Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Hedy Barton and Marcia ToksonRoxie – 3-Year Old Female Malinois in Connecticut   Roxie is looking for an adoptive home or a foster to adopt home.  She is a 3-year old female who will be spayed in her foster home.  She is up to date on her shots and heartworm negative.    Roxie is a big, active girl and weighs about 55 pounds.  She is exuberant and needs to learn manners.  She is housebroken and apparently good in the apartment of her owner when left alone.   Roxie is friendly with people and children (ages 10 and up only as she is big and bouncy) .  She has been tested several dogs – male and female – and has always been reactive.  For this reason, Roxie must go to a home where she is the only pet.  The foster or adoptive home would be encouraged to work with her on her interactions with male dogs her own size as it is possible that she may improve with careful exposure.  Roxie also has high prey drive for squirrels and small animals so cannot be placed in a home with cats or small animals.    She is an active girl who benefits from hour-long walks and exercise. She loves car rides and can be left in the car without tearing anything up or getting into trouble.  She settles calmly in the house and likes balls, sticks and tug, but I would not call her a dog with super-high ball drive.  She is not noise sensitive and appears to have good nerves.  Roxie would do best in a home with a large, fenced yard, or with a person who will exercise with daily walks and runs, being cognizant that she may be aggressive with female dogs and small dogs.  (There is some feeling that this issue may be tempered and/or resolved when she is spayed but we cannot assume that this will be the case.)   We also do NOT know if Roxie can be crated as the person who has her now has never tried acclimating her to a crate.  Roxie appears to be a good girl who is attached to the person who is currently caring for her and does try to please.  She needs careful oversight in her interactions with other dogs as well as guidance; training and eventual placement.   A photo and a video are included. Can you give this girl a chance to develop her full potential as a loving companion? Time is of the essence for Roxie as it is uncertain as to how much longer her current home can keep her.   If you would like to help give Roxie a chance by fostering her, please contact Hedy Barton (HedyL@aol.com). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Maryfrances BettsVinny is a 19 month old, one eared Malinois with a great love of life!  He has boundless energy and is a goofy boy. Vinny was born with only 1 ear and canal but don't let that fool you! He is a typical young Malinois! He is a handsome boy that just wants a family to call his own! Vinny needs to be both mentally and physically stimulated like most Malinois. He bonds very quickly to his person and is a Velcro dog. He would do well with a non-confrontational male or female. He would also do well with dogs over 20 lbs. as long as they are not alpha. Due to his size, energy and drive, he will not be placed in a home with cats or children under 8 years old. Vinny has a very high drive for toys and would do well in any activity that would keep his mind engaged and focused. He is not a couch potato and would love to be a part of your active life! If Vinny sounds like the guy for you, please fill out his Adoption Application: https://malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=6574 For questions about Vinny, please email Maryfrances, Vinny's Coordinator. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  November 5, 2024, 5:08 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Carol AulickPeighton is a 2 yo old sweet girl currently located in Pennsylvania.  She is a velcro girl that loves her people.   She does great with other dogs her size and plays hard with her foster brother and keeps him in line .  She is highly food and toy motivated, making it easy to train her to learn new behaviors.  She LOVES to play ball!   She will thrive in a home where she will have a chance to do something that uses her brilliant mind and her natural athletic ability. She is crate trained, and house trained.  She rides well in the car but is a little anxious when first getting into the crate in the car but will chill after a few minutes. She has high prey drive so will not be a good candidate for families with cats or small children.
