Story
*housebroken *loves people *loves to play *good on a leash *only confident cats *no other dominant female dogs *lots of energy loves to run *no kids under 8 OUT OF STATE TRANSPORT available for an additional fee. Daisy spent some time of her early life in a high-kill shelter where she had been found starving in the streets. Later on, she was adopted off the shelter's euthanasia list by an elderly man in his 90s. However, Daisy was too energetic and active for him to manage. Her owner tried to rehome Daisy without luck as all the shelters and rescues were full. We were full as well, but received a call to rescue Daisy while the she was at the vet's office, moments away from being euthanized for a second time! We couldn't say no to this special girl, and boy are we glad we didn't. Daisy is a well-behaved dog, although she has a penchant for the taste of good dog beds. She loves to cuddle and play and has been tested with cats and deemed unbothered by confident felines who don’t run away. With other dogs, Daisy prefers to be the dominant female dog and may have issues with other female dogs who are not submissive. Daisy enjoys being indoors near her humans or playing outdoors with other dogs. Daisy has not had much socialization with young kids so she requires a home with older children that will respect her space (8+) or no children. Daisy has done great during our 'Doggy Day Out' events. She LOVES car rides and pup cups! During her last outing, she walked well on a leash while we were inside Rural King. Daisy also enjoyed getting pets strangers and familiar adults alike, and was happy to give kisses to everyone who asked for them. Daisy needs to be fed separately from other dogs, however, she is not aggressive towards humans when it comes to food, even if something is taken away from her. UTD on vaccines, on preventatives, and microchipped. Daisy does not do well in apartment type settings, she will not be placed in an apartment home.

Story
*housebroken *good with cats *energy and with her size no small children *no other dominant females *loves chew toys Beauty was found wandering all alone in Sweetwater, TN near the dump by a Good Samaritan who posted on Facebook in a lost and found group but no one came forward to claim her. :( Our animal control contact then reached out to us for help with this situation and connected us with the finder. At the time, the Monroe County shelter was over capacity and euthanizing on intake. When she arrived at woofwoof fosters it appeared something strange was going on with her eyes. Turns out, she had a condition called Entropion which caused her eyelashes/eyelids to grow inwards! We scheduled her for surgery ASAP as this can lead to blindness if left untreated! Beauty has since recovered from surgery and is now ready for adoption! She can be dog selective, particularly with other dominant females it seems. We plan to continue working with/testing her to further evaluate if she would be able to possibly live with another dog if their temperaments lined up or if she needs to be the only dog in the home. She would do best in a home without young children as she has a LOT of energy and not great body awareness. She loves to run and play and will require mental stimulation in her new home as well as frequent physical stimulation. We think some simple scent trail training or possibly snuffle mats may help meet her needs as she has a curious snout!

Clancy *housebroken *good on a leash *knows commands *good with other dogs *easily trained *needs a little bit of time to warm up to new people *saved from euthanasia and in foster a year!! *no cats or kids Raise your hand if you have social anxiety around new hoomans! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Clancy is raising his paw right along with you! Clancy was in the foster program through McMinn Regional Humane Society for over a YEAR now without much interest. His foster family asked if we would be able to accept him into our rescue if they continued to foster and after we got a few adoptions, we said YES! Clancy WAS heartworm positive but underwent treatment and is now NEGATIVE! 🥳 He loves to be around other dogs and currently lives with a canine foster sibling. He does NOT like cats and small children make him nervous. He requires some additional time and proper introductions when meeting new people but he warms up if these steps are taken! His foster family says that if you ignore him and let him come to you and sniff around, he will eventually warm up and let you pet him. Treats also help with this! His foster family has been working very hard with him to train him to be more comfortable out in public, even going so far as to arrange public meetups with community members to give him treats on the greenway. 🥲 He is so lucky to have his foster family but he needs his forever home! Ideally he would love to be a homebody and hang out with his people and maybe even a doggie brother or sister!

Story
Meet Diesel! Diesel is an amazing boy who is good with kids, other dogs, and can be cat tested! He is around 3.5 years old and weighs around ~60 lbs. He has always lived outside but we believe he could be trained to live indoors with some patience and a routine. Two of our fellow non-profit contacts found him hobbling along without any use of his back legs while they were out driving in Sweetwater, TN. They pulled over and upon speaking with his owners, found out that he was hit by a car over 2 weeks prior. Unfortunately, his family could not afford to take him to the vet to examine his injuries or figure out how to best support his mobility needs and they agreed to surrender him to our rescue! He saw the vet on May 14th and we learned that his back was broken in two places. We were originally told that he was likely paralyzed and will likely not re-gain function of his two back legs. The vet also discovered that Diesel was Heartworm positive. Since then, he underwent the fast-kill method to kill the Heartworms and has completed his treatment after 30 days of rest! He also went to see a specialist at UT who donated a special harness to Diesel’s foster family. After some at home therapy using this harness, Diesels is able to stand and even walk short distances unassisted! One of our amazing followers also donated the funds to get Diesel a custom wheelchair! This wheelchair will follow him to his forever home! Diesel is nothing short of a miracle and we are so excited to finally find a loving home for him.
