Story
Lady has been with us since February of 2023. Our yard is not fenced. My neighbor has beagles, so if she goes over, there's quite a ruckus. So Lady is mostly kenneled, inside and out. We walk her frequently on a leash for her exercise. Lady just wants to run, because loose inside, Lady gets the zoomies. When calmed down she chews on her ball. Lady loves tug of war with the other end of the leash and takes it to lead ME back inside the house. That lets you know she's done with her business. Sits when prompted, so obviously trainable. Doesn't bark a lot and has been around my cats. A younger family would be ideal to take her in. I have health issues, so that's the only reason we put her up to be re-homed. Great dog, lovable and quirky. Two others backed out for whatever reason. Didn't even meet her. So please, serious inquiries only. Vaccinations are all up to date and Lady is spayed. We had her chipped too, but ownership could be changed. Lady would be happy to meet you.

Story
Please contact Jeff Tarpley (JEFFnTEXARKANA@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Wishbone and Wanda are the cutest little bonded pair out there. Wishbone is a red piebald Dachshund (or mix). He is about 3 years old and he weighs 15 pounds. Wanda is a female mix breed. She is about 5 years old and she weighs 14 pounds. Both are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, tested heartworm negative and on heartworm preventive. They are ready for adoption. Wishbone and Wanda found themselves at a shelter in central Arkansas after their owner passed away. Upon coming to our rescue it was immediately apparent they are a bonded pair. Wishbone was protective of Wanda in the shelter but very loving right away with his rescue family. Wanda was scared and withdrawn at the shelter but opened up and relaxed quickly once in a home. They have been such a fun pair. Wanda had skin issues and hair loss that made her at first look like an older dog, but with some meds, Bravecto and skin sensitive food she has filled out her weight and has grown/is growing hair in all the affected places. Wanda is turning out to be a pretty little gal with an expressive face. Wishbone, healthy from the first, likes to explore and walks better on a leash (Wanda tends to pull). Wishbone and Wanda kennel together at night. They’ve never had a crate or potty accident. Wanda and Wishbone are never far apart. Both are affectionate and love to be cuddlers and couch buddies with their people. They deserve a great home and have plenty to offer in return. Adoption fee is $300. Story
Jimmy is a male white with tan/yellow rat terrier mixed breed. He is 5 years old and he weighs 32 pounds. Jimmy is neutered and vaccinated including rabies. Jimmy is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Jimmy is ready for adoption. Jimmy originally was adopted 5 years ago as a puppy. He was Jimmy Stewart from the Hollywood litter. Through family changes he ended up in a home with two larger dogs which the family determined wasn’t a good fit for Jimmy, so he was returned to us. Jimmy was happy as an only dog and is used to living in a family with adults and children. He seems fine with other dogs, but he is unsure about them on first meeting and needs time to develop a friendship. He responds differently to each dog personality and we are sure there are plenty of dogs he would like, but he doesn’t need them to be halls in a home. Jimmy pulls a little in the leash but is pretty walkable. He doesn’t love the kennel but he is fine when kenneled. Jimmy is house trained. We know Jimmy was taken care of and went to the same vet clinic yearly during his five years after adoption. Jimmy’s overall personality is a little reserved and shy, but once he trusts you he gives kisses and enjoys cuddles and a good scratch all over. Jimmy is a good size, right on the borderline of small and medium, so he fits inside the home easily without being underfoot all the time. Jimmy needs a person or a family that will give him a minute to acclimate to the new surroundings but will engage with him and talk to him as he learns to relax and feel safe. Jimmy does know his name. Adoption fee is $125. Story
Annie is a female tan with white mix breed. She is 2 years old and she weighs 36 pounds. Annie is spayed and vaccinated including rabies. Annie is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Annie is ready for adoption. Annie is people and dog friendly, and only mildly curious about the cat. Annie was owner surrendered (through no fault of Annie’s) by the person who has had her since she was 10 weeks old so she is pretty unsure what has happened, but even with being nervous and unsure she has been sweet. Annie doesn’t know her own strength and needs any other dogs to get her size or larger and robust for play. Annie is potty and kennel trained. She pulls mightily on a leash and is spooked by cars driving by. Annie knows her name, knows sit, and could learn so much more. We think Annie would do best with a fenced back yard for her and a friend to play in. Adoption fee is $150. Story
Rowdy Yates is a male black with tan/yellow undetermined mixed breed, maybe dachshund with a schnauzer or small scruffy terrier type. He is 8 weeks old (as of 10/18/24) and he weighs less than 4 pounds. Rowdy has had two sets of puppy vaccines and two rounds of deworming. Rowdy is ready for adoption. Rowdy Yates was owner surrendered at 6 weeks old. You can tell he was played with and handled as he is very social, including willingness to approach new dogs and even the cat to make friends. Rowdy likes toys, leaves, tails and just generally anything he can play with. He gives kisses. Rowdy think the leash is evil but he likes food and he’s ok with getting his nails trimmed. Rowdy is a puppy so he has everything to learn, from potty training to crate training to leash training. We think he’s up to the challenge and will make a great new family member for someone. Adoption fee is $200, with a spay/neuter contract requiring the adopter to neuter him by 6 months of age at their own expense. Adopter will also need to complete his vaccine schedule and put him on heartworm preventive.
