Story
This handsome boy’s right legs were partially amputated when he was just a pup by someone who’s clearly on the bullet-train to hell. Technically, Charisma is special needs, but don’t tell him that! He’s active & gets around well – he can even jump into the car! He’s been dearly loved by his adoptive family for many years, but sadly, must now be rehomed. He’s healthy, crate-trained, & would do best with a small dog to keep him company. Although he prefers women to men, he has lived with a man & was devoted to him. C’mon – everyone could use a little Charisma! How about you?

Story
Meet Maya! A spirited 6-year-old Siberian Husky mix hailing from the vibrant city of St. Louis, Missouri. Maya is a charismatic canine with a love for chew toys. Brimming with playful energy, Maya is an enthusiastic participant in family activities and revels in the role of a constant companion! Maya thrives on mental and physical stimulation, making her an ideal companion for an active household. To ensure her happiness, Maya seeks a home that offers a structured environment and a dedicated commitment to a consistent schedule. Remarkably, she has a fondness for her crate, often seeking refuge in it independently. For prospective adopters, Maya would benefit from a family that can invest time in her training, guiding her toward becoming the best version of herself. Her treat motivation serves as an invaluable tool for positive reinforcement during training sessions A fenced-in yard would be an ideal addition to her new home, providing a secure space for her to explore and play freely. Maya's friendly disposition extends to both new people and while she is generally friendly with other dogs, she may exhibit occasional food and toy-guarding tendencies, making it important to understand and address her unique needs. We look forward to connecting Maya with a loving and committed forever home that can provide her with the attention and care she deserves. Story
Meet Max! A 6 year old charming and affectionate mixed-breed canine hailing from Deer Park, TX. With his goofy antics, sweet demeanor, and unwavering loyalty, Max is sure to win over any heart he encounters! This high-energy pup thrives on playtime, especially when it involves a spirited game of tug-of-war. His playful nature makes him the perfect constant companion, always ready to join in on the fun and bring a smile to your face! Despite his lovable qualities, Max can be a bit stubborn at times, but his endearing personality more than makes up for it. He's crate-trained and understands the importance of boundaries, though he prefers the freedom of a fenced-in yard to romp around in. Max's health and well-being are a top priority, with his vaccinations up to date and being neutered. He's also mastered the art of house training, making him an ideal addition to any household! However, Max does have his quirks and sensitivities. He becomes nervous during thunderstorms and fireworks, seeking comfort and reassurance during these times. Additionally, he exhibits resource-guarding behavior, which has led to a couple of unfortunate incidents where he bit his caregiver, requiring medical attention. These episodes highlight the importance of understanding Max's needs and providing him with the patience and support he requires. Max has had disagreements with other pets in the household, indicating that he may thrive best as the sole fur child. This aspect of his personality underscores the significance of finding the right environment where he can feel safe and secure. As Max embarks on this new chapter in his life, he does so with optimism and hope. With the right guidance, structure, and understanding, he can fully embrace his loving and goofy nature without the stressors that have led to his previous behavior. Max is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to find a forever home where he can be cherished for the wonderful companion he is! To make sure that Max has a great start with his new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. Email us directly at adopt@joyfulpet.com for more information about Max!

Story
Meet Bella! A 7-year-old American Pitbull Terrier hailing from San Tan Valley, Arizona. Bella is looking for her next loving family, ready to accompany them on long walks, indulge in playtime, and engage in backyard running sessions. She thrives on being with her "people" and cherishes their company! When it comes to obedience, Bella is quite the scholar! She readily responds to commands such as sit, stay, come, dinner, treat, and many other words commonly used in daily conversations. Her eagerness to please makes training sessions a breeze! Bella is the epitome of a loving and loyal companion. However, it's essential to note that she cannot coexist with other dogs or cats. She has displayed aggression on two separate occasions, resulting in physical altercations with family dogs within the household. Therefore, caution must be exercised when introducing her to other canines. Despite her aversion to other animals, Bella has never shown aggression towards people. She is playful, devoted, and maintains a medium energy level. Her friendly disposition extends to strangers, and she is particularly good with children! Rest assured, Bella's vaccinations are up to date, and she has been spayed and microchipped for added security. If you're interested in learning more about Bella or considering her for adoption, feel free to reach out to us directly at adopt@joyfulpets.com. We'd be happy to provide you with further information about this wonderful companion! Also, Bella is open to a long-distance adoption—love knows no distance when finding your perfect companion!

Story
Meet HK and Mac! A dynamic duo hailing from Kingston, Oklahoma, inseparable buddies seeking their forever home together. Playful and affectionate, these two are a bundle of joy waiting to bring endless happiness to the right family! HK, a striking German Shepherd at 2 years old, and Mac, a charming Terrier/Pit mix at 3, form an unbreakable bond. With their large size and boundless energy, they thrive in environments where they can roam freely and play to their heart's content! Their favorite pastimes include frolicking together, gnawing on bones, and gleefully squeaking their toys. Both are quick learners, responding to commands like "No," "Sit," and "Stay" with enthusiasm and readiness for playtime. While they adore each other's company, their shared desire for exploration means they require a securely fenced yard to prevent any escape attempts. Mac's history suggests a propensity for chasing cats, an issue that potential adopters should be mindful of, a feline-free household would be a must for this pair. In terms of health, Mac is already fixed with up-to-date shots, while HK awaits his turn for neutering, a cost the current caregiver is willing to cover. However, due to their lively nature, ongoing monitoring and training may be necessary, particularly to manage HK's eagerness to engage in play. What truly sets HK and Mac apart is their boundless affection and keen awareness of their surroundings. They relish belly rubs and are ever-vigilant, demonstrating a protective streak that enhances their appeal as loyal companions! For their future family, continuity is key; they must remain together to ensure their continued happiness and well-being. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this delightful duo, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com for more information on bringing HK and Mac into your life!

Story
Meet Goldie! A spirited one-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from Leonard, Texas, whose essence is a vibrant burst of joy wrapped in a luxuriously tan coat. Goldie’s favorite toy, a stuffed turtle, is nearly as adventurous as she is, joining her in endless games and races. This young pup is filled with energy and affection, always ready to engage in her beloved activity: running across open spaces with the wind in her fur! Although Goldie hasn’t received formal obedience training yet, she has mastered the essentials like "sit" and "stay." With a bit more training, she’s sure to become as well-behaved as she is charming. Goldie is perfectly house-trained and crate-trained, thriving on a routine that includes twice daily meals and numerous walks, her leash always ready for the next outing. Goldie’s friendly demeanor makes her a fantastic companion for families with children or anyone who enjoys a warm welcome after a long day. Her social skills extend to strangers too, greeting all with a wagging tail and eager eyes. She does express a bit of distress when left alone in her kennel, preferring instead to be in the company of her humans or busy with activities. Goldie’s playful grumbles during her playtime endear her to everyone, revealing her joyful and expressive nature. The ideal adoptive family for Goldie would be one that can match her vigor and enthusiasm, willing to continue her training and include her in their daily adventures.
