Story
Please reference www.DefensaAnimalDePuertoRico.org/Adopt  to learn how adoptions work with Defensa & Rescuers.  Jose Antonio was rescued from the side of the highway. He was very timid and unsure at first, but he has gained so much confidence since realizing he is in a safe place now. Jose Antonio has been checked out by a vet, treated for parasites, vaccinated, and neutered. He is currently being treated with medication for some kidney issues. He is a very sweet boy who just needs a loving family! For adoption inquiries, please contact Rosa at rosallavat0757@gmail.com or 939-319-7180. Story
Bonita (and her brother Bravo) were rescued off the beach in Aguada, PR. They endured hurricanes and being shooed away by humans. They are timid but very sweet. Since rescue they have been with me, and have been neutered and have had initial shots. Bonita will require special handling. She does come up to me and enjoys being pet. However she has resists a leash . She is independent and loves being outdoors but I believe she would love to be someones special pet. I believe she can be trained to a leash. She has been living free outdoors yet on hard rains she will come inside. She loves being pet. She also smiles (wags tail and lifts lip as if to smile). She is darling. She would do very well with a fenced yard and attention to socialize to humans more. She is not aggressive just timid. I do not think introducing to young children the best bc of how timid she is. She loves to take walks around the property with me (she follows and when i sit comes close to be pet). Very sweet, shy girl.

Story
Bravo (and his sister Bonita) were rescued off the beach in Aguada, PR. He endured a hurricane and being shooed away by humans. He was rescued, neutered and has lived with me ever since. He is timid and stays to himself mostly. He will follow me along with the pack of rescues while I take a walk on the property. He will occassionlly let me pet him and give a lick on the hand. He would do well with an experienced dog owner who wants to gain his trust and help him enjoy more human contact. He has never been aggressive. He does not have leash experience as we have a large property that he roams freely. He is offered for adoption (free) along with his sister Bonita or by himself to someone who has time to care and nurture along with patience as he has had a rough start and will need time to build trust. He is beautiful and has a short hair/coat. It is always a pleasure to have his company and a big win to get a lick! I would not suggest young children. A fenced yard with shelter good.

Story
Doodle is a sweetheart. She was found wandering the mountain streets of Maricao Puerto Rico with her sister Snickers. She was spayed and initial shots given. She has a fun energetic personality. She is fast running and loves to play with other dogs (though she can be bossy w the food/typical of street dogs that have missed a meal). She is not aggressive and is very sweet. She is offered for adoption (free) to a loving home ready to give her the best. With additional attention and training she will make a great pet. She is comfortable outdoors but also shows interest in being an indoor/outdoor dog. Very sweet.. all tail wags. Loves going on walks. Available solo or along with her sister Snickers. Will make you very happy.

Story
Snickers was found on the mountain streets of Maricao Puerto Rico. She and her sister (Doodle) were running up and down the road confused and lost. They both quickly adapted to being allowed to reside on my farm. She is adorable and unique looking with an expressive face. She loves walking on the property and will follow me wherever I go. She and her sister are offered for adoption (free). She is delightful and will make anyone who cares for her very happy. She is neutered and has had initial shots and receives monthly flea/tick/worm prevention. She is happy outdoors with shelter (at least in PR climate this is okay). I am sure she could also adapt to being indoors but due to the number of rescues this has not been possible. She is a doll and I am sure she would love one on one attention. Please send a note of interest if you can adopt her. We will be relocating and cannot take all of the rescues with us. I would be happy to find her a loving forever home.

Story
Oreo is a doll. He loves attention but also is on a good schedule. He likes to be near his owner and is good with other dogs. He was rescued after a litter of puppies were found behind a house in Maricao Puerto Rico. He is a little prince. He is neutered and has his original shots. He is available for adoption as we are relocating and can not take all of the rescues with us that we have been fostering. I am hoping to find a loving forever home where he can have the attention and love he deserves. He is loving and a sweet dog.
