal shelter. Miss Josey is a smart active girl that is looking for a FURever home of her own. She does great with other dogs and does absolutely fantastic with cats. She is housebroken and crate trained. Josey has moved into foster care, but she really needs a forever home to call her own! Josey definitely will do best in a home with other dogs as that is who she is the most comfortable with. She would do ok in a home with kids 6+ years of age due to her shy nature. Her adoption fee includes her spay, microchip, rabies vaccination, and basic boosters and she is heartworm negative!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. November 12, 2024, 8:17 pm

Story
Meet Chevy! Chevy is the most handsome 8 year old pup you will ever lay your eyes on! And he’s got the brains and personality to match! Which to be honest doesn’t always happen haha. He was surrendered by his family to the shelter with his brother. His brother was adopted but Chevy found himself left behind and set to be euthanized for space. When we saw he only had a few hours left we busted him out and I’m so glad we did. Chevy is going to make a family so incredibly happy one day. He is truly a unicorn dog. Going through our temperament evaluation there’s typically a few little things that come up…. Not with Chevy though. Every test we through his way he passed with flying colors. Truthfully it’s almost been a bit boring but he is certainly 100% good boy certified! -Good With Other Dogs. Has an “all out” play style. -Very Sweet and submissive with people. -House/Crate Trained -Leash/Obedience Work We Are Currently Working On. Definitely Had No Work Prior. -Demands belly rubs and he’s cute enough to where you will cave in and give them. -Lower drive GS -High Energy and social would be a great adventure buddy We do not ships dog out of state. All adopters must travel to Dallas to meet their potential animal in person before moving forward with an adoption trial run.

Story
Meet Littlefoot! This little tripod is one of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet. She was found as a stray along with her puppies in South Texas a few months ago. Since rescuing her, we have gotten her fully vetted which included amputating her front limb, as she was born with a deformity that was causing her some pain. She’s a little over a year old, good with dogs, but prefers a mellow companion. She’s extremely sweet with people and would like to be a cuddle partner for hours on end. She’s also potty trained and crate trained. She has not been cat tested so unfortunately, we do not know how she would do with kitties. Because Littlefoot was a "street dog" the first year of her life, new things can be scary at first. So we will require a patient leader that can teach her that the world is not a scary place. Our trainer will be happy to continue to work with her on confidence building once she enters into your home, as all of our pups come with 3 free at home sessions with one of our trainers. If this little bundle of energy and love, sounds like the perfect match for you, please visit the link and fill out an adoption application so that we can schedule a phone call to chat about her . Please note we do not ship dogs out of state. If you’re currently not in the Dallas Fort Worth area, you will have to come to Dallas to meet her.

He is incredibly smart and is already learning commands! As go go go has he is, he loves to be held like a baby and a lapdog at the most perfect times. Story
Hi! My name is Sarge. I am a 3 year old male Yellow Lab mix that weighs around 65 Lbs. I was found off of Anna Cade in Rockwall County on 03/06/25 and never reclaimed. I was recently adopted and returned because my adopter did not have time to train me properly. I am working on crate training and am not a big fan being confined but it's just a matter of getting use to it. I love to cuddle and love to play! I am fun loving and social and enjoy being the life of the party. RAC is not sure about my past life but it appears that I am a country boy who is looking for a family who has the time to train me and let me get accustomed to the comforts of indoor living. I have made a few doggie friends, both male and female, and am excited to make more! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet prior to adoption is encouraged. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine, boosters to date and heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete an online adoption application at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. Once submitted, RAC staff will be in touch with next steps. Story
Hi there! My name's Dodger! I am a 3-year-old male Terrier/Pit mix that weighs 43 Lbs. I was found off of Twin Lakes in Rockwall on 01/26/25 & never reclaimed. So now I am looking for my new Fur-ever family. I am a super sweet boy who loves to be pampered, hugged on and told I am a handsome boy! I was diagnosed with luxating patella in both my back knees which requires surgery to fix. I have healed well from my left knee surgery and had surgery to repair my right knee on 04/16/25. After surgery, I will be able to go on short walks to help increase my mobility while I heal. I walk well on a leash and would love to be taken on walks around the park or neighborhood. I am respectful of my beds, blankets and comfy bedding. I like to take naps and would make a perfect Netflix and chill companion. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, Boosters to date and heartworm negative.
