Moxie is a playful girl who loves being near her people or outside playing with her canine brothers and sisters. Moxie plays well with other dogs and is always up for a chase around the yard or a tug of war. She is house and crate trained and gladly goes in her crate for meals and treats.Moxie is vocal but not excessive; more of a talker. She is good about letting you know when she is ready to go out or come back inside.Moxie is always close to her foster Dad, at his feet when he is working at his desk, cuddling on the couch, or curled up tight and as close as possible when it is time for bed.Moxie is just an all-around sweetheart, full of love and a spring in her step. She is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Archer came to our rescue after being picked up as a stray. He doesn’t know his front ankles aren’t ‘normal’ as he gets around just fine. This condition is Angular Limb Disorder and attempting surgeries to resolve could make his situation worse. While he wouldn’t be a great running companion he still loves going for walks and short jogs. Long or strenuous walks could make him sore, so his family would want to avoid that as he would go if asked. This handsome boy is a happy, outgoing, gentle soul. He loves humans of all sizes and ages. Being with his humans and getting attention is his very favorite thing. He lives with lots of other dogs and is fine with everyone unless they are nasty to him; he won’t be bullied by anyone. He is good around the cats in his foster home who are very dog savvy. Archer has excellent house manners and is crate trained. He is engaged with his humans and treat motivated so would do well with training. He already has great recall and will sit for treats. He loves going for rides and would be a great go-everywhere dog. Archer is fully vetted – current vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
It is so hard to believe Bubbles has not been swooped up for adoption! She is now one of our Diamond Dogs, which are the pets we highlight as the Diamond in the Ruff seeking their forever home. Her adoption fee has been reduced to $125. DOB: 12/16/2022 Weight: 50lbs  Bubbles was left behind when her owner moved out of a rental property. Her roommate stepped up to care for her until a forever home could be found. Bubbles loves carrying her toys around and takes treats very gently. She knows how to sit, shake, lay down, and roll over on command and plays fetch. She's also house and crate-trained! Bubbles loves exercising in her yard several times a day and would do best in a home that can provide regular exercise. She does great with cats, but hasn't been around children so we're not sure how she would do. Bubbles is good with other dogs but needs to be fed separately from them.  Bubbles is current on her vaccinations, spayed and is heartworm negative. All she needs now is a forever home to call her own! Complete an online application today at: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Tyler is a gentle soul; one of the emotionally softest dogs you will ever meet. He had a hard start somewhere, we think he was pushed around and probably had a hard-handed owner in his puppyhood. Finally he’s learned to expect good things from humans in his life, learning to love belly rubs and head scratches. He lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with or avoids them. He seems to think the dogs that want to rough house and play might hurt him so while he could live with other dogs he wouldn’t be a good playmate for another kiddo in his home.Initially Tyler was terribly afraid of a leash but will now leash walk with gentle coaching, he can not be pulled or forced which scares him still. He will now go through doorways and use a doggie door but will need time to adjust to both in a new environment. His foster mom usually just leaves a door wide open for him or takes him through with a leash. He’s come a long way but still has work to do in those areas. He doesn’t have much vision in his right eye which may be why he has trouble with steps/stairs and should be in a home where he doesn’t have to navigate those on a regular basis. He is also a bit hard of hearing so getting his attention through sight is imperative.Tyler has learned to come when his foster calls him and how to suck up when he wants her attention. He is a handsome, English Bulldog and is very typical of the breed other than learning his true worth.Tyler is fully vetted - current with his vaccines, neutered, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention; and he is microchipped.

Story
Duchess was in a small, high kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected she couldn’t open them and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears and the chronic dry eye had been untreated so long her corneas were damaged and infected. This sweet girl was so shut down initially she had to remember what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes, she gets 2 types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She’s learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She’s able to see now although not as well as we hope she can as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She just wants to totally devote herself to her human and take care of her family. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed. She is house trained, can use a doggie door or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted - current with vaccines, spayed, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.
