Story
We found this lost or abandoned dog the day before the freeze. We brought him home for protection from the freeze and to feed and water. This dog looks to be between 1-2 years old. He looks like a Lab mix? We have no idea. He is a really sweet and affectionate young dog. Searched on NextDoor and had a friend post him in FB trying to find the owner. We took him to Montgomery County Animal Shelter to scan for a chip. There is no chip. We are not equipped to house a permanent pet (no fenced property, etc). We would love for a loving family to adopt him. He loves to be around people. He stays around us at all times when we're outside. He will be a good addition to a loving family. He's a good watch dog as well. He alerts us way before we know someone is around. We're assuming he has not been neutered. We would be willing to get him neutered and whatever shots he needs.

Story
Max is a great dog. We rescued him from a shelter local to us in 2021. He was an inside dog up until the birth of our daughter at the end of 2023. He started to act out a little bit so we converted our shed into his dog house. He loves to take walks and will follow simple commands like Sit, Lay, Shake. He is house trained but would probably need to be monitored for the first few days. The shelter told us his age is anywhere from 9-11 years old at the time we adopted him. I’d estimate his age is close to 10 years old honestly. He still has a lot of life left and is very playful. He was heartworm positive when we got him. We kept him on his heartworm meds but would probably need a check up. Would love to see him go to a great home that can take very good care of him.

Story
**Currently fostered in Conroe Texas** Meet Barkley! This sweet baby wandered up on someone's property. He was wearing a harness on that had the brand name boots and barkley, so that's where the finder got his name. Barkley was chipped, but unfortunately it was not registered. It shows that he was adopted in January, and that he is estimated about 5 years of age. He currently weighs around 55 lbs and we believe him to be a border collie/cattle dog mix. He has a ton of energy and he loves to run and play. His favorite thing in the world is to play fetch with a ball! Although, make sure it isn't a tennis ball or you'll find them in pieces! Barkley clearly was a dog that wasn't well socialized with others prior to coming into rescue. So far, he has done well with large female dogs, but he clearly lacks social skills. He does not like male dogs, and smaller dogs he is much to pushy for. He very clearly wants to be friendly, but struggles due to a lack of social skills. We believe with continued socialization with healthy, playful dogs will yield continued success with him! We suggest no cats though since he has a prey drive and goes after the squirrels and chickens. Barkley clearly knows his basic commands, such as sit, kennel, shake and settle. He is highly toy and food motivated and responds wonderfully to focused training. While he still struggles with impulse control, he has continued to show great results. With continued training, we could even see him being an agility pup! Barkley is crate trained, housebroken and does well on leash. He is fully vetted, meaning he us neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and on monthly preventions for flea, tick and heartworm. For more information on how to adopt Barkley, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com for an application.
