Story
Annie was a single mom of...eight!!! Her kids have all moved away and now she is looking for a real and lasting relationship. She is a super snuggly character who is one of the most loving dogs we have ever met!! Annie hasn't forgotten her hungry start and still loves to steal food left unattended haha. Attributes: -SWEETEST girl! -loves children -does well with dogs after proper introduction -playful with other dogs -housebroken & crate-trained -used to invisible fence -Ridgeback/Shepherd/possibly terrier -calm personality around the house! Considerations: - probably no toy dogs - may not mesh well with an Alpha female canine

Story
Saturn is truly the Queen of Hearts at our shelter, and we are totally devoted to her. Why we love Saturn - this quote from one of our dedicated volunteers says it best: "Saturn loves all of her friends so deeply that I feel humbled by the capacity of her heart." **We are so grateful to our friends at the Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation who are sponsoring FREE training for six weeks through GoodPup for Saturn and her new family!** Saturn is five years old and weighs 52 pounds. Her black and white coat is beautifully marked. She has a warmth and equanimity that make her a sought after companion. Saturn is an absolute joy to be around and we all savor her company. Saturn has such a zest for life! She will roll around on her back and kick up her legs, truly living in the moment with so much joy. She also loves belly rubs. Saturn trots companionably at your side on daily walks and enjoys exploring the shelter grounds. She also likes to be in the fenced yard and her favorite thing is playing fetch. She will leap high into the air to catch a toy you toss her way and is so agile, athletic and graceful! Saturn likes to go to the toy box and select the ones she wants to play with! Saturn has also enjoyed outings with some of our volunteers and is a great representative for our shelter! She has also had several sleepovers and been a cherished guest. Saturn is a bright dog who has already mastered the sit, give paw, come and stay commands, and is working on down. She has a serenity of spirit that makes her a joy to be around. Saturn is the perfect dog to be at your side during the day and curl up at your feet at night! Saturn spent some out of the shelter time in the home with one of our dedicated volunteers and here is what Betty Ann says about her: "She is a lover! Saturn is super affectionate and gives lots of hugs and kisses. She is easy on the leash and loves long walks on the trail. Balls are her favorite toy. She'll pounce on them and bring them back to you. She's not a picky eater and loves all kinds of treats - and will sit for them. Saturn is super soft and barely sheds. She thinks she's a lap dog. Saturn would benefit from a fenced in yard where she can run. Its been a pleasure to have her in our home. She has brought us so much joy! Saturn will be a loyal friend to whomever chooses her and gives her the life she deserves." Two of our devoted volunteers have frequently hosted Saturn at their house when the shelter is closed and Sara reports: "Saturn is a bouncy dog, playful and joyful and happy in your company. She also loves playing quietly at your feet enjoying her chewy toys. She is always up for a walk or playtime in the yard, but is easy and content when inside with her people. She loves people she knows and loves affection. She is eager to learn how to be a good dog and she needs some guidance with that because she has lived at Animal Control half of her young life. She wants a person who will be kind and patient but firm with her while she learns. She needs to be an only pet in the a calm house. Saturn is wonderful to have around the house. She is sweet and good natured and very good company. Saturn is loved by everyone at Animal Control and she will be the best dog ever if you put in the time and love she deserves." She may only be adopted by someone experienced with a dog who is protective of her people around strangers. She must be put in another room securely when strangers enter the house and room. And Saturn must be properly introduced or remain in another room. She needs a patient, experienced owner who can work with her, provide structure, and help her feel secure. A household without small children and lots of activity would be the best environment for Saturn. It would be helpful if someone will be home with her most of the time. Story
"Dogs bring special gifts to those who live with them." This makes us think of our dear Meech, who will be such a fun and devoted family companion! Why we love him: Meech has such an exuberant personality and is one of the first dogs we take out every day. He is such wonderful friend! This great young dog is truly the resident hunk of our kennels! Meech is one year old and weighs 60 pounds. His shiny black coat has snow white markings on his chest and his warm brown eyes reflect a joy for life. Meech is so handsome! He is an active companion on daily walks and will go for as long as you want. Meech would be an enthusiastic hiking or running buddy, too. He loves to roll on the ground, kick up his legs, and have a belly rub after he is done. We enjoy seeing him have such a great time! Meech looks forward to play time in the fenced yard, where he bounds about joyfully and has such fun. He is so athletic and agile! He especially enjoys playing with the toys and is always ready for a game of fetch. One of his favorite things is splashing around in the doggy pool during the warm months. Meech has had a blast in play groups with his fellow shelter companions and is an absolute star! If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Meech has such a friendly, good natured personality and is a wonderful cuddle buddy! He loves to crawl on your lap to be petted and enjoy the day with you! We enjoy his company so much! Meech truly has a heart full of love he gladly shares! One of our dedicated volunteers says: "Meech is the first dog I take out at the shelter! I truly enjoy his happy go lucky, effervescent demeanor. Meech is one of the smartest, most loving and fun dogs I have ever met. Every day is a true adventure for him! He is the best lap dog, too!" Another volunteer took Meech on an outing at a local park and she reports: "The sweetest moment ever was as I was driving and Meech