Story
Annie is a very sweet girl, who is 4 years old and we have had her since she was 8 weeks old. Annie is an inside dog, but also loves to be outside and explore the yard. She enjoys chasing squirrels and lizards, and she enjoys playing with our other dog. Annie enjoys most other dogs, but she also exhibits dominant characteristics with other dogs. She will get into it with other dogs to display her dominance. I would suggest her to be an only dog, unless you have the patience for her to get used to your current dog. Annie loves to be in the water, swim in pools or even in rivers. She lays around the house for the majority of the day. Annie is part Husky and that comes out in her "talking", especially if she is hungry or excited. Annie is friendly towards family and friends that come over. She barked and was on guard when we had men in the house to do some work, but she really does enjoy people. I feed her and my other dog separately because she is food aggressive with dogs, not people.

Story
We have had Ellie since she was 6 weeks old from our local animal shelter and she is now almost 5 years old. Ellie is going to need a very patient person to win her over. She is terrified of her own shadow, but has never tried to bite anyone. We are a family of 5 and she loves us and wants to be with us at all times. Ellie is food motivated. When we have people over she growls and hides behind one of us, but if we are eating food, she will put her head in anyone's lap. Ellie does love our other dog and they are best friends, but she does not like other dogs. I think she is just scared. The reason for rehoming her is she makes it difficult to have people over and travel with her. All that being said, she is a very sweet and affectionate girl towards us, even sleeps with us. People can win her over, but it takes time and a lot of food and treats.

Story
Mission: Woof Pack Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit working to improve the health, welfare, and safety of Houston's dogs. Our organization was started by one dog mom on a mission to help those animals in need. Our goal is to find loving homes for abandoned, lost, forgotten or mistreated dogs from the streets of Houston and surrounding areas. Currently being fostered in Houston, Tx with transport available out of state. Athena's story: This sweet girl was with her one human for 9+ years of her 10 yrs, until he married and had a child within a short time. Athena did not adjust well to all of the changes and is now having to be rehomed in the senior years of her life when she should be chilling and cuddling. She has been boarded for the last 5 months at the same place that she had boarded over the years and had obedience training at, Man's Best Friend. While she loves the folks that are taking care of her, she deserves her own loving family, warm snuggly bed and a home to call her own. She has actually become more relaxed since the dynamic has changed and she is not in the environment where she knew there were issues and she didn't feel comfortable or safe any more. She needs a loving home and to be out of boarding. It's just not the same, even if you know the people there love you. She is: • hw negative • neutered • UTD on all vaccinations • Microchipped • She is good with other dogs, cats. Her best friend at Man's Best Friend is a male frenchie, who has also been there a while. • potty trained • crate trained Athena is only 40 lbs and just wants to have her own home, her own warm bed and her own hoomans that love her as much as she wants to give love. She has had a lot of changes in a short time and the home she had for most of her life disappeared and she doesn't understand why. But one of a dog's greatest gifts is that they can love again, they can forgive and they live in the moment. She is a sweetheart, but she will need a little patience and time to decompress and learn to trust her new hoomans. She will do best with no small children around as she is a senior and has already gone thru so many changes. She's still got plenty of spunk in her and can't wait to find her furever home. **Man’s Best Friend in Houston, partners with us for training and boarding and can give additional information on Athena's personality. Once we have an initial chat, the rescue will put you in contact with them. Please email us if you are interested in giving our sweet senior girl a loving home and we will notify MBF to give out info. **Transport to Austin, Tx. or out of state, preferably northern states is available

Story
Athena had one owner for the first 9 yrs. of her life. As life goes, he married, and had a child within about a year. This was a lot for Athena to handle after having been his only person for most of her life. She did not adjust well to all of the changes and having a 6 month old around so the mom would like Athena to have a new forever home. She is spayed, heartworm negative and on prevention. She went thru obedience training with Man's Best Friend. She has been boarding with Man's Best Friend for the last 2 months since she knows the people there and has been around them over the years. She needs a home, even though she loves the people there, this is yet another very big change in this girl's life and she deserves a real home. She is good with other dogs, and has even been around cats with no issues. She is very sweet and would be good with someone patient and experienced with a dog that has been rescued. An environment with no children would be ideal although she is still ready to play, just a little shy after so many changes. ***Update*** Man's Best Friend, where she has been boarding, has said that sweet Athena has become so much more relaxed in the months that has been there. Amazing what changing the dynamic can bring out in even an older pooch. someone is going to be lucky to have miss Athena as a loyal companion, even in her senior years!

Penny is an adorable, quirky little girl, about 18 months old, originally found in the middle of an esplanade on a busy street and made it across to the neighborhood side and huddled against the outside of a fence, terrified. We thought she had been spayed already, as she had a scar on her belly. Her ear was either bitten or snipped and she was/is missing some of the fur on her side. Since we originally had to board her, we soon found out, she was not spayed as she went into heat at the vet. The vet and all who have examined her agree, her scar was from having a c-section as she had definitely had at least one litter of puppies, possibly used to breed for the beautiful brindle coat she has. She is - hw negative, -spayed, - UTD on all vaccinations. - She is good with all the other dogs, small and larger. - she loves to be around people and her favorite yoga position is the "sploot". - she loves to lay with her belly flat on the floor and back legs straight out and somehow, she will move backwards in that position without seeming to move anything. - She has a very unique cross between a howl and coo. Don't be fooled by her small size, she's a sturdy girl and her head can scooch thru a slightly open door to go in the backyard before you know it. - She's a toy destroyer, so heavy chewer toys only or you'll find tufts of toy guts everywhere! But she saves the squeaker for you. She is a beautiful girl, her markings are like a tigress, and she has a beautiful heart that you can see when she looks at you with her big brown eyes. A furever home with a fur-friend for her to play with would be great, or she would be content hanging out near you while you work. **Penny is available to transport to Austin or out of state, preferably northern states.
