Story
Oliver was found by Columbia Animal Services on 2/1/24. He is believed to be about 4 years old weighing just under 80lbs and was neutered at the shelter on 2/9/24. Columbia Animal Services shelter is running at almost max capacity frequently and dogs that do not get adopted out risk euthanasia at the shelter. We are currently fostering Oliver to get him out of that environment. Oliver is very smart, he knows commands like sit, lay-down, shake, stay. He is house trained and has not needed to be crated when we are not home. He gets along well (for the most part) with our 2 dogs. He is also amazing with our 9yo son. They bonded immediately and Oliver follows him everywhere and sleeps in his room.

Story
My dogs name is nugget and he’s a really really really great loving dog! He is house trained, great with people and my kids. I have never walked him with a leash ever he’s knows not to go in the street, pretty much just let him do his thing we don’t have a backyard in my townhome community so we have a little area where he knows to do his thing. He does have allergies, I’ve been giving him apoquel for his allergies about one a day and it seems to do the trick. He does have some skin issues on his back from before the apoquel and we were trying to figure out how to help him but other than that he just wants to play all day. I’m starting a trucking career oct 28th and unfortunately I won’t be able to bring him with me and my wife doesn’t like dogs he was pretty much mine so gonna have to find him a new home

Story
Hi! This is Deo. He's an energetic playful GSD who is almost 4 years old. He’s up to date on all his shots and is housebroken. He's a bit shy at first but once he warms up it's all cuddles and kisses. When properly introduced, Deo loves to be with other dogs, and he makes friends pretty quickly. He seems to feed off the energy of other dogs so it's important he have friendly playmates. Deo knows basic commands and is highly motivated by food, which makes training easy. He needs someone experienced with GSD’s. He loves to go on walks around the neighborhood however, I do not let him walk off leash because he loves to explore. He doesn't seem to mind people or other dogs on walks. He's very athletic and will need a backyard with a tall fence. He loves to play fetch, sunbathe, chase after bubbles and do scent work. Deo will do well in a single dog home or with a mature calm natured dog. I haven't had him around kids or cats.

Story
I’m Bibby, a dashing Treeing Walker Coonhound/terrier mix with a big personality that will keep you always entertained.I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services, where I had been surrendered by my owners. My estimated birth date is June 2020.Sadly, I haven’t experienced stability in my life, which can make me wary when I meet new people. I just need a little extra time to get to know you, and then you’ll find out I’m a serious love bug, very sweet and affectionate.I’m the sporty type – I love being out in nature and I love water. There’s nothing like a good hike with my people. I’m a true companion dog! (But don’t get me wrong, lounging on the couch sounds wonderful, too.)I’m a big, high-energy boy (about 65 to 70 pounds), so I would do best in a home with no small children and no other pets. I would love to have an active family that would help me manage my energy. I love to be on the go exploring, and a fenced yard would be a big plus.If you’re looking for an affectionate hunk who will always be ready for adventure with you, we need to meet!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
I’m Brett, a handsome Labrador Retriever/terrier mix who is looking for my forever fetch partner!I was surrendered to the Humane Society of York County when my previous owner could no longer care for me. My estimated birth date is July 2019, and I'm about 60 pounds.Did I mention that playing fetch is my favorite activity? I love to go on a good hike as well, especially if there’s some water to wade in along the way.I can be nervous meeting new people, but if you give me time to get comfortable and trust you, I bring the cuddles and am an affectionate boy.I’ve been at the shelter too long and need a stable forever home! I’ve had a rough journey and I need a family that will show me love and patience.I’ve enjoyed my field trips with HSYC staff and volunteers, for hikes or pet store shopping, and have shown what a great car rider I am. I love to play with toys, and one of my favorite moves is to back up to my humans and sit on their lap.I would do best in a dog-experienced home that can manage my energy, and I’d prefer to be the only pet.If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
I’m Butler, a spunky labrador retriever mix with a ton of personality. I’m sweet, funny and full of life! I came to the Humane Society of York County as an owner-surrender. I’m about 40 pounds and have typical young-guy exuberance – my estimated birth date is June 2023.I’m working on managing my energy, and because of that, I’m probably not a good fit for a home with small children. I’m good with other dogs that match my size and energy level.I’m growing up in the rescue and need to find my forever home and family! I’m smart and I learn quickly, and I’ve taken training classes at Zoom Room in Fort Mill.I love my playtime and my walks. It’s important for me to have an outlet for my energy, so an active forever home would be ideal. I would do wonderfully with a dog-savvy family that will continue my training! If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.