stood and put his head over my shoulder to rest his head against my chest! It was the closest thing to a doggie hug I have ever experienced and it totally melted me! We also spent portions of the drive “cheek to cheek” so he could see the road as I drove and stay close. I have never had a pup do this and it was such a sweet gesture." Meech also loved his hike in the woods and relaxing on a swing. Meech attended an offsite event and was the best representative for our shelter! Meech is very bright and will already sit, offer you his paw to shake and roll over. Smart, handsome, and so much fun - Meech is all of this and much more! Meech will be such an amazing companion and the best buddy a family could want! He is much loved by our staff and volunteers! Lucky Meech is currently spending some time at the home of one of our dedicated volunteers. Patrick reports he is settling in well, sleeps in the crate al night and is such wonderful company! We are so grateful to Carla Miles for her beautiful photos of our dogs and cats! E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Story
"Dogs give us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe." This makes us think of our much loved Fuse! Why we love him: Fuse truly lives in the moment and savors each and every day - there's a lesson there for all of us! Fuse is a delightful dog who will be such a fun companion! He is three years old and weighs 48 pounds. If you want to adopt a medium size companion, Fuse would be a great choice! Fuse had a fun outing with one of our dedicated volunteers who reports: "He was a perfect gentleman! We took a short walk before we left. When we got in the car, it was obvious he loves riding. Fuse was so content to look out the window (loved Christmas music and tolerated my singing). We went to Warner Park and walked the greenway. Fuse was all tail wags for every person and furry creature we saw. He was somewhat timid as we started the walk, but gained confidence as time went on. We walked two miles and he led me right back to our car and hopped in the passenger seat. We went to our house where Fuse took a shower (LOVED), ate a chicken nugget, chewed on a bone and a hard toy, and watched a Christmas movie. He got a little excited after his shower with some zoomies and play bite nibbles but was easily corrected. He really just wanted attention. Fuse settled on to a couch (after being invited) and proceeded to take a nap. We went to Petsmart for Santa photos where Fuse was better behaved than all the dogs in line for photos. He was all tail wags and sweetness. We stopped at Starbucks for a pup cup and he was the most gentle - so demure. He fell asleep on Leah’s lap on the way back to the shelter." Another volunteer observes: "Fuse has a very easygoing attitude and views everyone he meets as a new friend! He is very people oriented. Fuse is interested in observing everything around him and always has a big happy doggie grin on his face. Fuse soaks up all of the attention and is very playful. He is easy to walk and knows the sit command." A third volunteer says: "Being with Fuse truly brightens my day! We have the best time playing with the toys. He is so friendly and sweet and a great cuddle buddy! Fuse is congenial and good natured and very appreciative of attention and affection. He will be such a wonderful family dog!" Fuse always enjoys time in the fenced yard, where he loves to run and play. Games of fetch are his favorite activity and he has so much fun with the toys. Fuse will eventually make his way back to where you are to hang out with you and enjoy the day and have lots of pets and cuddles. He is such a sweetheart! Fuse has had so much fun in play groups with his fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Fuse is a bright dog who should master any commands you wish to teach him. He will already sit for the reward of a treat. Handsome, smart, fun and so sweet - Fuse is all this and much more! Fuse does need a home without cats. E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

"Dogs are the most amazing creatures!" This is a perfect description of Flex! Why we love him: Flex has a zest for life and and his happy presence brightens our days! Flex is, in a word, fabulous! He is 18 months old and weighs 68 pounds. He is so handsome with his chestnut color coat and beautiful eyes. This charming canine has a bouncy, happy-go-lucky, goofy personality that endears him to everyone he meets! His wonderfully expressive doggie face looks like he is smiling at you! He is a very enthusiastic companion on his daily walks and will go for as long as you want. Flex loves to explore the trails on our beautiful shelter grounds and is so interested in his surroundings. He would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. Flex has such fun in the fenced yard, where he bounds about in total joy! He has enjoyed meeting his fellow companions in play groups. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. He is a bright, eager to please dog who should learn any commands you wish to teach him. His signature move is to give you a high five, as you can see in one of his photos. Lucky Flex had an outing with one of our dedicated volunteers who reports: "Flex came home with me for a few hours and he did fantastic. I trusted him with the cats enough to drop the leash while inside- he was that good. When Flex got into my van he almost immediately fell asleep. We did proper intros with my dogs, no issue. Respectful dogs who match his energy and read his cues are a great match for him to coexist with. Flex loved rifling through our dog toy box and then he surprised me by just wanting to lay in my lap like a giant oafish baby. Flex is a great dog!" Another volunteers observes: "Flex is such a sweetheart! He enjoys being petted and will put his head on my knee while I rub his head. Time I spend with Flex is something I truly treasure." Flex truly wants to be your favorite cuddle buddy. He is so sweet and affectionate and has a heart full of love he will gladly share with you. Flex recently accompanied our shelter Director on a speaking engagement. Brittany relates that Flex was a great representative for CCAC and charmed everyone at the meeting. Brittany then took Flex for an outing at a local park, where he had the best time! Take Flex home and you will have such a devoted, fun and loyal companion!
