Story
Mason is a wonderful boy! He came from a kill shelter in a neighboring county. I saw his face and knew I had to save him! He was found a stray and is estimated to be about 2 years old. He was found to be heartworm positive, but his treatment is now complete. He is neutered and UTD on vax and flea treatment. He is loving and just wants to please. Very smart - someone has taught him several commands, like sit, stay, down, shake, and beg. His only issue is that he chases cats, so he CANNOT be around small animals. He will be a loyal companion!

Story
Belle was found abandoned on a mountain with another dog, we have fostered her and grown to love her but due to our housing situation, we can’t continue to keep her. She is the sweetest dog and loves to cuddle and sleep! The vet estimated her age to be 1-1.5. She is high energy at times, but calms pretty quickly. She knows how to sit and knows her name well, also the word treat so be careful with that one!

Story
We love Dutchy, but we have a baby on the way and two toddlers and cannot give him the attention he deserves. He is a sweet and active doggie that gets along very well with our cat. I would love for him to find someone that loves to hike and be outdoors. I feel like he would thrive in a house where one person is at home or works less than 50/week.

AHHS makes no claims as to the health or temperament of these pets and cannot be held liable for any outcomes or damages resulting from adoption. This handsome fellow is ready to steal your family’s heart! He’s stolen his foster family’s! Ziggy loves his foster mommy but he adores kids and men most. He just lights up when he hears a man speak or sees kids coming. He’s great with cats! He has been around his fosters’ dogs, but one or the other are always meeting through a crate. The foster family's dogs are a very overwhelming crew. Ziggy always is excited to see them! He likes to eat in his crate alone where no one can rush him. He’s a nice slow eater. He’s still learning to play, but he seems to really love plush toys. He is potty trained and crate trained. He is learning commands, doing well on a leash and is extremely intelligent. He has a particular passion for hunting vermin, like rabbits! Ziggy would do best with a good sized fenced yard. He loves to run and sniff the day away…..searching for those pesky rabbits! He would probably love to explore hiking trails if given the chance!   sedhodge25@gmail.com  November 5, 2024, 6:39 pm

Anderson joined the AHHS under unexpected circumstances. He was brought in by an individual stating that he had been dumped on their property. We aren't quite sure why anyone would dump such a wonderful dog. Anderson, Andy for short, is truly a charmer. He has won us all over in such a short time. His personality is fantastic, and he just loves attention. He is dog friendly and would do fine in a home with children! Anderson deserves a life of comfort and love given his unfortunate past. Could that be you? If so, email Halee at halee@ahhumanesociety.org with questions or apply on our website at ahhumanesociety.org.November 5, 2024, 6:39 pm

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!   Meet Frankie, the gorgeous Aussie. She came to the AHHS after being passed around from owner to owner. Frankie's first had owners that were elderly and did not have the time/energy for her. Her second owner was a younger individual, but they worked long work hours and made the decision to surrender her. We had what was seemingly the perfect person come along for her, however, it was later determined that she would do best as the only dog in the home.  We are requiring Frankie's adopter to either be experienced with her breed or be willing to do research. She deserves a loving, forever home.  An ideal candidate for Frankie would be someone home often, that is active and has no other dogs in the household. She is insanely intelligent, very motivated to learn, and loves to please. She loves to cuddle up with her person(s).  If interested in learning more about Frankie, please contact Halee at Halee@ahhumanesociety.org or apply online at ahhumanesociety.org.November 5, 2024, 6:39 pm
