Story
Molly has been waiting for some time now for the right adopter to come along, and we would really love to see her in a home of her own soon. This pretty Shiba Inu / Husky mix with the gorgeous blue eyes is about 4 years old and weighs in at a little under 50 pounds. She’s a friendly, energetic dog, and bonds well with her people. Here is what we’re looking for in her ideal adopter: EXPERIENCE: Molly needs an experienced adopter, ideally with Husky type dogs. She is not suitable for a first-time dog owner. Children need to be dog-savvy, and at least 14 years of age. ACTIVE LIFESTYLE: Molly is a high energy dog. She loves being outdoors, and would make a great hiking or running companion. FENCED BACKYARD: A safe area for training, playing, zoomies, and that last bathroom break before bed is a must. Molly would not be suitable for apartment life, and no dog parks please. OTHER PETS: Molly would be fine as an only dog as she can be a bit “in-your-face” when meeting other canines. She might enjoy being with a playful well-rounded male dog, but definitely no cats please. If you can check everything off on our wish list, please complete an adoption questionnaire at www.kikodogrescue.ca. Molly would love to hear from you! Due to the high volume of emails and messages we receive, we are unfortunately unable to respond to everyone, but thank you for your interest. All Kiko dogs have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed and tested for heartworm (if deemed necessary), microchipped, sterilized, and require an adoption fee of $475 and an adoption contract. Story
Our 50-pound, 4.5-year-old Schnauzer mix River is extremely loving and affectionate with his own people, but it’s a different story with visitors. Negative behaviour was created as a result of having been put in a room when visitors arrived. Because of this, River needs an experienced adopter who is prepared to work with him with a basket muzzle to help manage and overcome this reaction when people visit his home. LIFESTYLE: River needs a calm single or couple with a quiet lifestyle and few visitors. A semi-rural or rural environment would suit him best. River would not be suitable for apartment life, and no dog parks or children please. ACTIVE: River is playful and moderately active. He enjoys walks when there is not a lot going on around him, but responds well to redirection and positive reinforcement. OTHER PETS: River would be fine as an only dog, but a well-behaved female canine role model may be beneficial. Don’t be fooled by River’s cuteness. He needs a dedicated pack leader to show him the way. If that sounds like you, a very loving companion awaits. If you are interested in offering River a forever home, we ask that you please visit us at www.kikodogrescue.ca to fill out an adoption questionnaire. All Kiko dogs have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed and tested for heartworm (if deemed necessary), microchipped, sterilized, and require an adoption fee of $475 and an adoption contract. Story
YOUNG COCKER SPANIEL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Through absolutely no fault of her own, our pretty Lisa has already had two homes—and she’s only 21 months old. We’ll make sure the next one is the right fit. Lisa has been staying with long-time fosters Angélique and Yan. They report that she is fully housetrained, without a single accident since her arrival. Lisa is very gentle with their little 5-pound dog, and is especially happy when her people are home. Described as “really nice, calm and docile,” when hanging out with her fosters, Lisa can also be a little anxious and vocal when left alone, so would not be suitable for a condo or apartment. A quiet home without young children, and one where she is not left alone for extended periods of time, would be best for our sociable girl. Young and energetic, Lisa is an active young lady who loves long daily walks—and if you’re a hiker, even better! If you’re interested in offering Lisa her forever home, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas, and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us. Vet exam, vaccinations, microchip, and spay are included in Lisa's $650 adoption fee.

Story
SENIOR BOXER MIX AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION After having lived with his family since the age of 4 months, senior Moka found himself on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter, where he was brought due to a separation. Moka is a friendly 9.5-year-old Boxer mix, about 75 pounds, who sometimes still thinks he’s a puppy (that’s the Boxer in him!). He’s a happy guy who always enjoys meeting new people, and will never turn down an offer to play fetch. Moka is healthy, housetrained, well behaved indoors, and can be left alone when his people are out. He is compatible with most dogs, but would also be happy as an only pet. Moka would love to land a forever home with quiet adults or a family with older children. If you would like to open your heart to this deserving senior, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas, and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
YOUNG MALE GERMAN SHEPHERD AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION This stunning 9-month-old long-coated German Shepherd is one of the latest arrivals at Kiko. He was much loved, but changes at home meant his family was not able to provide him with the lifestyle this working breed needs. Klibou is clean in the house, good with basic commands, friendly when meeting new people, and is an easy passenger in the car. As with all young dogs, Klibou will need and benefit from ongoing training. He loves learning, and will make an excellent student for a breed-experienced adopter looking for a new buddy to work with. Klibou has a lot of potential, and did we also mention how stunningly gorgeous he is? Klibou’s perfect home will have German Shepherd experience, and lots of time to devote to giving him the mentally stimulating and active lifestyle that he craves. If you’re interested in offering Klibou his forever home, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas, and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
EXPERIENCED FOSTER, FOSTER-TO-ADOPT, OR ADOPTER NEEDED This handsome Poodle (or mix) was an unclaimed stray at a pound, and we think we know why. Sweet Jamie shows all the signs of having been handled roughly and used solely for breeding, without knowing what it’s like to be a loved family pet. Jamie is about 3 years of age and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Unbearably smelly and dirty when we got him, Jamie had a grooming appointment, where he cleaned up nicely with a bath and shave. He’s quite a timid boy but has no aggression, just a fear of trusting humans. We’re looking for an experienced caregiver for Jamie, whether it’s a temporary foster home or a permanent one. His caregiver will require an understanding of what Jamie has lived through, and know that his healing journey will take time and patience. We’re hopeful for a quiet and calm home with a single or couple ready to work with Jamie and reap the reward of seeing him evolve into a beloved family pet. Jamie’s soft eyes reveal that he yearns for a more “normal” life with people who will love him. Will you help him learn how to wag his tail and be happy? If you’re interested in providing a forever home, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. If you would like to offer to be a temporary foster only, please complete the temporary foster home questionnaire. You can also send us a PM or email us at info@kikodogrescue.ca with any questions you may have. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas.
